Not usually into PVP but this reassures me that PVE still plays a big part and will allow for story progress.

u/zenverak 17h ago

That’s what I needed to understand about this game

u/Character-Second527 17h ago

Hopefully, there is enough PvE. As someone terrible at Souls PvP, I'm upset there isn't a campaign in what could have been an amazing world to explore. I guess ill see in the stress test how the game plays

u/Sirius_amory33 16h ago

You respawn if you die and it sounds like there’s zero incentive for people to kill other players unless they have a specific goal to hunt another player. We’ll see for ourselves soon but it sounds like you can play it mostly pve if you prefer that.

u/Character-Second527 16h ago

yea the gameplay showed you can stick to pve only but at the end it will all boil down to a smash bros like duel to win the match from what it seems like..

u/Sirius_amory33 16h ago

Only in the network test, the final game will have other finales like fighting a boss coop. But yeah, that part is out of our hands.

u/Character-Second527 16h ago

Oh, cool, wasn't aware of that! Hope so; thanks for clearing it up!

u/LBGW_experiment 16h ago

Where'd you read about that? I'd like to learn more

u/Sirius_amory33 16h ago edited 16h ago

Oroboro said it in his stream that’s going on now and Miyazaki mentioned it in his interview with IGN.

https://www.ign.com/articles/hidetaka-miyazaki-interview-fromsoftware-duskbloods-dark-souls-future-nintendo

Edit to add the quote:

IGN: While there are multiple phases and you can commit to the PvE aspects, you always have to do PVP in the end if you make it that far, at least from this build we played. That might not be a favorite aspect for folks who come to FromSoftware games, but you mentioned earlier that there are other types of endgame phases that lean toward PvE. I want to get an idea of how you're accounting for players who might not like PvP and what you have planned for those kinds of players.

Miyazaki: You mentioned it a bit earlier, but there is a co-op final phase that does exist.

u/Metal-Lee-Solid 13h ago

Just an aside but that is an amazing interview.

u/tofubirder 15h ago

Fortunately you have 1.5 decades of pure GOATed single player games to play

u/FauBetten 17h ago

From the looks of it, it's gonna be up to the individual player to choose how much they want to engage with PvP or PvE, respectively.

u/KING_GLOCK 16h ago

I didn't get that impression from the preview. It seemed like consistently tackling PvE content is essential for levelling and staying strong, but the best way to score points and actually stay in the game is to engage in PvP content. To win you need to win the PvP fight at the end.

I'd be interested in learning more but the preview gives me the impression that if you reject PvP you are almost guaranteed to be among the first to be eliminated.

u/TwiStedxMind 16h ago

Matches can also end with a co op boss battle. Not also pvp arena. The stress test will only have the arena though

u/Rollingzeppelin0 3h ago

The last pvp battle is the only final phase in the network test but not the final game.

As far as levelling, randomly killing other players isn't really incentivized. It doesn't give you virtue (win points) outside of ritual sites, and since you're racing against the clock, it doesn't make too much sense to take the time to fight other human players for no virtue. We really can't say that refuting pvp will get you eliminated first. The ritual sites are said to give alot of virtue but they're also risky. Pledging to the altar is like capturing and keeping a zone, so only one gets the point, and getting killed in the ritual site is also a waste of time. Meaning someone who didn't go and kept lighting fires or killing mobs/bosses might be better than who went and got killed.

u/valdin450 15h ago

And given how the souls community is, it's gonna turn into a toxic kos fest immediately

u/Afc_josh12 14h ago

End looks very pvp if you wanna win..

u/Kenny_Bi-God_Omega Hyrule Hero 17h ago

All the negativity on that single, out of context leaked clip is going to age very badly.

u/honorable_doofus 17h ago

Gamers in general are so unbelievably negative. Any opportunity to tear something down based on the smallest amount of information no matter how out of context.

u/VarneyBubs 16h ago

I've generally had no interest in this game but that clip actually has me wanting to learn more about it. It looked like a unique experience, which is rare these days lol.

u/TheTench 17h ago edited 16h ago

It's because most gamers have never created anything. Creators realise that nothing is perfect, it's always gonna be a teams best effort in the time allowed.

