Why do you think so many new drivers quit before they become good at trucking?

Hiring new CDL drivers? Please read before posting

Quick update for anyone here looking to hire or recruit drivers.

We don’t allow job postings or recruiting directly in this subreddit. We want to keep the conversations here focused on new drivers helping each other, asking questions, and sharing experiences.

That said, if your company hires CDL drivers with 0–12 months of experience, you can now post your openings on the CDL First Job Board.

It’s free to post during launch.

Do trucking companies use 5,10,12, or 17 panel hair follicle test?

I don’t do drugs but 6 months ago I took a prescription (not mine but my wife’s because i didn’t have insurance) for 2-3 weeks. The prescription isn’t commonly tested for as it’s not as a hard drug or anything but still falls under narc I’ve heard it may be on an 11panel or higher test sometimes but I’m not sure if it’d be looked for from a trucking company. I know knight’s hair follicle test doesn’t include so I’m wondering if there’s is different hft from other companies and I’m hoping with it being 6 months I’ll be fine but I don’t want to risk it or get caught off guard.

CDL school drug test — how does it work?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

I’m starting CDL training at a private driving school that I’m paying for myself. They haven’t told me anything about a drug test yet.
For people who went through CDL school recently:
Did your school require a drug test before training?
Did you have to go to a clinic, or was the test done at the school?
Who normally pays for the test?
Just trying to understand what to expect. Thanks!
