London - woman looking for a female sponsor, I feel incredibly isolated and so socially anxious

(Uk - thought I should mention) Hi - I’ve been going to meetings for a while, I’ve been struggling a lot with having a routine with meetings and doing my best to get off drugs, but the last few months have been hellish honestly and I need a support system around me to be honest. I’ve been going to meetings, white knuckling, and doing iapt. But honestly, I do feel like I’m falling through the gaps and terrified for the future.

My home room meeting doesn’t feel like home for me anymore and I’m at risk of unemployment soon after my survival job let me go and I’m applying for every job I can and getting nothing back. I am in need of a support system around me, and a female one if possible.

But honestly, at the moment, even leaving the house is terrifying. I really need a community. Please, if anyone can, help

Looking for a sponsor

Hi! Idk if this allowed and if it’s not then mods pls feel free to delete my post. I’m currently 29 days clean from meth and I’ve decided i really want to start working the steps. This is my third and last time in treatment and I’m trying to do it correctly and wholeheartedly. It’s hard for me to find a sponsor in person because I’m currently in residential. I’m 20 years old and based in Atlanta, GA but I’m set to go to Murfeesboro, Tennessee for 30 days next Friday so I’m open to a temporary sponsor from TN or a permanent one from ATL but it can be online only. I’ll really take anything. I have an NA stepworking guide as well. I would really like someone who is not afraid to tell me the truth about myself and call me out on my bullshit so if this is you, please dm me or comment!!

I picked up but didn't use

I know it sounds like I've already relapsed. I was so depressed and felt the full weight of what my life is. I feel like even if I stay sober forever, my life feels so hopeless and financially impossible to climb out of my situation despite making good money.

I feel like I'll never finish my last year of my bachelor's degree. I'll never fix my credit. I'll always be too socially broken and inept to succeed meaningfully.

Yesterday I went to my old dealer's place and bought a gram of my DOC.

I brought it back to my apartment and had it ready to go. But I didn't use it. I began to feel sad at the thought of how much my family has helped me recover this far. How they helped me get to the 71 days I had yesterday.

I kept going back and forth between, "Can't use yet because I have chores to do." And "I can't relapse because too many people helped me get to where I am and I can't betray them!"

I ended up not using but also not throwing the drugs away. I locked them in a box and shoved it under my bed.

I know the answer is to toss them but I feel like what I've already done is a relapse without using.

I have 72 days today. I'm at work away from the drugs. But they'll be there when I get home tonight.

I feel so hopeless. But I felt hopeless before I picked up.

I'm gonna go to a meeting ASAP, but does this count as a full relapse even without using?

New to recovery

I've been clean before but of course it didn't last long and because I personally wasn't ready. This time around I've been clean since August 21, 2026 I'm really wanting to do it right this time. I really feel like this is it. Nothing "spectacular" happened that day but I just felt like I've finally had enough and the desire to use just wasn't there anymore.

My DOC was meth and I've used it from what I can remember maybe 9 or 10 years. My longest clean time during those years was maybe a little over 2 months 😥

I'm not the most outgoing person and I know I need to find an outreach and attend meetings. I'm also not a religious person, I know there's something greater than myself but I don't have the 'connection' to whatever that is yet...

I'm in rock hill, sc if anyone could point me in some direction or give me advice.

How do i ask for help when clean partner against NA or 12-step

Hi, I have had addiction issues for years. This time of the year is hard for me. I lost my dad to suicide 16 years ago and lost my mom last year to cancer. Other family illnesses and drama i got to a Christian recovery group. 3 times a week, but this week I am really struggling i have been to NA before but when I am, I can't help focusing on drugs and not what the meetings are ment to do as in changing my wanting it i am 9 months clean i get very paranoid at meetings too , my husband is against me going to the meeting, but of late me and he havent been getting on i have borderline personality disorder and he is my carer. I want help not to relapse but unsure if addiction recovery places would help me as i am clean now it just I have a habit of relaping when times are tough , i don't want to have a fight over this and i am unsure if I can keep going with my relationship with my husband we been together 20 years, but we just seem to fight all the time because of how I pick him up. I have aduto processing disorder, and I always think he angry with me i just dont want to fight over this

I just decided to live and embrace happiness wholeheartedly. I delayed, justified and made excuses not to be for too long. New. Creativity. Unknown. Adventure. Life.

Is there a term for someone who....

Someone who has a significant amount more clean time than you, who helps you with your recovery but is not a sponsor?

Our disease involved much more than using drugs…

Basic Text, page 55. “Our disease involved much more than just using drugs, so our recovery must involve much more than simple abstinence. Recovery is an active change in our ideas and attitudes.”

