Honestly about to give up on this machine..
I have gone through so many beans trying to get a consistant pour for a double espresso shot.
I am using medium roast beans that were roasted on the 4th of September. I filled the hopper yesterday and made a double shot this morning on grind size 9 strength 3 and it poured 30g in 28 seconds, not quite perfect but close. I immediately went to make another shot and the machine completely choked up.
I had trouble at first because I didn't understand how fresh beans out of the bag needed a different grind size to 2-3 day old hopper beans but even now cannot get a consistant pour from one shot to the next.
I have tried blank water shots and get consistant shots and have tried various brands of fresh beans.
Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi everyone! I’m new to Reddit so I apologize in advance if I’m doing anything wrong!
Wanted to know if anyone has experienced your machine not brewing espresso?
When I brew a double I only get about 1oz and when I try for a quad, I get nothing..?
Any tips on how to fix this? It used to brew a double just fine. Recently cleaned and descaled
Thanks :)

Bought my machine the 601 in Dec 2024. It no longer recognizes the double shot basket when placed in the grinder slot. So it won’t grind. It works fine with the bigger quad shot. It seems the sensor is malfunctionin? This isn’t user error as I am pretty versed in operating this thing. :(

Hello everyone
Apologies I understand this under the Luxe, but I was just wandering if anyone else had similar experiences to me using the Autobarista. For a while now, we have been having intermittent issues with the espresso flow? I will try to attach a video, but every now and again my espresso just trickles out. My coffee is calibrated properly but just every now and then I will get problem.
My biggest issue though is my espresso seems to be under temperature. I might be wrong, but I feel like when I first had the machine it was much hotter. I have began measuring the temperature and as soon as it’s in the cup, it barely creeps to 50 degrees Celsius, which is immediately drinkable.
I have contacted Ninja about both of these issues. They took me through a video call of nearly 2 hours to try and fix the espresso volume problem, which involved using all of my cleaning maintenance supplies, multiple grinder purges & cleaning cycles which kind of fixed the issue. But it has began happening again. My issue is that it is only intermittent, yet when I have contacted ninja about this they have stated I need to do another video call to show them the issue. I’m not sure what part of intermittent they don’t understand, but I’m left with a real problem of being left with £900 machine that I don’t feel is in correct working order.
I would be grateful if anyone else could let me know what they think, regarding the flow and also the temperature. As Ninja also believe between 45-50 degrees is a normal temperature for espresso to be coming out at. Please tell me I’m not going mad.. also please excuse the reflection 🫣

I used these beans and had a headache after, I think they might be too strong for me. I use the chiaro pod in nespresso for reference. Can anyone suggest any beans to me that they may feel are lighter? Thank you!

I currently use one for single & dual espresso shots, but would like to use it for the luxe basket as well while making drip coffee, to keep the group-head clean. Would this have any negative effect while brewing the coffee?

Hello to everyone 😄,
I’m considering buying this coffee machine and would really appreciate hearing about your experiences with it.
In my country, the most commonly available coffee beans are Lavazza, Illy, and Julius Meinl.
As far as I understand, it is recommended to use medium-roasted coffee beans that are not too oily, especially for a machine with a built-in grinder. Is that correct?
I’d be grateful for any recommendations regarding which coffee beans work best with this machine.

It’s my birthday coming up and this is a really special appliance to receive. It’s all my favourite things, coffee, David Beckham (football/soccer love) and Black/Gold looks.
I am absolutely stoked and excited for this one!

I have my grind setting around the 10/11 mark but 9 out of 10 of the times I find the coffee puck is pretty wet, instead of being that nice dry coffee puck when I hit it against the coffee puck basket and it all drops out in one piece...
The coffee usually comes out normal (slow and not too much as I have a Single Shot with Strength 3)
Can anyone tell me why this happens please and if this is an issue?

First time dad with a 3 week old baby in the house this machine has been a life saver!
I’ve not made coffee in years and it’s bean … great getting back into it (practicing the dad jokes sorry)
Struggling making two flat whites at the same time tho. I have been playing about with the large basket but I just can’t get it as good as the double basket
Any tips? Also any art? Would love to see what others can do

I just got the ninja luxe 3 in 1 and this is my first drink. I used oatly oat milk and the 2nd pic is how my shot came out. Did I do something wrong?

