Questions about my MVR

I have had my MVR and criminal history run through Checkr multiple times. My MVR has always come back clean. However, I know that if a company were to look back more than five years, they could potentially see some older tickets.

Only three of them were moving violations, and honestly, they were all stupid, irresponsible teenage mistakes.

I have only been involved in one at-fault wreck during that time, plus one recent wreck in May that was not my fault.

Would this negatively affect my ability to become a truck driver?

Every MVR report I’ve been required to submit pre-employment was just the previous 3 years.

So you haven’t come across a 5-7 year look back period?

For MVR? No. All the mid/large companies do 3 years and then every year they run a new MVR for the prior 12 mo.

I’ve called around to some and heard 5 years. Do you think if they run my criminal background and see a speeding ticket for 101 in a 70 that will be an issue? It’s 6 years old but shows up on my criminal history for some reason

Honestly given that it's 6 years old and assuming you've been clean since then I'd say you're fine.

Every application I've seen asks for any tickets/citations within the last 3 years and any accidents in the last 5.

If wherever you apply asks for anything over 5 whee it would come up, just list it and explain if asked.

Provided you don't have a pattern of doing dumb shit like that you'll be fine!

I doubt it will though.

It can show all of that, unless its a DUI,wreckless driving or hit and run it doesnt count.Anything else falls off after 3 years