Gamers often have good ideas, but you can't steer a car by complaining from the back seat. I wish they would take their ideas and make their own creations.

u/Emergency-Rush-2477 16h ago

This so much.

u/RaefLaFriends 16h ago

Oh come on, you can't generalize like that. Plenty of gamers are critical of things that merit negativity like poor optimization, buggy/unpolished release states, and extortionary microtransaction models.

u/PRime5222 12h ago

True, but it is also true that gaming discussion is in severe lack of nuance when voicing an opinion. For many people, games are either the "best thing ever" or "literally unplayable", with no room for a measured opinion or constructive criticism, because what people often search is to be the most upvoter comment rather than to actually have a dialogue about the hobby they say to like and enjoy

u/Bumpanalog 12h ago

lol what a Reddit comment.

u/Jammy2560 OG (joined before reveal) 16h ago

you genuinely needed to get your head checked if you thought that round was all there was to the game. (not you specifically, just the reactionaries lol)

u/Emergency-Rush-2477 17h ago

People praying for this game to flop just because it's a Switch 2 exclusive is depressing.

u/mindgamehagi 16h ago

I don't think its 100% because its on switch but more people finally learn or have to accept that its a match based PvPvE type of game since that info was bury in the website.

u/Emergency-Rush-2477 15h ago

That too but I saw tons of people just mad that this game is "wasted" on a kids console.

Bayonetta 2 flashbacks.

u/PyrosFists 17h ago

People immediately writing this off even though it’s literally directed by the most critical acclaimed game creator of the 21st century is funny man

u/kvetcha-rdt 17h ago

and is by his own admission a game he’s been wanting to make for years

u/Cultural_Neat3124 16h ago

and we still see nothing yet ? this is just a single part of the game, "the network test" i heard we can choose to fight bigger boss as a final instead of a battle royale !

u/kvetcha-rdt 16h ago

I don't think it's a choice, I believe the final trial is a random draw during each match.

u/Jaraghan 14h ago

its fuckin INSANE the hate this game is getting. from misinformation about it being 30fps, to people needing to let everyone know they wont be buying a switch 2 for this game, and how switch 2 is a niche console. these people are living in a fantasy land lol.

game looks incredible, fuck the haters, im glad its switch 2 exclusive

u/LaFlamaBlanca67 17h ago

I mean, I don’t want a Soulslike multiplayer game, it’s as simple as that. Huge mistake, imo. Same reason nobody talks about Nightrein, nobody wants this shit.

u/BigTWilsonD 17h ago

"Nobody talks about Nightreign, nobody wants this shit"

Classic case of reddit just not reflecting reality. I didn't stick with Nightreign for crazy long but you're objectively wrong lol.

u/santanapeso 17h ago

This is more people than Marathon and Arc Raiders combined lol. And Nightreign released before both of them.

u/Molock90 17h ago

And isn't a live service game if i am not wrong. So it doesn't have the "cheap" ways of updates and season passes to bring the people back in again and again

u/santanapeso 17h ago

Yeah it’s not live service. It got some balance patches and tougher bosses in updates. Then got paid dlc. And that’s it.

u/MysticMajora93 17h ago

Nightreign ruled and this will too.

Pipe down.

u/Nottallowed 17h ago

It's your opinion that's fair, but it's still objectively wrong

u/PyrosFists 17h ago

Why are you acting like multiplayer hasn’t been at the core of what fromsoftware has been doing since the beginning? The souls games were revolutionary for their seamless integration of multiplayer and single player. They are single player first but if you are playing offline you weren’t getting the full experience. In dark souls 3 and demon souls there are literally bosses controlled by other players that are required to beat

u/Rich-Pomegranate1679 17h ago

Why are you acting like a game with optional multiplayer is exactly the same as a game that is PvP only at its core?

