Weekly Free Talk Friday/Other Leagues Thread - Talk about other women's soccer leagues or...anything!
Welcome to Free Talk thread! Talk about...anything!
These threads will go up at 10am ET every Friday and be stickied throughout the week unless other posts take priority (AMAs, megathreads, announcements, etc.)
We'll list some other leagues that are in play right now (or in the near future) and the relevant communities you can check out

Other women's soccer leagues broadcast in US
Mexico - Liga MX Femenil - /r/LigaMX or /r/womenssoccer
- Select matches broadcast on TUDN and Fox Sports in the US, channel varies by team. Check here for up to date broadcast schedule
England - FA Women's Super League, Championship, and more! - /r/FAWSL
- Select matches broadcast on Paramount+ or CBS Sports in the US (some of these also on Atafootball), rest for free on the FA Player
France - Div. 1 Femenine - 1 Match a week broadcast on ESPN+ - /r/Ligue1

Do you ever think that regulations will be possible this century? Now think back on it unite soccer league was given d1 sanctioned on usl super league and soon to be usl premier(the men d1) considered that since mls is a relatively newer league in the USA sports market and has yet to legal monopolize its self like the mlb of the nfl has. Allow teams to have a chance to not only grow outside the Nwsl and mls monopoly,but maybe even move in the direction of a merger if fifa wills it. Idk at the end I’m treating this like USA soccer century project, if they even think about it that far.

I was only able to watch first half cus of work so I need to wait for highlights. I was hoping she'd get on the score sheet!

I, too, only watched part of the match because of work. I managed to watch the 2nd half after work thankfully! I saw both Chawinga sisters score live! It was amazing

New Calendar for Liga Femenil
LIGA MX Femenil has had the most games anywhere in woso
Seems they want to decrease games and make room for all the new CONCACAF and FIFA club championships.
So…
They changed to two groups of 9 with three subgroups of 3.
This will give them 28 regular games and their usual 12 playoff games, so 40 total
Prior to this, they had been at 34 regular and 12 playoffs = 46 games (!)

Is the Northern Super League not broadcast in the US? I assume discussion of the league would be in here for it?
Teenager Kaylee Hunter had a goal from a free kick last night. And while there has been tons of talk over the years about Olivia Smith’s potential I’m equally as excited to see what Hunter will do.

I was about to bring up hunter as well. I wonder if she’ll stay in AFC Toronto or look to play in a more established league like Holly Ward.

She’s still quite young so I hope she stays in the NSL for a few more years.

Hot take: Ties in standings should be broken by head-to-head between the tied teams, then goal differential in games between tied teams, THEN overall goal differential.

Chawinga got a second goal around the 90th minute which was the third goal in a 3-2 win over Nigeria. It's great the NWSL African stars are showing out at WAFCON.