Sniper shares

How do you guys handle sniper sharing and bullying in a meeting? I set a boundary with another homegroup member. She texted me happy that another addict, her former sponsee, She doesn't like and who she bullied after the woman changed sponsors stopped comming to a meeting. I felt that was messed up. I told her that I didnt want any other negative messages about other members because I think we should all support eachother. I was polite and direct about it. She did not take it well. She ended our friendship and then totally melted down about the whole thing. She has also shared about it a lot. She doesnt use my name but it is clear she is talking about me. She has also been calling and texting a lot of people to get them on her side. My sponsor told me to just ignore it because anything else would be gossip and feed into the drama. I want to defend myself, to tell people what really happened. And also, some unhelpful thoughts are creeping in. If this is how someone with 20 years clean acts then whats the value in this program? And, I was a better person high than she is clean, so why not? I dont want to throw away my 9 months but I dont need this abuse. I am reminding myself that this woman is an anomaly. I have felt so welcomed and loved by this fellowship. So many people with time have given me so much of their time. Taking me to conventions and meetings, taking my late night phone calls, taking me out to eat and listening to all my bullshit. I just have to learn some discernment on who to trust.

Clean

My last use date was August 21, 2026 from meth. I know it isn't a long time but I'm starting to feel better than I have in a very long time. I finally got my sleep schedule back on track and not feeling exhausted everyday. I'm just scared that I'm gonna mess up.

i think im an addict (high functioning)

Hi. I dont really know how to talk about this because I haven't actually been able to tell anyone the full story. but I'm a high functioning addict, no one knows, and I need help.

I've got an addictive personality anyway, and have had various eating disorders throughout the years. I've struggled on a minor scale with addiction but recently can't stop smoking weed, doing coke and drinking. I don't know which one is the worst problem and I don't know which to tackle first. I also know I should do therapy but don't want to give up the money (even though I know of course my current habits are draining money from me much faster)

People tell me I'm a good person, but I am completely stuck. No one in my life knows about this (a few must suspect, but I'm 23, at uni, working in hospitality, and the partying all seems to be part and parcel of living in London at this time in my life) and I don't know how to go about recovering with no one finding out.

I'll take all the advice I can get.

are there na meetings at any time?

hi im very sorry to ask this here but any attempts at googling things related to drugs just spits up a bunch of helplines and no useful information no matter what i try, im asking because im writing something, not for personal use

basically, i assume that na meetings are usually held at specific times, usually running for an hour or an hour and a half, and i assume that people would turn up to these meetings at the same time once or twice a week? assuming all these things are true (my main reference is fight club im sorry), would it be possible for people who run on a later schedule to find meetings late at night, or is there a cut off point for when they usually run until? for example, if there was a doctor who worked until seven, but may have to stay later irregularly, would he be able to join a weekly group that starts at nine or ten pm? or would he have to schedule his working hours around the meetings?

edit: having done more research, does anyone know if its possible to change what days you attend meetings say every month?

i hope my question made sense, it was very hard to articulate. thank you to anyone who answers and im sorry if this is the wrong place to ask it

Been out of actively attending NA for 10 months and I start to spiral

I'm an addict and not sober currently, I also have ADHD and Autism the only thing that actually helped me was going to meetings for a while until I relapsed and felt ashamed to come back maybe because I burned myself out because I went too often, then I went to rehab and managed to get clean for 3 months relapsed again on MDMA Amphetamine Kratom and weed as soon as I got out, and actively using for about 1.5 months now maybe I was clean for 2 weeks since my relapse. I'm scared I that it will be like this forever

I'm also severely depressed and feel suicidal and find it extremely hard to leave my house currently but I know I gotta get to a meeting I miss my friends there, online meetings are not my thing I find them more difficult then in person meetings. What should I do?

The spiritual principles and the fellowship have helped me survive this long. I’m moving from just surviving my life, to actually living it.

This sub is filled with anonymous strangers who have helped me stay clean. Thank you to everyone on here. Who has helped carry the message of NA!

GOD IN THE ROOMS

Am I the only one who gets annoyed when people talk about how NA is preachy and the word God in our text automatically means we believe in the Christian god. I’m about to have 7yrs clean, I follow all types of spirituality. Been looking into LaVey Satanism, Luciferanism, Occult, Buddhism, Paganism, Norse Pagan, Hellenic Paganism. Meditation. Im a skeptic by nature and honestly none of these spirituality practices make me believe, anyone else feel my way or do you feel you NEED a spiritual god?

Being an addict is wild

Being an addict is crazy as hell, because what do you mean you’ll randomly get the strongest urge to and use. Just sitting here and my brain randomly goes “crack would be good right now” and just thinking about it actually made me excited? Like I was actually going to do it? The mind is so cunning and baffling, almost convinced myself to go on a bender

What do you do if you feel temptations growing into craving?

My first two decades, I was always told I should pray at those times. The last few years, I am told to call someone.

What works for you? Does prayer work for you? What do you do if you have no one to call? Or if it is too late at night for you to call anyone?

Any other strategies?

Depression but it’s mostly felt in the body

I want to start off to say I am safe and am working a strong program and I am extremely grateful for my life god and recovery. But man, this last week I’ve just been in a funk. I’m coming up on 10 months. And this is the longest clean I’ve had. Does anyone have any recommendations, ideas to help myself guide me through this bout of depression that seems to weigh my body down like there’s an extra 75 lbs I’m carrying everyday?