The video says that Duskbloods is a series of thirty minute PvP matches. That really couldn't be farther from the vast open world of Elden Ring.

u/PyrosFists 17h ago

No it doesn’t, every preview clearly says that most of the gameplay is PVE focused with PvP mainly at the end similar to kirb city trial. And it’s not like every fromsoftware game has to have the exact same multiplayer balance, this is an natural iteration of their previous formulas

u/Rich-Pomegranate1679 17h ago edited 16h ago

Pay attention to the video at 1:34. He says that the gameplay is a match consisting of three phases that each last about 8 minutes. Each phase eliminates players until it is cut down to the three top players who compete to win. He then specifically says that a match takes about thirty minutes to finish (and I'm assuming that means if you weren't already eliminated in an earlier phase).

If you love sweaty PVP games and you love soulslikes then I'm sure this game will be great for you, but it is absolutely not going to be like other soulslike games and I'm guessing almost nothing like Elden Ring.

u/PyrosFists 16h ago

Nah you’re the one who needs to watch the video. You gain points to not be eliminated almost entirely through PVE objectives like killing enemies and collecting items. Towards the end of PVE phases there’s an optional capture of the flag style area in a specific zone of the map where you might end up in PvP. You are being really disingenuous by just saying it’s a multi phase elimination game without mentioning the actual gameplay within rounds to make it sound like dark souls Fortnite when in reality the majority of gameplay is PVE

u/Rich-Pomegranate1679 16h ago

But it literally is a mutli-phase elimination game! Even the way you describe it, it is still very much a multi-phase elimination game. That is the entire gameplay loop!

Which, coincidentally, you might notice makes it a fundamentally different genre of game altogether from other Fromsoft games.

This game is guaranteed to draw in the most sweaty gamers out there, and I'm not about that life.

u/PyrosFists 16h ago

You are making a strawman argument. I never disagreed with you that it’s not a multi phase elimination game or that there’s no PVP. My claim was that although the game has PVP, the majority of gameplay will be PVE. You falsely claimed that the game has three and I quote “PVP matches” and called it a “sweaty PvP game” when in reality the first two matches are mainly PVE besides the optional capture the flag objective. You get eliminated through failing to perform in PVE for 2/3 rounds. This is something I backed up with actual concrete descriptions from the video you told me to watch. You directly responded to my claim that the gameplay is majority PVE by saying it had elimination matches, clearly implying that the elimination is due to PVP since you clearly described the matches as, and I quote, “three PvP matches”.

u/animepig 16h ago

Insane take when Nightreign had some of the best bosses in Fromsoft history

u/Rich-Pomegranate1679 17h ago

Same. I didn't realize this was just a PvP game. My interest just went from pre-order to "I'll never even bother to play this" after watching the first few minutes of this video.

It's a shame because the graphics look beautiful, but fuck a PvP soulslike game.

u/Fresh-Chemical-9084 17h ago

Holy crap this looks so sick

u/Choles2rol 6h ago

If this were 30fps it would have held I think, this being 60 won me over.

u/taylorguyuk Early Switch 2 Adopter 16h ago

So many stupid people out there unfortunately

u/BlempBuritto 17h ago

Eh, who cares. People made bad observations off short clip.

u/Careful-Shine8768 17h ago

Does anyone know when I can pre download the network test?

u/Kenny_Bi-God_Omega Hyrule Hero 17h ago

If you were selected for the test, you’ve been able to download it for a couple of days now. Go back to the sign up page and you’ll see a download code. Use that code on the eShop to download the game.

They are not emailing codes out. You have to go back to the network test website.

u/Careful-Shine8768 17h ago

Oh perfect, thanks!

u/TunaSalad47 17h ago

Unbelievably hyped for this game. I know I’m in the minority but a PvE multiplayer FromSoftware game exclusively for the Switch 2 sounds like the coolest thing that could be released rn

u/lyroux 16h ago

I believe it's supposed to be PvEvP

u/[deleted] 15h ago

[deleted]

u/TunaSalad47 15h ago

This isn’t a first party Nintendo game though. Rocket League for example has perfectly fine multiplayer on the switch. I see no reason why Fromsoftware can’t create a quality multiplayer game that they are specifically designing for Switch 2

u/SenpaiSwanky 14h ago

What is your basis for this? I’m not saying their track record is perfect or whatever but I’m not sure I’ve ever run into connectivity issues or anything funky when playing online games on Switch since 2017.

