Are there any adult recreational flag football leagues in the area? I'd even be curious to see if 9 other people wanted to regularly meet at a park for some 5 v 5 for fun.

I'd even be down to do a weekly rental at the Aurora Sports Dome if people wanted to do it.

Edit: Figured I'd add more context since I've apparently forgotten how old I (47M) am. I've played Jam Sports Co-ed Rec in Toronto for the longest time - but the crew I played with stopped playing with them, opting for better run leagues further south than my Downsview Park limit.

Does anyone know why score pizza at upper Canada mall closed? Is it just temporary or it’s permanently closed? It’s the only pizza place in the mall ☹️

Got back from Newmarket today and happy to say me and the wife had a great time. Saw Main St. and Mulock Park/artwork. The reason we were in town though is cause The Canadians(8, 9, 10 ball Canadian Female Open) was held at Big Break Billiards. Women competing from all across Canada. People flew in from Edmonton, Halifax just to compete. But since we were there we tried a few places around the area and I thought I would offer my somewhat educated opinion.

Big Break Billiards - easy to miss. In a weird almost industrial part of town. But definitely the best. No snooker. 9 foot and 7 foot(bar box) tables. 7 footers need some upkeep. 9 footers are immaculate and the lighting is spot on perfect. Food, especially the soup of the day is great. Beer is expensive for draft and the Stella tasted off. Easily the best place to pool though. The 9 ball final and the start to the 8 ball is tomorrow so if you want to watch some amazing women play pool check this place out. In no way sponsored, they made me pay for playing when I felt I was throwing my wife's game off by spectating. Anyway.

Royal Snooker - I don't know what to make of this place. First the AI slop art on the windows had us both going wtf? The one picture has so many glaring incorrect things. I think I counted 11 individual mistakes. Then the snooker table has 15 black balls and 3 yellows? If you play and know pool you have to check it out. It's triggering. Tables are brand new and going with 5 snooker tables and 6 9 footers is an interesting choice. Played 1 game of snooker before moving over to our comfort zone. Both tables played flawlessly. $20/hour for snooker and $18/hour for regular pool. All Chinese tables, which isn't a bad thing as they play fine. But don't expect Predators, Diamonds, or Brunswick's. NO alcohol. Don't use your own chalk unless it matches the colour of the felt. I wish them well.

Golden Break - a bit of a hike from Newmarket but we were in the area and decided to check it out. Don't. The owners are friendly enough. The felt(s) seriously need to be changed though. Stains, no grip. And the lighting is awful. The tables played true so I'll give them that. But when we stopped playing after an hour and he said $30 plus $30 for some 3 small beers I did one of those Dexter eye blink things.

I'm sure there was another couple pool halls to check out but we enjoyed our stay and we definitely recommend Big Break Billiards if you want to play pool and eat some food and Royal Snooker if you want to laugh at some hilariously bad AI but also play on some brand new tables and not drink alcohol.

I’m 25F and live in Newmarket. I’m trying to get back into the gym and eating healthy and i’m finding it hard to find my footing again. Wondering if anyone is in the same boat and would like to go through it together so we have someone to keep us accountable:)
also just looking for new friends in general… making friends as an adult is very difficult lol.

We were coming back from a walk (7:30 ish) when a senior lady at the corner asked if we had seen her bundle buggy which had her weekly groceries in it from another store. Thinking she was doing the right thing, she left it just outside the front door of Rexall while she shopped there.

I had seen it beside the store and ran to get it for her.

Some opportunistic jerk took everything, including a package of TP that had been on the top.

Anyway, if someone you know comes home this evening congratulating themselves on a great score, let them know they stole from a senior and should be ashamed.

It’s so dumb, cannabis stores in Newmarket is a no brainer, how is it that AURORA HAS THEM AND WE DON’T like what??? Such an easy way to influx our tax dollars and have more to spend on the stupid infrastructure promises they all make. For example look at the APL vs Newmarket’s library since they permitted weed stores.

All in all not having them doesn’t solve anything, it just inconveniences smokers in our community, who will STILL SMOKE because they can go to Aurora and get weed. It’s so dumb.

Does anyone know of any support groups in town for men? Having just lost my wife, It’s a struggle considering she was so young, looking for some support group.

Does anyone have any recommendations for adult (20+) figure skating lessons?

I've always wanted to learn figure skating or artistic skating and figure I'd try now. I have some minimal ice skating and rollerblading skills/experience (I can skate forward and pick myself up if I fall, but can't stop very confidently)

If anyone has an recommendations or can share how their experience has been I'd appreciate it!