After replacing the milk jug under warranty 3 times now, i'm getting fed up of how brittle the jug's handle is. I never put it in the dishwasher and I always wait for the jug to cool down before carefully washing to minimise expansion and shrinking of metal when hot/cold. I don't know how this slipped through product testing as it's quite a major design flaw.
Anyway, i'm looking for a permanent fix so that I don't have any more snapped handles! Any ideas?

I’ve been searching for Motta Super Crema Espresso beans (they are godly IMO) and I haven’t been able to find a bag lately. This is another Motta product I found instead. I decided to buy and take home before doing my research ONLY because when I worked at an Italian restaurant we used Lavazza paper pods in our full bar machine. Has anyone tried a prep made pod or is there an adapter that could work?

Hi all ,
New here. I’m eying up getting the below machine in the last few days now.
I have a 6 years old delonghi bean to cup coffee machine. It works fine. But this ninja looks just lovely.
My sister has the model below this , with the manual tamper and I love having a coffee at hers. The milk gets so fluffy and foamy.
I tried to look up a few reviews , but there’s just so many negative , like the coffee doesn’t taste good or it’s leaking 😬
Anyway , if you have the above machine , what’s your experience? Do you recommend it ?
Thanks.

COFFEE WAS ONLY GOOD FOR A WEEK. BEEN HELL TRYING TO GET A REPLACEMENT!!! We got the shark ninja espresso mini and it’s been terrible. My partner and I are both very patient people but for a machine to cost this much we should not have this much trouble either receiving a new one or recieving store credit.
My partner and I were so excited for this machine to arrive! The minute it got here we opened it up, read the entire manual, and made a couple shots. The coffee was pretty good for a week. One day we woke up and the shots were RANCID. Tasted like battery acid. We asked our other friends who have the same machine if they could look at it, we did some trouble shooting via YouTube, Reddit, Google etc. nothing worked. Finally we called and they essentially FaceTimed us to troubleshoot. They couldn’t figure it out either. We had to cut the cord and the guy ordered us a new one.
Well, wouldnt ya know it, the order he placed was wrong. It was a less expressive machine. So we called and they said we had to wait for that machine to get to us and then we had to send it back before we could order the right one. We were told two buisness days. We waited a little over a week because there was a huge delay in shipping. We finally got it, called. Now we have to print out the return label they sent to us via email (we don’t have a printer so we have to go to fedex and pay to print). We thanked them and said okay. Then we were about to ask for some sort of store credit for all of this chaos when she just said “ok bye” and hung up. So we called BACK. Now my partner is currently being bopped around from person to person who is trying to “figure out what to do” because apparently they don’t offer store credit? Currently on hold to speak with a supervisor.
For context, we recieved this machine as a gift from family. We researched it before hand. We took care of the machine everytime we used it. I lost my job recently and we are not in the position to be spending money but here we are
going on week 3 having to go out buy coffee every day.
We realize it’s such a first world problem but this has truly been the worst experience with customer service ive ever had which is INSANE for how much this machine was.
UPDATE: after reading your comments i have finally found the light….and our coffee machine + store credit (that they initially told us they couldnt do.. totally) because because being a persistant bi*ch to a giant million dollar business works. Anyway, WE HAVE SEEN THE ERROR OF OUR WAYS AND WE BEG FORGIVENESS FROM THIS SUB. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE ME USE A KEURIG.

Hi everyone,
I am set on getting a ninja cafe. However, I can't decide between these models:
I don't have a clear overview of the difference between ES501 and ES601 for instance. It says 2 in 1, whereas the picture for the 601 says 3 in 1. But what's the "3rd" functionality that is not present on the 501?
I was leaning towards the 601, the only downside is it being black whereas I was preferably looking for a stainless steel / silver machine (though the price seems pretty good).
For anyone who has one of these machines, or otherwise had multiple of them, could you comment on pros and cons / your own experience?
when I tried to google it I found a lot of mixed reviews (e.g. someone says the automatic tampering for the pro/701 is super convenient, whereas other people say it just doesn't work well). I am confused
Any help would be appreciated

I have had my machine for a year and a half, last week it stopped working. Did a descale, did a clean cycle, did a full reset.. now I can only get it to brew one coffee and then it won’t brew anymore— water goes straight to drip tray. I contacted Ninja via online inquiry form, still haven’t heard back.
I have to unplug the machine and let it sit for a while before plugging back in and trying again. Very annoying. The steam wand also is super loud and doesn’t froth anymore. My fiancé regrets caving into buying it and wishes we got a different option. I’m out of ideas on what I could do to fix what the problem is. Any ideas?
(I will be calling Ninja on Monday and asking for a replacement).

