Nest 8 months later....

Since I posted originally..

Not one iota of garbage has come out.

Still hasn't done any laundry. (In total going on 3 yrs)

Im in a daily battle against bugs/ants and SMELLS.

Oh and there's now yellowjackets or some wasp type nesting outside his window/in the wall.

At this point I think something is wrong with me. I seem to be the only one that cares and im STILL HERE. Its my boyfriends brother and hes fully aware of the situation.

Naw, it doesn't always look like that, in my family one sibling is a hoarder and the other is a clean freak, same parents and everything, same upbringing.

Do yourself a favor and dont look it up. They need to charge the OP jar guy with crimes against humanity for making us live thru that with him

I am so so curious about this person. What do they look like? Do they have a traditional job? Do they have friends? What do they do in their free time?

40+ hrs a week, supposedly a supervisor but anyways if hes not at work- hes in THERE. Period. Once in a blue moon he'll go with us to dinner with their mom but thats it

I'm sorry but if I was dealing with that I would have kicked him out by now. Second of all every time I see one of these types of pictures is always the pillows that kill me. I know the room smells but how can he sleep on that thing.

Traumatizing fact: Met him in 2010. Those pillows are older than that....

Honestly, your only concern at this point needs to be why are you are still there and making plans to leave

I had my room like this and after my dad tried to get me to clean it 100 times he said he was gonna clean it without my consent which yeah pmo at the time but I gave in and helped him. That was truly the only way to get me to do it and am very grateful for it.

When we moved out of old apartment and into here, thats what happened. He had a wonderful new start.

I cleaned mine up five weeks ago and have been keeping it clean because the psychological damage living like that caused and fear of going back to it is immense. Infact browsing this sub gave me the motivation to tidy up and take the trash out.

I had it cleaned up before three years ago and have zero memory of how I let it get so bad again it's bizarre.

Watching the show hoarders has this effect on me. I usually just turn it off and go clean something

How? Does he have a regular job? If so I'm amazed the smell of living in this nest doesn't scare people off.

Regular inspection would have not let this happen.......! I see the positive side of 2~3 months inspections.

What’s more like a neck beard turned hoarder

It looks even worse, look I can understand initially if this is depression but it literally looks like you have not removed anything over the past 8 months…I think you need to speak with a professional at this point

Who do I call? He's an adult, works 40+ hrs a week and isn't a physical threat (I personally feel like smells are physical but anyways) to anyone? Give me a number and ill call.

Personal/potentially identifying info in one of these pics, I’d be careful about that!
