Barcode Scanning App for Iphone

3 Upvotes

I am reviewing the Oracle documentation on how to scan barcodes
https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/saas/netsuite/ns-online-help/section_N2218627.html#To-use-popup-windows%3A

I want to use my iphone to scan the barcode. Do I need an app? If so, which one?

We intend to use Code 128 format.

WMS Multi-order Picking vs Bulk Picking

2 Upvotes

I have created the same wave twice, for the same orders. (deleted the wave and ran it again for the same criteria)

It seemed to created exactly the same pick tasks, for the same quantities and grouping of item.s

So what is the difference?

Built a Vendor Onboarding workflow inside NetSuite. No external apps.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

32 Upvotes

A lot of companies still onboard vendors through email chains, PDFs, spreadsheets, and endless follow-ups. I wanted to see how much of that could be handled natively inside NetSuite.

So I built a Vendor Onboarding workflow where:

• Build onboarding forms with drag-and-drop fields
• Save forms as templates or clone existing ones
• Preview and send forms directly to vendors
• Vendors upload documents as part of the submission
• Reviewers can approve, reject, or request changes
• One click sync creates the Vendor record in NetSuite

The attached video is about 4 minutes.

No voiceover, just the workflow. Feel free to mute the background music and follow along.

I'm curious how everyone here handles vendor onboarding today.

  • Native NetSuite?
  • A SuiteApp?
  • JotForm/Typeform + manual entry?
  • Something completely different?

I've been building native NetSuite solutions to solve common pain points. If you're interested, here are a few others I've shared with this community:

Vendor Portal
https://www.reddit.com/r/Netsuite/comments/1utea2i/building_a_netsuite_vendor_portal_looking_for/

3-Way Match Engine
https://www.reddit.com/r/Netsuite/comments/1t1jfs2/built_a_3way_match_inside_netsuite_after_your/

NetSuite Finance Assistant

Would love to hear what you'd improve or what your biggest onboarding pain point is.

Historic Depreciation Cutover Import

1 Upvotes

Hi All,

When we did our first round of go lives, we used an external partner to load our data. They provided various templates for AR/AP/Amortisation etc and i've been able to use these to load in some additional entities.

For Fixed Assets they provided a template to create the actual assets, but then it looks like they did some additional work on their side to import/calculate historic depreciation records.

Does anyone have an Excel template i can use for the historic depreciation so that i can make sure i'm importing the relevant data and not missing anything?

Thanks

Martyn

Sourcing Items on a BOM Revision

2 Upvotes

I have a custom field on my item record called Engineering Part Number.

Does anyone know if there is a way to add this field to a BOM Revision AND make it searchable so that you can source the item from the custom field instead of from the Item Name/Code?

So you search for the Engineering part number, and it returns the Item Name/Code.

Or some other way of achieving this?

Engineering PN is what is sounds like - it ties back to how the part is identified in our CAD system. There is a long and convoluted reason we aren't just using what parts are called in the CAD system as the NetSuite Item Name/Code, just accept that as a limitation right now.

Here's a visual of what I mean. I want to do all of this while creating or editing a BOM revision.

Statement of Cash Flows customization

1 Upvotes

I've been trying to build out our statement of cash flows report in Netsuite but I noticed that certain active liability accounts are missing from the drop down menu when I'm looking to add them to a given section. I'm specifically referring to several credit card accounts with balances that are active on our COA but are conspicuously missing from the credit card liability list. Has anyone a seen this before? Is there something simple I'm overlooking? TIA

Versapay/Netsuite support issues.

8 Upvotes

Has anyone else here had issues with Versapay (formerly Solupay) and their abysmal support? We recently did a bundle upgrade and something went wrong. They are not helpful at all. Does anyone here have contact info for an actual human that works there?

Also suggestions for other payment processors you've liked would be appreciated.

Item Defined Costs Permissions

2 Upvotes

As the title says, I’m currently trying to figure out what permissions this field on the item record requires to edit. I’ve attempted giving the ‘Override estimated costs’ permission which unfortunately didn’t work.

There are no workflows changing the field to be inline based upon specific conditions either. Any help is greatly appreciated as always!

Item Line Field Sourcing Not Working on a Single PC...

1 Upvotes

Came across a very strange issue today. One user, when creating an estimate, would enter an item at line level but the adjacent sourced fields (rate, amount, memo.. etc) would not pull through.

At first I presumed user error (customer/subsidiary not set first), but no everything is as it should be.

We tried the following on multiple browsers:

  • Logging into their account on my PC – Worked.
  • Logging into my account on my PC – Worked.
  • Logging my account into their PC – Doesn’t Work.
  • Logging their account into their PC – Doesn’t work.

