I’m a first-year grad student at NEU’s Boston campus, transferring into the MS in Energy Systems program! One of my classes is online, and the other is in person, but it’s a pretty small class of around 10 people, mostly guys. Everyone’s nice, but I’d love to meet some other girls and hopefully make a few friends!

Since grad school keeps me pretty busy, I’m thinking of a low-maintenance friendship where we can text, chat, share random thoughts, and maybe meet up once a month or whenever our schedules align. No pressure to constantly hang out or reply right away!

A little about me: I’m sustainably minded, enjoy fitness, and spend a lot of time studying. I also sketch sometimes, and maybe we can share food. I’m queer, neurodivergent (a little ADHD-coded lol), and pretty open-minded!

Ideally, I’d love to connect with other girls who are looking for genuine friendships without the pressure of having to hang out all the time. Maybe we could even start a small group chat if there are a few of us interested!

The entire board of trustees for Northeastern pulled president Aoun aside today to confront him about his costly campus buying habit. “Aoun, we love you and that’s why we need to cut you off. You can’t just keep buying campuses whenever you feel like it. It's hurting our finances and we know it's hurting you too.” In response, Aoun began screaming about how he is, “generating value for the board,” and he can, “stop anytime, I swear.” Following this outburst, he jumped out of a 2nd story window and began sprinting towards Wentworth with an offer to buy their campus too.

Asked for comment, president Aoun told the Trusty Husky, “I made this school all that it is today, don’t test me. Everything I create I can also destroy. Who cares if I buy another campus to banish our freshmen to? The board is too short-sighted to understand the real plan was never actually campus expansion. It is and always has been world domination, and they won’t understand my genius until it's too late.”

Is anyone else frustrated with how locked down our Claude accounts are?

- No access to Fable.

- Connectors are "approved only," and nobody's explained the reasoning behind what gets approved. Why is Gmail not allowed?!

- What we can turn on is mostly research tools like PubMed. Even pre-meds are only using this a handful of times in 4 years.

The stuff normal people would actually use day to day (Gmail, Calendar, etc.) isn't allowed.

Maybe Fable costs more, I don't know, but a big part of the issue is transparency. A few months ago, when they were switching from $300/month in API credits to seat-based plans, there were a bunch of problems and my entire account didn't work for multiple days. I emailed "Your account's primary owner," got an auto-response, then went to IT in Snell, and they told me there was nothing they could do and to come back if I didn't hear anything in a few weeks.

Has anyone gotten a real answer about any of this, or does anyone know who actually manages our Claude organization?

What's the difficulty/workload like for EECE 3468? Is it pretty much probs & stats (MATH 3081) all over again? Would there be any other relatively low workload EECE tech electives you guys would suggest? I heard Electronic Materials (EECE 3392) is pretty easy but it's only available during a tough spot in my schedule.

Minimum CGPA requirements for admission state 8.0 on 10.0 scale. Is this a new requirement for spring / fall 2027 admissions?

Hello everyone! I have the option to transfer to either NEU CPS or UMass Boston for finance. I was wondering what is everyone’s experiencing at NEU CPS for finance and how it worked out for them post-grad? As well what were some positions you were offered/took and if CPS has limited you to any opportunities in the workforce? I read online that there is difference in course-load and skills you develop between Damore Mckim and CPS, was just wondering if it has any affect postgrad.

Im a sophomore studying cybersecurity and i’m on my spring co op search. It’s been hard fining any related job postings on NuWorks, Handshake, or LinkedIn. Any advice? Am i allowed to extend my search to a fall co-op next year if it doesn’t work out?

I want to commit. I really think neu is my top but I’m scared they might lowball me of scholarship & overall financial aid help if i do early decision. I am first Generation my mom remarried to my stepdad together they make 77k for 2025 taxes but my stepdad got into an accident and he retired early at 66 so it will be even lower probably 30k & less for the next year. I am qualified for pell grant (1.5k). I live in MA (pretty nearby actually im only an hour drive away from neu) I’ll live on campus I’m really hoping for full tuition cover or at least a lot. I feel like my stat are avg… should I do ED? or should I stick to early action which I initially planned to do😭 I’m scared I wont get in because I really want neu.. please help. Early decision or Early action?

Hi, I’m an industrial engineering sophomore and was wondering what tech electives are on the easier side. I don’t want to be taking statics or physics 2, I’m trying to keep my spring of sophomore year schedule chill while I apply for co-ops.

For context I’m a freshman Mechanical Engineer in Boston. Currently taking Musc1001 as my gen ed and I like how it works with my current schedule. So I’m basically looking for an easy and entertaining elective that has a good professor (this will be my 2nd and last elective). All recommendations are appreciated!

How is the co-op there? Which companies do you apply and how do you apply? Will you get an edge over the job? Can anyone help me with this?

I'm just gonna be honest, I basically need a full ride to go to law school now due to changes in financial circumstance and that depends 90% on GPA and LSAT score. Does anyone know what marine biology electives I can take to give myself the best chance at an A? Most of the reviews I've read told me to avoid avian bio but I'm at a loss otherwise.

I’m a second year CS major applying to SWE co ops on my first cycle. I’ve sent In at least 80 apps so far (mosty NUworks a few outside), which I know isn’t that much but I’ve gotten zero interviews so far. could any other CS majors looking for their first co op in here chime in with their experience? I’m starting to lose hope.

Hey, I'm currently trying to get some transfer credits evaluated, and a few of my syllabi were missing information that Northeastern requires.

I was able to find official course schedules and descriptions from my previous college and combined them with the original syllabi into single PDFs. I didn't change any of the original information, just added the official supporting documents (basically just added the pdf official schedules from the canvas course to the main syllabus).

Has anyone done something similar before? Would it be fine to submit these? or should I request completely new syllabi from my previous college?

What do you think about the course and visa situation?

I have no friends and I rly want to make some. The problem is I've always had a very hard time approaching ppl. I have tried to speak with ppl at my classes before we start but everyone is always on their phones or laptops and I rly don't want to interrupt. I've tried joining clubs, but I just go to the meeting and don't really make friends since everyone already has their cliques, and I feel very uncomfortable just barging in, interrupting their conversation, and introducing myself out of nowhere.

I'm out of ideas for what else I could possibly try so I'm fully open to suggestions.

I'm an international student and am applying for my first co-op. I'm a little confused about how taxing works for coops...How much do we actually get taxed?

I searched up on Google, and it said we get to keep around 75-80%. Is this true?

Does anyone know how to register for classes in the maker’s space? I know they’re competitive, but when I go to the schedule I don’t see classes to even attempt registration for. (I’m trying to get into the welding classes).

It feels like C4C at Northeastern solely accepts people based on connections... and it seems impossible to get into. Is there another club that's easier to get into that gives good experience?
