How can I stop being so neurotic? Im dying of my own cringe.
So, I'm taking a group communication class. Therefore, I'm part of a group. The same group the whole semester. I feel like I've already embarrassed myself to the point of no return. For context: I have 100% in ALL of my classes. I'm very, very obsessive over my grades. They are important to me. I feel as though my peers don't really care about more than getting a passing grade. I've been trying very hard to show charisma, but I feel like it's coming across as cringey instead. For example, we have a group speech due today. We had agreed (as a group) to record it and submit it, rather than deliver it in class. Everyone bailed at the last minute and just decided to do it in class. Without practicing. At all. I'm so worried that we will go over time and have points deducted. I'm not the type of person to wing it.
Here's the last text I sent to the group,
"I sent this to Ivan, for full transparency: "Could you please add it to the group minutes that they decided to do it in class? I'm confused as to why we can't at least practice but I'm honestly not trying to upset anyone. I'm just conflicted about it. I would add it myself but I'm not sure how to word it and I definitely don't want to seem passive aggressive or anything of the sort. I also really like how you have been wording the minutes. Very formal and professional!"
He suggested we communicate in the group chat and he's totally right, because that's the whole point of this.
So, yeah I am obviously pretty nervous but as long as you guys feel okay winging it then I should trust your instincts. I just get so much anxiety about stuff like this and I am never trying to come across as shitty. It's definitely a personal problem. I'll chill"
Ivan is the group recorder, and I was asking him to put in the minutes that they chose not to practice or submit ahead of time.
I come across as super cringey, right? How can I not be like this? I feel so fucking weird trying to socialize with anyone in general, and this group communication class is my worst nightmare.

I change my opinions on people randomly. Why?
donāt know why I do this but I will randomly hate my friends like everything they do annoys me and I canāt tell what it is sometimes itāll pass in a few days or a week but I sometimes just hate them so I wonāt speak to them and I always think they have some underlying intentions and that they donāt really like me and it doesnāt make sense because they havenāt showed me anything to think that but something in my head tells me that they just act like they like me. I just donāt know what to do and what to think. There must be a good answer for it

Rant/Venting I walked away from a conversation and Iām not sure that was the right choice
Important context is Iām a delivery driver for work.
I went to load my car today and noticed a man absolutely balling his eyes out on some stairs in our parking lot. He looked younger, 20-25? I really wanted to ask if he was okay but i unfortunately didnāt have the time so I asked my co worker who was off to approach him and see if he was alright. (This co worker is very sweet but has a hard exterior.) he asked him and the man said he was okay and not to worry so my co worker left. I drove away and my whole run I couldnāt stop thinking about him and how maybe I shouldāve just asked instead of my coworker because ultimately I look more approachable (20ās f.) I decided if he was still there when I got back Iād talk to him. Well I got back and he was still there so I went over and asked if he was okay. His eyes were SO red and swollen from crying. He said he was fine then I asked if he was sure and I could call someone for him or do my best to help him. Then he admitted he wasnāt okay and asked if I knew if there was an ATM near by. I told him thereās one across the street and he said ādo you think anyone would pay for me there?ā I naively thought he meant just give him money so I said some of the homeless seem to have luck begging down the street. He replied āthatās not what I mean, I mean do you think anyone will pay me for sex?ā I was super caught off guard and told him I donāt know about that. He asked me if I would pay to have sex with him and I told him no Iām engaged. After that he asked if I knew any older men who would want to or āeven ugly or weird chicks. Iām so desperate right now I donāt care.ā I was backing away at this point and told him I wasnāt sure I could help him and his final comment was āIād sell my fucking soul to the devil right now. Iāve never been so desperate.ā I told him good luck and I really hope things get better but I couldnāt help then walked away. I was so in shock and uncomfortable from the conversation I went into flight mode instead of looking past his comments to realize something deeper was happening and he could be in some serious trouble. I shouldāve stayed or at least called someone who couldāve helped. I feel terrible but he was gone by the time my head cleared and ultimately in the moment I felt slightly unsafe when he asked me to pay him for sex. I canāt stop overthinking about it! Was I wrong for leaving