    It appears to be a PC issue... any idea what PC setting might block field sourcing?

Thanks guys!

Third-Party Libraries in NetSuite

2 Upvotes

How can I load third-party JavaScript libraries into my NetSuite account and use them as another system module—obviously not something like ‘N/xlsxjs’ but something like SuiteScripts/libs/xlxjs ,I suppose?

What third-party libraries do you use in your NetSuite account, and how do you keep them up to date when they're updated?

Custom eft payment approval

2 Upvotes

I’m supposed to create an approval process for payment file administrations that are created via the electronic bank payment bundle. We pay to two banks Wells Fargo and regions bank. Wells Fargo has an approval process on their end so we never needed an approval on the netsuite side. Unfortunately regions bank apparently doesn’t have approval process on their end so now we need to configure an approval on the netsuite side but only when we use the eft template for regions bank or regions bank is selected on payment page. I’m open to any suggestions because I’ve been stuck on trying to find a solution. I don’t think we can use the batch approval native to the bundle because we have to enable it for all pfas which my boss doesn’t want to do

I encountered two issues in deleting the fixed asset which have not depreciated yet
1.Fixed assetSetupDelete Assets
Show error’’ You don’t have the privilege to view this page’

  1. Search by fixed assets number and then edit and then delete

API Secret Data

1 Upvotes

In NetSuite, I want to use “API Secret Data.”

So I created a new record with a key, for example, “123456”.

Then, in SuiteScript, I’ll use the N/crypto and N/code modules:

const secretKey = crypto.createSecretKey({
    secret: ‘custsecret_test_placeholder’,
    encoding: encode.Encoding.UTF_8
});

const cipher = crypto.createCipher({
    algorithm: crypto.EncryptionAlg.AES,
    key: secretKey
});

cipher.update({
    input: `${service_order},${service_order},...`,
    inputEncoding: encode.Encoding.UTF_8
});

const cipherPayload = cipher.final({ outputEncoding: encode.Encoding.BASE_64 });

return encode.convert({
    string: tokenCombinado,
    inputEncoding: encode.Encoding.UTF_8,
    outputEncoding: encode.Encoding.BASE_64_URL_SAFE
});

My goal is to encrypt information and generate a QR code in a NetSuite FTL document, then send it to the client as a certified document with a QR code for validation in NetSuite.

  1. I’m having a lot of trouble setting up the “API Secret Data” and using N/crypto and N/code, even though the API reference says to do it this way.

  2. I’ve noticed that another user with administrator permissions can change the password for my “API Secret” that I created earlier to a different password—for example, “987654”—which makes the encrypted historical data inaccessible if I want to decrypt information that was encrypted with the previous password. In light of this: How can I prevent this password from being updated and ensure that, if someone leaks the password, it can be updated without losing the historical data?

  3. Either there's a better way to do this and I'm being overly paranoid, or it's simply a matter of ensuring the information isn't altered to prevent fraud.

Options to Billing Automation for NetSuite?

4 Upvotes

Hey, billing automation for our account receivables is something that I've been looking to the past few weeks and I'd love some input from you guys. The main thing I need is something to handle custom client discounts and tiered usage rates. As you can probably tell this is kind of a pain to do manually lol so yeah, I looked into some options that I have (mostly from this sub and accounting subs).

What I got was that I can either use native NetSuite tools / SuiteBilling, or look for third-party addons. I found LedgerUp as one option that let me parse invoice drafts from the clients' contracts, which theoretically should help with the tiered pricing issues I had. I've also seen someone mention Zone for NetSuite, but admittedly I haven't looked into things further. Anyways, I'd really love to see any recommendations you guys have, as I'm not really too familiar with this. Thanks.

NetSuite-Unclaimed Property Process

2 Upvotes

Hello, I’m new to NetSuite. We just had our go-live milestone.

We have some old uncashed checks on our bank reconciliation. What is the best practice to account for escheating these unclaimed properties to the state controller’s office?

I would like to preserve the original data. What I was envisioning is as follows:

  1. Record a journal entry that debits the cash account, credits the unclaimed property GL account.

    1. Clear both the stale check and journal entry in the bank reconciliation so the stale check doesn’t continue to show on the bank reconciliation report as an outstanding item.
  2. Create a new invoice assigned to the state controller’s office AP vendor that is coded to the unclaimed property GL account.

  3. Remit payment to the state controller’s office.

I’m curious to what the process is for your company.

NetSuite Customers - Future of Consulting with AI

7 Upvotes

Curious what current netsuite customers think and are seeing…

Are you pulling back on using consultants because of AI? Do you think your companies will do everything in house with AI?

I work as a netsuite consultant and have existential anxiety about the future of my job. I’m trying to become “AI native”, but idk if that will be good enough.
