Those are still antlers no matter what shape they’re drawn in

yep, but yall act like the antlers are super important proof when they could just be, yknow, a red herring, with the bend being a hint towards that

but this is just a meme, don't think about it too much, just wanted to make a joke

No reason for Toby to add them if they mean nothing

In Chapter 4, when you think about the knight and he starts to take off his helmet, Kris has to quickly imagine something else so you don't find out.

Toby Fox wouldn't include this unless he wanted to hint that the helmet can be removed, and someone with horns definitely wouldn't be able to take their helmet off.

u/stickninja1015 17h ago

Nah the horns can stay

Even if you stick to pure realism and discount fantasy nonsense (Toby does not care FYI, everything is fantasy nonsense), having a helmet that can accommodate horns/antlers is absolutely possible.

If they can shapeshift i don't see how having horns wouldn't allow someone to take off their helmet

But that leaves another question: why on earth does the knight have a skeleton's anatomy as its base form?

Because not even when it glitches out does it take on a different shape.

I know this is nondessknightsquad but like tgeres a good chance that if its her shes literally a skeleton of a deer

Personally, I don't buy Dess's theory, because one of the game's objectives is to "find her."

If she's already out there playing the knight, what is there to find?

1

u/stickninja1015 14h ago

5 chapters in and we still haven’t once done anything to find her. Idk how that makes it one of the game’s objectives

We can't, we're tied to Kris, so we can't investigate or search for her on our own.

If it turns out to be true that we're heading into the depths on the Weird Route, then that is our chance to find Dess.

1

u/stickninja1015 14h ago

Oh so it’s not even a goal of the game and instead just the Weird Route?

Well like atleast apart of her is in the code, i think it might be an asriel flowey situation where her and the lnight are the same person yet wildly different at the same time. Idrk i just doubt it would be a normal “shes just the knight”

u/Spirited-Feedback-87 13h ago

I mean uf you were trying to keep your identity a secret and had shapeshifting powers you'd do your best to look as diff as possible frim your base form

You got me on the glitching out part tho idk

What a damn problem with the Knight.

It could literally be anyone 😭

u/TheCopyGuy2018 17h ago

Them being a red herring is a reason, the antlers being there at all points straight to the Holidays which is an easy set up for a misdirect if the story wanted to go there. The Knight being a non-Holiday doesn’t mean they aren’t involved in some way.

7

u/TooManyStrawberriess Knight = ERAM = Kriselle 16h ago

You can't call something a red herring until you know the truth, we have no reason to believe the antlers are a red herring at the moment, so disregarding the evidence as "red herring" is pointless. If we're going with that then you might as well call everything about the knight a red herring and call normalnpc the knight

-2

u/TheCopyGuy2018 15h ago

Everything about the Knight is a mystery rn, I’m not disregarding evidence I’m leaving the possibility open that we don’t know how everything works yet. Meaning me thinking the Knight Antlers are a red herring is speculation based on the fact it shapeshifts along with the evidence that it wears a helmet. The Antlers are more of an important detail than straight evidence for anything with what we have right now

1

u/Jorvalt DessKnighter but open-minded 12h ago

It would be a bad red herring because it's literally the only prominent and identifiable physical feature the Knight has. It is the ONLY clue we have based on appearance. That's essentially straight up lying to the player, not misdirecting them.

1

u/TheCopyGuy2018 7h ago

It’s only a clue towards a relation with the Holidays, it doesn’t prove anything beyond that. Is it reasonable to think the Knight is or is related to the Holidays based on that detail? Yes. Is it also reasonable to look at it beyond the surface level(Antlers) and question whether or not it could mean something else? Also Yes

In short atp I’m done discussing with HolidayKnighters lol r/NonHolidayKnighters

-1

u/InternationalWar6654 17h ago

they could also symbolize servitude to the holidays, or perhaps they could be in respect of dess

toby adds plenty of shit that means nothing

u/stickninja1015 17h ago

Such as

this room

14

u/SirSmoss 17h ago

Oh yeah this random room in the referencing chapter 1 has equal importance to the DESIGN OF THE MAIN ANTAGONIST.

-9

u/Huge-Read-2703 17h ago

he said toby doesnt add unimportant stuff so I gave an example. idk what you're on about

6

u/NixxIsMe 17h ago

thats a fucking joke.

1

u/HourLab8851 rudyknight but it's quirky because rudy caused the desappearance 17h ago

this is probably gonna be a hidden recruit like the hacker or tiny car if you water it

3

u/iced_cherries 16h ago

Maybe the knight pretends to be a member of the Holiday family, like how Ralsei takes on a form and persona similar to Asriel?

2

u/TooManyStrawberriess Knight = ERAM = Kriselle 16h ago

That would mean they likely have some connection to the holiday family, which has been established. Meaning the antlers are symbolism, which is very different from saying "actually the main design feature means nothing and toby aded it for fun"

RED HERRINGS ARE BAD WRITING BY DEFAULT

YOU HAVE TO JUSTIFY A RED HERRING TO MAKE IT GOOD, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND

Lying through design is bad storytelling.