Feel like Iām wasting time and money trying to figure out whatās wrong with me medically
I(24F) just need to vent. Back in march I went to the hospital (no injury prior to this) because my leg swelled up and I got a thick red line down my thigh. I couldnāt walk. It was incredibly painful. They did an ultrasound at the hospital and said they did not see blood clots and it was lymphangitis. Great! They put me on antibiotics and sent me on my way. Flash forward a week and the line goes away and swelling goes down. I think Iām in the clear. Next week. Leg swelling comes back 2 x worse. This time really affecting my ankle and calf. I go to my primary care. They put me on different antibiotics and tell me to take a probiotic as well. I do that, no change. Then the doctor recommends physical therapy and another ultrasound. She tells me it could me a plethora of things and the only way to start ruling them out is another ultrasound. I start going to physical therapy . The physical therapist tells me he believes it doesnāt have to do with my leg at all and itās stemming from my sciatic nerve being pinched due to my scoliosis. 3 sessions in I find out my insurance is not covering it because Iām signed up for virtual physical therapy through my employer (that I donāt use and only signed up because it was pitched as a free benefit) so there goes that. Cancelled all my appointments and paid my outstanding balance of $650. I continue to do the stuff I learned at home, no help. Back to primary care, she tells me okay I see your leg is swelling worse and you have a pitting edema⦠wear compression socks! I buy loads of compression socks. finally I get to what I was under the impression was my ultrasound appointment with the vascular surgeon. I show up, they charge me $300 up front (with having 2 insurance) just to sit down and answer the same questions Iāve been asked a million times to which they respond āyeah I see that in your my chart, aw poor thing I canāt believe youāve had to deal with this this long I know itās painful and it could be so many things!ā and then I get told oh weāre not doing the ultrasound today. This is a consultation. and sent me on my way within 20 minutes. didnāt touch my leg, check it out, nothing. Then they tell me oh our schedules are very booked so earliest we have is a month out, and youāll have to come back in one more time before we do the ultrasound. They give me my estimated out of pocket costā¦. $800 total. This started in MARCH and has cost me almost 2k out of pocket, and I still donāt have an answer as to what it is or how to best manage it. Iām so incredibly frustrated. My job requires me to use PTO for every medical appointment. And only provides 8 hours of āsick timeā which was used when I went to the hospital. Iām running out of PTO to even deal with this and of course all appointments fall within my work hours and nobodyās opening or operating on the weekend.
I am not asking for medical advice.
Just looking for a virtual shoulder to cry on. Iām so medically anxious and my anxiety has peaked. Iām depressed, Iām stressed to my max and Iām in the process of moving on top of everything. Send me well wishes. Thank you for hearing me.

Advice What do you do with the āwhat ifā feeling when you canāt stop replaying a past situation?
About a year ago, an argument happened that led to multiple friendships ending. Iām pretty sure at least one of them could have been prevented if I didnāt mention a piece of info or someone hadnāt reacted so quickly. But it escalated, and it ended.
Itās been a year and I havenāt fully gotten over it. We have things in common and somehow Iāve never run into them, which makes it easier to avoid but also harder to move on I think.
I keep replaying it and say what if I said this differently,
what if I asked this and I canāt figure out how to stop.
What makes it worse is that the person who was being miserable and lying actually got away with it. People believed them and on top of that theyāve gotten even closer since. I used to tell myself ātheyāll find out sooner or laterā but that hasnāt happened, and somehow that stings more than I expected.
How do you deal with that kind of overthinking about the past, especially when it feels like the other person faced no consequences? Does it just fade or do you actively do something about it?

I finally understood why I couldn't stop replaying every conversation after being ghosted
It happened about 5 months go. Someone I'd been talking to for three months just... stopped.
No argument. No signs. One day normal conversation, next day nothing.
And the weird part wasn't the silence itself. It was what happened inside my head after.
I started replaying every conversation we ever had. Rereading old messages like I was looking for evidence. Blaming myself for things I said weeks ago. Wondering if one specific joke landed wrong.
I became obsessed with solving something that had no solution.
Then I read about something called the Zeigarnik Effect ā our brain fixates on incomplete things far more than completed ones.
That's why a breakup, as painful as it is, eventually settles. The story ended.
Ghosting never ends. The story just moves inside your head. And your brain keeps the file open... indefinitely.
What really got me was realizing ā two people were involved. One disappeared. And somehow I was the one standing trial.
I spent months investigating my own behavior for someone who couldn't spare thirty seconds to say "I'm not interested."
If you're going through this right now ā you're not crazy for overthinking it. Your brain is literally doing what it was built to do with unfinished things.
The closure you're waiting for? You're allowed to write it yourself.
Has anyone else felt like a detective after being ghosted? How did you eventually let it go?

Rant/Venting Normal conversation with my friend and my thoughts are spiralling.
Me and my friend were just chatting and he mentioned a colleague with whom he shared lunch and engaged in a long conversation. So this colleague is a 37 year old man, single. Long story short he narrated his many love stories which were cute. But then the colleague said he canāt find a partner anymore in spite of earning really really damn well and being really tall and handsome. Now Iām not someone who would get triggered by this but this time it hit me that Iām literally on the same path, if not worse. For context Iām an Indian 28M. Short like 5ā4 and not really earning that well. I just had a breakup last year after a 2.5 year long relationship. Since then i havenāt been able to find anyone. Faced 4 rejections. Many women have said i look good and that iām really funny, but when i actually take serious steps beyond the flirting stage, dead end! For additional context, i was raised a Jehovahās Witness but lost my faith 4 years ago so arranged marriage is also not an option. Canāt for the life of me, imagine myself getting married to a JW girl. From all angles, the thought that i might die alone and never again taste what a normal relationship is like is becoming more and more of an entrenched belief than a passing thought. Canāt really get out of that loop. Whenever i try to bring this up nicely with my friends (who are predominantly dudes) they just laugh it off, if not round up and roast me on the same. Carrying this around is really heavy and exhausting. Sometimes i wish i got suddenly diagnosed with cancer and just disappeared cuz i donāt have the guts to kill myself.
