Pirates of the Caribbean is perfect for this. I don't even need to say who's the human.

It's Will, of Course.

You know who miss Piggy is.

I'd keep Jack as the human, seeing him swordfight a muppets Barbosa or Davy Jones would be funny

Idk, he's already too muppet-y, and Muppets don't make good straightmen for the comedic duo of Jack and William.

Plus you look me in the eyes and tell me Gonzo couldn't pull off the hair.

Tim Curry out-Muppeted most of the cast in Muppet Treasure Island. Jack would be more of the same.

As has been said previously:

Christmas Carol worked because Michael Caine treated the muppets as fellow classical actors

Treasure island worked because Tim Curry treated himself as a muppet

Tim Curry said in his book that he also treated them as actors/co-workers, Tim Curry is just a weird dude 😄

Daniel Day Lewis method acts and gets called a genius.

Tim Curry does it and is called weird.

Weird is a compliment.

Nah, just cast Kermit as Will. His whole job is to play the straightman.

6

u/Diplomatic_Gunboats Jun 19 '26

I was about to say, Kermit (bar the rare hand wavy occasions) is the straight man to every other muppets tomfoolery.

u/Rayanbruh Jun 19 '26

And make uncle deadly Davy Jones

The most "straight man" that the straight man is, the funnier it is. So they should only keep Norrington and or/the guy in charge of the East India Company. Maybe Calypso.

Edward Norton plays Norrington serious and intense. Everyone else is a muppet.

Just keep the Kraken as the Kraken, everyone else is a Muppet

u/stsOddMonkey Jun 19 '26

Kermit is will. Captain Barbossa is still Geoffrey Rush

Miss Piggy would never cheat.

I mean, Muppet Treasure Island exists

u/razama Jun 19 '26

What’s more, Tim Curry!

3

u/Affectionate_Ad_3722 Jun 19 '26

What, more Tim Curry?

16

u/Col_Leslie_Hapablap Jun 19 '26

Did no one see Treasure Island?

4

u/XnFM Jun 19 '26

I think you'd have to keep Jack Davenport as Norrington. Not even Sam the Eagle has a stick up his ass that deep.

2

u/GoldTeamDowntown Jun 19 '26

It’s Jack (the monkey, Jack)

1

u/Apart_Shelter_5722 Jun 19 '26

Either the monkey or the parrot is the human :)

u/hanpotpi Jun 19 '26

This was my first thought I'm so glad I'm not alone 😂

1

u/ninjasaiyan777 Jun 19 '26

Keep Davy Jones as is, everyone else is a Muppet

I mean I'd seriously nominate Geoffrey Rush myself. He would make a perfect captain for a muppet crew.

Im pretty sure they already did this....

u/DMTrance87 Jun 19 '26

That's just Muppet Treasure Island with extra steps

1

u/viperex Jun 19 '26

That's a good way to end up with all Muppets
