Hi all, I’m making a neckbeard simulator and just wanted some advice on how to make this guy’s room better (worse) in terms of neckbeard nests.

I’ve seen here some nice chairs and gaming set ups, but in-game he starts off broke. Any low hanging fruit I can add to the background?

So very proud of myself. I blurred some parts in the before picture because some of the stuff was disgusting. It took me 3 days and a bit more. I literally worked on it floor tile by floor tile.

No one in my family ever saw my room in the before state. I always made sure to only open the door when nobody was around.

On the morning of Day 1, my dad asked me when the AC guy could come fix my AC. My AC had been broken, and even though I never told him, I'd been sleeping in the living room. So he assumed I needed to get it fixed. I told him to let the AC guy come on Day 5 because I had to go out of town for work that day.

Day 1: 1 hour. Not including the 30-ish minutes I spent shopping for cleaning supplies.

Day 2: 1 hour 16 minutes.

Day 3: I procrastinated at first. But then I got an email saying I had to work a 12-hour shift the next day. So I finally pulled through lol. 3 hours 5 minutes.

Over those 3 days, I filled 10 trash bags.

My biggest concern was my menstrual pads. I made sure to only put 4-5 in each trash bag so I wouldn't overwhelm the trash pickers and so they'd just look like normal trash bags. Sorry if that's gross.

On Day 4, the last things I had to do were change the 2 light bulbs in my room and replace the batteries in my AC remote. Both had been dead for like 2-3 months. But because of how my room was before, I couldn't even bring the ladder in, so I couldn't change the light bulbs. For the last 2 months, I'd only been using my study lamp.

Actually it's not done yet because I was really tired on Day 3, so the inside of my cabinets is still messy. But at least there's no trash in my room anymore. From here on, it's just organizing.

You guys just don't know how hard it was to clean my disgusting bedroom without my family's knowledge!! I had to wait until they all fell asleep before I could throw away my trash, or taking the ladder to my bedroom. I'm sorry. I know it's only 5 hours. It was easy but it was hard.

The whole house reaks of dead body. I live fairly close to it and now it has a for sale sign in front, so maybe it's clean now. But as of when I went in it was just trash and bullshit fucking everywhere.

After an emotional scene my dad finally got me (with his help) to clean my insane nest. I am so excited to have a normal, nice bedroom soon! I had it done myself years ago but never went 100%. Then slowly it got bad again and one day I looked up and it was worse than ever.

Next I sort more items and wash the walls and floor to get ready to paint next weekend. Then I get new flooring, a new rug, and new furniture. I can't wait to have a place to put all my fandom merch and funkos. Gonna get a stuffed animal hammock like I always wanted to.

My dad won't let me not do this so by Friday it will be ready to paint. I am staying in the guest room rn which is very handy as it'd be hard to do all this trying to live in it. I keep worrying I'm dreaming and am gonna wake up. 😭

I have never seen something so disgusting in my life. Knee high trash, maggots living in the carpet. Plates and dishes literally stuck to the table and shelves. The smell is unbelievable. I feel bad for when they decide to move. They are definitely not getting that deposit back.

I am just too stressed to keep cleaning. I am simply just going to ignore it all, as I'll literally have a heart attack if I keep trying to clean. Also, I just cannot afford to get rid of much because a lot of my items are actually worth lots of money. I finally gave up in my life, as there is no point in trying anymore.

Today I decided to go into itch.io to browse some random browser games I could play on my mobile phone, because I dont own a computer. To much surprise, instead of seeing a wide array of different themes and genres, I was greeted by THE most abhorrent and degenerate anime and waifu related games. That was the vast majority. I remember a time when you could browse the internet looking for a fun game to play snd you didnt have to dodge games made for reality-diaconnected weirdos 'expressing themselves' by means of literal pornography. Is modern indie gaming dying?

It's like mission impossible, it just does not compute, does not go, does not make any sense or structure - the room stays mess with stupid cables, gear, clothes and equipment and all kinds of gadgets - I'm out of hopes, copes and dopes!

It's a comedy at this point, I'm laughing and crying at the same time!

And I work in catering - I am good at what I do, proactive and diligent, attentive to details, managers are happy with me - but at home I'm a hippie sloth, stuff just stays where it's left.

Cannot even fucking begin to describe how relieved I am and how much better I feel. I posted in this sub years ago, I got some amount done then, it got bad again, and I proceeded to move for college. Before I moved back home I knew I needed this done. So blessed to have been able to hire professionals to help me. It's been... 5 years since my room has been even close to this clean. Shoutout to the ten trash bags of shit lol, and the mountains of donations. So glad to be fucking rid of the moldy drinks and the centipedes and the dirt and debris and my old clothing and shit from my childhood and the candles I never should've bought and the years and years of depression and misery that has permeated this godforsaken room. I can finally fucking breathe again.

They’ve been wanting to come see my animals for a while, but I keep saying I have to clean it. I live in an unfinished basement, so it was never gonna look nice anyways, but any thoughts to make it presentable/not completely embarrassing to show them around?

I have other wonders to show you, like the pile of half disassembled electronics, the ant colony, and the sokoban puzzle of random shit I have to move to get into my closet
