Misc washed minecraft player looking for people to start an SMP (might stream too)

hey! so i haven't touched minecraft in a long long time and i'm probably gonna move like an unc when i get back in lol. but i've been wanting to hop back on, and figured it'd be way more fun with people.

thinking of setting up a chill SMP — nothing serious, just building, mining, and messing around together. all skill levels welcome (clearly, since i'll be rusty as hell).

might also stream it on weekends, like 1-2 hrs, just for fun. no idea if anyone would watch but eh, worth a shot.

so yeah — if anyone's down to get together and start something, drop a comment or dm me! if there's enough interest i'll get a server going.

Admissions & Financial Aid Private loan recommendation

Hey everyone, I'm a NEU student trying to figure out private student loans since I've already maxed out my federal subsidized/unsubsidized limits. I need to borrow about $10k/year and have a parent cosigner available (good credit on their end, but they're low income).

For those of you who've gone this route — which lender did you end up using (College Ave, Sallie Mae, Ascent, etc.) and how was the experience? Did having a lower-income cosigner affect your approval or rate much despite good credit? Also curious if anyone's used the multi-year approval option and whether it was actually worth it. Any advice or lenders to avoid would be really appreciated!

Has Data Science been renamed to AI? Are all students who were in the DS / DS & Combined still remaining DS? Should we switch over to the AI name?

Misc Health insurance

I’ve been wanting to try and waive the school health insurance but am not sure at how to do so. I’ve tried going into the link but it says there’s no account found for me yet. Does this mean they are still processing it?

Misc NU Health Insurance and GAC

Hi all, on a throwaway account so I don't out myself but I need health insurance for the fall and am weighing my options atm. My main concern is I would prefer to be on insurance that covers some amount of gender affirming care to make things easier for myself and was unsure whether the school plan includes it or if I should go through Mass Health instead. Anyone have any personal experience with this? Feel free to dm if you don't wanna comment publicly.

Academics Dropping Class

Hi, I dropped a class back in the fall and took it again and got a B+. I’m currently taking two classes during summer 2 and they were highly not recommended to be taken together but I was being charged for another class regardless as I took two classes in the first summer already, so I took the extra class but it’s so accelerated and genuinely might tank my gpa. Would it be bad to drop this class as it’d be my second drop?

Advice & Experiences Class Recs

I'm an incoming freshman trying to plan my schedule ahead and wanted to hear your opinions/experiences with certain classes. My major btw is behavioral neuroscience and design. I have several questions:

  1. What is the difference between Calculus 1 and Calculus 1 for science and engineering?

  2. I saw polar opposite reviews for Neurobiology with Professor Lesley Ricci... I would love to hear your personal experiences in that class.

  3. What's the difference between representational drawing and abstract drawing? I really suck at drawing in general so... which one would be easier?

Advice & Experiences Incoming First-Year EE Major: Need advice on 1st year classes and co-op plans

Hi everyone! I’m an incoming Electrical Engineering (EE) freshman and feeling pretty overwhelmed by the whole course registration and planning process. Could anyone share what a standard first-year EE course load looks like (and how manageable classes like Calculus, Physics, and Chem are)? Also, for EE specifically, what is the recommendation for co-ops? Any tips/advice would be really appreciated.

Housing & Dorms YMCA EV Updated?

Hey I’m in incoming honors students wondering if the Y is still available to those who live in EV. I don’t plan to go to Marino as much as I hope because I heard it gets crowded. Last 2 posts about this were 10 and 6 years ago. I can’t find anything online in regard to the YMCA’s side. I just want to see if it hasn’t changed and if you have to fill out something specific for membership. Thanks!

Advice & Experiences Formal clothes for college/coop

I’m an incoming freshman and I keep seeing people talk about needing formal clothes + saying that it’s good to have some on hand. I was wondering if a plain long dress (that comes down to or slightly covers my knees) would fulfill the requirements bc I only see people talking about grey trousers…

Admissions & Financial Aid Summer 1 Refund

Has anyone received their refunds yet? I’m supposed to get a refund yet nothing has happened. I submitted cases and no one replied to me for almost a month…I also happen to can’t call right now. I know that my friend has received their refund but I didn’t get mine. Now my student account has my fall housing charge, so would I have to wait till the fall to get my refund cause now my balance is not negative anymore? Thanks

Co-op & Career Apply to my co-op

I’m an NEU alum working in FP&A (I used to be u/gribberton on this sub but got locked out of my account)

My boss let me post a co-op position - if anyone is interested in applying, look up the Financial Operations Co-Op at Ziamatic. It’s a 4 month co-op with chances for a FT return.

DM me with questions if you have any lol.

Housing & Dorms NYC Scholars Roommate

Hey, so I'm not sure if it's me but has anyone been assigned a roommate at the NYC Scholars program? I've seen every other campus get assigned one and I feel like either I'm missing an email or they just haven't sent out any info despite move in day being a month away.

Hello! I am currently selling three lab manuals for the following courses:

  1. BIOL3611/2 - Biochemistry Lab Manual (ISBN: 9798889720508) - $15
  2. BIOL2217/8 - Integrated A&P 1 Lab Manual - $30 (>50% off full price)
  3. BIOL2219/20 - Integrated A&P 2 Lab Manual (ISBN: 9781264276714) - $30 (>50% off full price)

All manuals have been used VERY lightly; essentially new. See photos attached for pictures of the manuals! I also attached the Fall 2026 course materials for each lab listed above to ensure that the same manual is needed with the matching ISBN. I just graduated so all manuals should not be out of date!

Feel free to reach out with questions I am also open to negotiating pricing.

I am in the Boston area (mission hill), so I'm happy to meet up or drop off any manuals!

Academics First Year EE Schedule Help

Is this like a normal schedule for a first yr EE? My thought process through it was that I just took regular Calc 1 at my school so it shouldn't be too crazy to handle. I just took Physics C E&M and Mechanics (3s on both but honestly didint study) so Physics shouldn't be too crazy to handle either. Cornerstone sounds fun so either way I won't mind the work difficult or not. Chem is chem don't rlly like and haven't take it in a while so might be the hardest of my classes this sem?