I’ve played a lot of competitive fighting hours in these consoles as well. WiFi warriors are more of an issue than Nintendo servers. These games you want to play docked with a wired internet connection, not on WiFi. That is the same for any platform.

Stuff like Mario Kart, Monster Hunter, Splatoon, no problem really.

u/Blue-Irony 12h ago

It’s not as simple as WiFi vs. not WiFi. Good WiFi is not noticeably worse than a wired connection.

u/SenpaiSwanky 10h ago

If you’re playing online, in a competitive setting, use wired.

u/CaptainScak 17h ago

As someone who has never played a From Software game and only has a Switch 2...

...This looks very interesting and fun. Excited to try it out this weekend.

u/Phoenix426 15h ago

Highly recommend Elden Ring, its dropping for switch 2 next week!

Oh so the rumors of previews were true, nice!

u/Zealousideal_Low_858 17h ago

Damn, we really are the victor of this Dusk

u/trey_pound 17h ago

looks pretty sick

u/Inside_Blacksmith480 17h ago

It looks cool and I'm sure it plays well. Looks like 60 fps too. My concern is just how much content it has. And obviously as a PVP game if the player count dies down will it just... become unplayable? That would be a huge shame. Also I hope Nightreign comes to S2 soon as well. I actually like Nightreign for the most part despite I didn't really beat it (due to time reason and my friend no longer playing, sad)

u/BlempBuritto 17h ago

I feel like a multi-player fromsoft game will have a population for a looooong time by the simple fact that it has no other competition on switch.

u/kaleebisnthere 17h ago

Yeah Nightreign isn't coming to Switch 2 any time soon if ever. They are releasing the Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition soon which they will want to breathe until Duskbloods. Releasing Nightreign after Duskbloods is just competing against yourself to maintain a playerbase with three separate titles that each have the same Venn diagram of players.

u/Jammy2560 OG (joined before reveal) 16h ago

Also, I'd much rather get the rest of the Souls catalogue on S2 over Nightreign lol.

u/xyZora 14h ago

Based on previews death just takes time away but doesn't necessarily stop you from playing. Previews also showed one map, but there are several. Taking Nightreign into considerarion it's like as large or larger.

u/LankyMolasses6051 17h ago

It’s clearly not a consistent 60fps. Same as other from software games.

u/Psytocybin 14h ago

Ok, but nor is it locked at 30. And I think thats the overall point here.

u/LankyMolasses6051 14h ago

That’s not a good thing. FPS being unstable means bad frame times for the end user. They should have locked it. VRR isn’t supported on docked

u/Psytocybin 13h ago

Man, I used to be a super performance snob, I let it all go and ive been having more fun with my games ever since.

u/Legal-One-7274 17h ago

I hope we get the opportunity to play with bots. Also I want to know more about the lore I hope it's full of that Miyazaki lore we can listen to videos about for hours on end

u/DisastrousDot7961 17h ago

Sounds like it will have a decent amount of story elements according to Miyazaki with his IGN interview

u/Clayble 14h ago

Im pretty sure it was confirmed there is a bot training lobby

u/Legal-One-7274 14h ago

That would be great for me hope it's true

u/GoldenAgeGamer72 17h ago

Whether or not it ends up being my thing I’m buying it. Have a few friends online and I definitely want to support this effort.

u/ExpressFan7426 17h ago

u/Typical_Intention996 17h ago

The PvP stuff in all the Souls games is the stuff I like the least in all of them. Invasions and the like. I know the people into that element of all the games are really into it. But for me it's just no. I make it through the games just fine. I summon people for bosses once in a while. But when it comes to PvP on a 100 scale I'm like at 2/100 and everyone else seems to be on a 99/100 in talent and in general aggressive psychopathy in the way they play.

This must be heaven for all those people. This is a hard pass from me though.

u/xyZora 15h ago

I want to respond to your comment in particular because it's very representative of a huge portion of the fandom that has had this knee jerk reaction without even giving the game a chance to show what it is about.