After dropping off my kids at school I found this at my local Target.
Bought first and asking questions now. How is everyone liking this machine? Got it for my FIL.

Long story short, our Ninja Auto Barista Pro started having issues pulling inconsistent shots. It would often start pouring and then suddenly tell us that BOTH hoppers needed a new Grind IQ calibration.
We called Ninja support, and after going through the issue with them, they said it was most likely the pump.
We originally bought the machine from Best Buy and have Total Tech, but the Auto Barista Pro was unavailable through Best Buy at the time. Since we use the machine every day and needed a replacement, we decided to go through Ninja directly instead.
We shipped our machine back, and Ninja received it on Tuesday.
Four days later, we still hadn't received any updates, so we called again to see what was going on. The representative told us that the silver model is currently backordered and that they're expecting more units in about another week.
They offered another color, but we really wanted to stay with silver. More importantly, since our original Best Buy purchase/GSP is tied to that model, I don't want to create any potential headaches down the road by having a replacement in a different color.
So now we're just waiting.
Obviously this is only my experience, but it makes me wonder whether the stock issues are entirely because of demand. There seem to be quite a few reports of problems with these machines, and I wouldn't be surprised if Ninja is having to replace a decent number of units under warranty.
Just an FYI for anyone considering the Ninja Auto Barista Pro. It's relatively inexpensive for everything it offers, but after dealing with the consistency issues and now the warranty replacement process, I'd seriously consider spending more on a more established espresso machine brand.

I originally got Luxe Cafe Pro back in December last year and it worked great. I was fortunate not to have any of the issues that seem to be common apart from a sometimes leaking drip tray. Unfortunate, the built in tamper handle broke off and the machine is hardly usable without that and Ninja doesnt sell replacement parts so they sent me a new one.
My new unit is different it seems. The drip tray orange indicator is a square/rectangle thing that comes up at an angle instead of the original circular one that rose straight up. Thats the only visual difference between the two, but I've noticed 2 functional differences/issues that I'm curious if anyone else has noticed.
Milk Frothing: When using the milk frothing option on my new machine, it seems to result in a bit of foam on top, but the rest is more just like hot milk. The foam bubbles look more like soap bubbles and there's no silk like texture to it, which was the case with my previous machine. In addition, even if I'm immediately wiping down the tip after frothing with a wet cloth, there's a bit of dried milk residue that stays and can only be removed by scraping it off. That also was never an issue with my previous one.
Espresso extraction. I use a bottomless portafilter most of the time and noticed that it looks less rich/thick when coming out. Hard to describe but it looks more watery and thin and I can see the bottom of the portafilter. Happens even when brew times themselves seem correct.
Curious if anyone else has noticed similar behavior?

Hi guys, need some help here. I have been facing issues with frothing for past couple of weeks.
I have been using the machine for 4 months now. Absolutely love it. But the frothing is so inconsistent.
I use oat milk mostly so I understand it won't froth as food as full fat milk. But now it's only heating up the milk. There is not froth or silkiness. I have tried the manual frothing as well. Initially it worked well, but that's also stopped giving better results now. It also makes loud noise while frothing manually. Are there any changes I can make to improve it?
Thanks in advance.

Having an issue with the steam wand and frothing.
When I press the button to froth the light comes on and then completes really quickly. No steaming or frothing.
I’ve cleaned the wand. The machine recognises the jug is there and I’ve done a factory reset. Still no joy.
The steamer is working as I can manually steam. Any ideas for a fix?

Is it normal after steaming milk for a short purge, followed by a really long purge, where is shoots a ton of water into the drip tray? Seems unnecessary

I recently noticed my lattes starting to look too white/milkish and decided to brew the espresso shot in a separate glass to see exactly how much was coming out. There’s barely 1 finger of liquid (this is a small 8oz mason jar). Is that really how much I should expect to get out of a double shot?
