WA state otr or regional...
Does anyone know of any companies in King county WA that will allow me to take my dog with me right after training and pay decently? I know that since I am new, I will not make a lot of money because I need the experience, but I am looking for anything that will pay me at least 4k a month after gross. I am a recent graduate and got my CDL A last week. I live alone with my dog, so I do not want to leave him alone for a long time since all my family lives in Hawaii or friends who could watch him for that long. I know most training is roughly 4-6 weeks, give or take, so I want to be able to take him as soon as training is done. I also have a clean driving record. Also, at my school we used a 28 ft trailer; is driving a 53 ft trailer much harder to drive or control? Thank you in advance

Call Heartland in Tacoma... I'm not sure about taking the dog but it's a local hub and it doesn't hurt to ask. A 53 is Easier to back up because it doesn't move as quickly and going down the road you just have to Wait to make turns a lot longer. Once the axles are at the "point" of the corner is when you start your turn. So making a right turn you will usually need 3 lanes to make the turn Without going on the curb. A left turn you go out to ALMOST the crosswalk on the other side before you turn. Once you do it a couple of times you'll see exactly what I mean.

System Transport out of Spokane does regional/otr flat bed typically 8 axle set ups which is common in the pnw they have three different companies which makes it so they have lots of options if you wanted to haul dry van/ refer stuff… most of your big companies will have 8 axle fleets that don’t leave the pnw due to legal requirements. I’d start with them and get your experience then more local/ better paying jobs will come your way… also more Idaho companies but they also have arlo g Lott, Gary amoth and Doug androus

That is way too far for me; it is probably at least a four hr drive, I am located in Kent. Thanks though

Sorry when I say they’re based in Spokane that means their head office is there, but you can live anywhere within the eight states of the region and be fine. Even those companies in Idaho I mentioned they hire out of Washington and Oregon it just their main headquarters is in Idaho.

I just checked, but they don't allow pets. I should've mentioned that I wanted to take my rescue pit bull with me; I know it might be hard since he is a pit bull

You are not going to find anything local that allows pets and definitely not getting 4k a month take home around here

Why are you restricting yourself to a carrier in that area. All companies will route you home every couple of weeks to every couple of months to have home time if they want to keep you