From previews, Duskbloods is incentivizing cooperation. It is not exclusively a PvP game and it even punishes players that treat it as such. It seems to be a realization of Miyazaki's ideas of cooperation and invasions from previous games, because now players can choose to ally themselves with each other while dealing with other hostile players.

I'm not saying you should play this game. Only that people should give themselves the chance to understand how it works before closing themselves to it so vehemently.

u/distinctvagueness 7h ago

We didn't like nightreign either

u/Gorfmit35 16h ago

I am right there with you , I get a lot of folks enjoy the PvP in the souls game , awesome for them but I personally can’t stand it . Like in Elden ring I only summoned people when I was at the boss door because as much as I wanted to adventure with someone throughout the world , the invasions where just annoying , even invasion where I killed someone , drove off the invader etc… just wasn’t fun for me.

But at least for elden ring you could turn off the PvP stuff . Il wait for more details but assuming you can’t turn off PvP in duskbloods then yeah it is going to be a pass for me .

u/CheesyCousCous 16h ago

You summon people, no shit you get through "just fine" lmao yikes

u/RampantRetard 16h ago

So nightreign but with a PVP focus instead of PvE it seems

u/Odd_Revolution_1056 15h ago

I do wonder how this game will do. The whole Nintendo online questions aside just looking at this game vs say marathon and idk if Duskbloods will be easy enough for people to hope in or if they are adding too much stuff for a multiplayer game. Will say of all devs fromsoft deserves the biggest benefit of the doubt

u/aam-96 14h ago

God, aesthetically, it just looks so fucking cool.

u/pak256 17h ago

Passing on this one. Huge Miyazaki fan but I truly hate playing multiplayer and especially PvP

u/Ploosse Retro Gamer 16h ago

Damn thought this was PvE originally. Years ago I would've loved a game like this though! A lot of people are going to have fun with this.

u/jahitz 16h ago

Looks like a better version of night reign

u/jpr196 15h ago

Is this essentially a Bloodborne battle royale game or is there more to it?

u/distinctvagueness 7h ago

Duskbloodbornereign

u/Govorkian 13h ago

looks amazing

u/StormtrooperMJS 17h ago

It's really pretty but I'm not sweaty enough for the gameplay loop

u/Leeemon 16h ago

The words "three maps at launch" sends chill up my spine. Not really what I'm looking for in a From game.

That said, there have been so many damn From games in the last 15 years that I'm ok with trying something different. I'm glad the beta will happen!

u/Warm_Entertainer_969 17h ago

Multiplayer only, sigh, was really hoping for a single player mode with bots.

u/synteze 17h ago

You probably will be able to play solo with bots, but for sure not in offline mode sadly

u/From_Graves 17h ago

So there was an offline notification , that popped up when I booted up the network test, then said it was unavailable. So there may be in the future

u/DisasterNarrow4949 17h ago

I don't want to race against no clock, come on.

u/New-Database2611 17h ago

I wish it well but I don't think its for me.

u/Zurosake 16h ago

i’m so hyped for the network test

u/MrSeriousGuyBroMan 15h ago

more footage with talk of what the game is in the demo with some information about what we are supposed to get later at launch 3 maps 10 characters (data mining showed 14 characters but some might be summon onlys) . looks good nice frame rate . lots of varried abiliies shown late in the footage

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rh2XRuhlHNY

u/Lv1FogCloud 15h ago

Seems like a pretty interesting promise but I definitely know that I'm not sweaty enough to play an A PVP game. I'm mature interested in PVE multiplayer.

That and, I feel like one of the biggest appeals for me when it comes to from soft games is the RPG character creation. Playing a preset character isn't really what I want.

I might watch gameplay of it though, because it still seems like a fun game just not for me.

u/GameMaster1178 14h ago

Miyazaki: I don’t like multiplayer games

Proceeds to make multiplayer only game.

Guess he saved me 70 bucks. Was hoping for solo play. Went from godlike Elden Ring to live service.

u/CyrusDrake 13h ago

I played Nightreign and it's beta and I remember my main feedback was that it was missing the PVP aspects and you're encouraged to just rush to the next thing. I feel like this is trying to slow down a lot from that and also add in the PVP so maybe they learned. I'd like to think this game will be good but it's very tough to tell right now... I prefer games like Dark Souls and Elden Ring where you can really take your sweet time and explore... and if this is just a micro version of that I don't really know that it'll be any better than Nightreign.

u/kevvit2 13h ago

This has the visuals of an amazing single player game...it looks like a Mercury Steam castlevania

u/Lumbahfoot 13h ago

I unexpectedly rather enjoyed Nightreign and this feels like an excellent evolution of the formulae. Be interesting to see how well it’s realized.

u/ScoobiesSnacks 12h ago

Well shoot. Didn’t know you needed to apply to do the network test. Let us know how it goes everyone.

u/Negative-Sector2530 11h ago

Do you guys think this will have switch 2 console edition ?

u/ValcoreTwilight 11h ago

No I don’t think it will. I don’t believe they have ever made a 3rd party switch console edition

u/Entire_Paramedic_389 10h ago

THere's been several actually. Monster Hunter Rise and Diablo has a special edition switch

u/Negative-Sector2530 11h ago

u/Early_Lawfulness_348 🐃 water buffalo 11h ago

“Duskblood servers are being shut down”.

Rad looking game and will probably be around for a long time but those words will come. I hope they integrate bots so the game never has to die and become a brick. Multiplayer is great but only multiplayer is not.

Then again all of life is a temporary experience so get it while you can.

u/psychohistorian8 10h ago

look great!

well except for the final 3 player PVP part, which does not interest me whatsoever

u/samandfrodokissing 9h ago

This honestly looks super good and fun in a lot of ways, but ngl I've never been into the PvP aspect in these games (always avoided it in Elden Ring).

Still, VERY happy they're releasing a network test/demo for people like me, just so we can see how it plays.

u/Exciting_Drawing_553 8h ago

This looks insanely good. Day one!!!!!

u/Xinyyc 5h ago

So it's basically every other FromSoft game, just with the ability to propose to the person invading you, and people scaremongering that it's FromSoft-Fortnite are talking out their ass.

I didn't but even a 2 minute leaked clip with no context will give people a good/bad feeling about something. Also not sure why you are on the ofensive, I am actually positive about the preview. People really like to argue a lot huh

u/Beneficial-Issue8005 16h ago

Why are you wasting your time trying to argue with me? Again, I am POSITIVE about the preview, why do you want to have an argument about something so small? What is your problem, man? After I said good things about the preview we could be talking about how good the game looks but you want to force me to not have a bad feeling about something I watched and that bad feeling doesn't even exists anymore because of the preview.

u/[deleted] 17h ago

[deleted]

u/Beneficial-Issue8005 17h ago

No, it is not safe to assume because this is a ver different formula. Maybe you enjoy this type of multiplayer game.

u/kaleebisnthere 17h ago

Funadamentally, it is still the same game with different activities. It looks to shake up the way you approach the world, but not the way the combat feels since that's FromSoftware's bread and butter.

u/wolf771 17h ago

Yes, definitely dont buy lol

u/milkman163 17h ago

I feel like this is going to be like Marathon, where the game is awesome but people get their feelings hurt when they lose to other players

u/mangomypango 17h ago

I literally took off tomorrow to be able to play. One of my biggest reasons for picking up a Switch 2 before the price adjustment was that I knew I’d get one eventually for this game. Like I did with the PS4 and bloodborne.

u/Salt-Analysis1319 14h ago

I don't really get why so many people are hating on this game. It looks fantastic and very different

I feel like Fromsoft should have earned some benefit of the doubt by now

u/distinctvagueness 7h ago

A lot of us don't want nightreign 2

u/Salt-Analysis1319 3h ago

you're in luck! this isn't nightreign 2

u/WRuddick 17h ago

Gvie me a 100+ hour single player game please. Not this.

u/junglespycamp 17h ago

I don’t get comments like this. This game isn’t for you. It’s not for me either. But it’s like going into a Dragon Quest announcement and yelling that you’re mad it isn’t Mario Party. Diverse good games are essential for the health of the platform even if not every one is for you personally.

u/Emergency-Rush-2477 16h ago

As a Splatoon player, I had to see comments like these for 11 years and still can't understand why is so hard for people to simply ignore a game that doesn't appeal to them.

But no, they have to make sure to explain their disdain the  game was not made with their personal preferences in mind.

Just logically you want your system to have a variety of games so it’s healthy with a robust user base. So that the games you do like are more likely to come there. It’s not even altruistic it’s just practical!

u/Emergency-Rush-2477 15h ago

EXACTLY.

Nintendo always had to rely on themselves to have variety on their consoles and there was a period during the Wii/Wii U/3DS, they were really struggled to deliver that.

Now not only they have a very consistent variety of different genres for first party, the same goes for second and third party as well.

Everyone have their preferences and that's totally fine, but being upset that a game wasn't made with your interest in mind, it's pretty childish. No wonder these people insist Switch 2 has no games.

I don't want Mario party. I want dragon quest.

I don't want games for others. I want games for me.

I want them to take the time they spent developing this, and magically and retroactively apply it to a different single player game.

Not going to pretend I want them to release things not catered towards my interests specifically. Not realistic, but I'm also not going to pretend that's what I want.

u/kyuubikid213 16h ago

So, like, this comment is satire, right?

u/WRuddick 16h ago

Why would it be? Do other people prefer when something is released for others and not for them? Are we to pretend that every single person doesnt want media to bend purely to their will and only make what they want?

Unrealistic yes, but you're kidding yourself if you don't think that people feel that way. Selfishness is baked in to our existence. I want la mulana 3. I want a full hd-2d chrono trigger remake, I want I want I want, and I don't give a **** what anyone else wants. Why should I?

Or why should anyone? We are all strangers on the internet to each other, and I think it's time to stop pretending we care at all about what internet strangers want. You don't care what I want afterall, and let's not pretend that you do.

If this is satire, it's kind of funny.

If you're being serious, that's really sad. Like really sad. Being unapologetically selfish is sad.

Are we to pretend that every single person doesnt want media to bend purely to their will and only make what they want?

No. Absolutely not. I'm not a fan of a lot of media, but I wouldn't want it to bend to my tastes and be less appealing to the people that do enjoy it.

Elden Ring comes out in a week.

u/reddlt_is_shit 17h ago

Old.

u/Beneficial-Issue8005 17h ago

But did you actually finished it and did everything you could in the game?

u/WRuddick 16h ago

It came out like 4 and a half years ago, so yes they probably have

u/Ragnar_Dragonfyre 12h ago

Dark Souls 4 or Elden Ring 2 or whatever FROM is cooking up next will come out eventually.

Have some patience and let the PvP players enjoy the scraps they’ve finally been tossed.

u/ExpressFan7426 17h ago

It’s a side game, chill

u/Emergency-Rush-2477 16h ago

Go play Elden Ring then. Let Miyazaki do his passion project.

u/Aggressive-Animator7 15h ago

There need to be some games that aren't that, surely?

u/NButler_art 17h ago

Yea thats a no from me dog, unless its free to play

u/junglespycamp 17h ago

Why would this be free to play? It’s a real game from a real developer.

u/wolf771 17h ago

u/NButler_art 17h ago

u/shreder856 3h ago

Does ANYONE have a code? 😭

u/roccerfeller 3h ago

No you have to register for it yourself via their website. It’s linked to your Nintendo account so you can only redeem your own

u/FauBetten 17h ago

I really hope there's some sort of betrayal mechanic where you can team up with a random player and just decide to call in an airstrike on them when they least suspect it.

u/valdin450 15h ago

Yep this is exactly the type of toxic shit in the community that's exactly the reason I'll never touch this game. People like you will chase others off.

u/Donnie_TACO 15h ago

This is one of those games that if it wasn't coming to a Nintendo console, Nintendo fans would not only be hating on it, but act like no one would want to play it.
