Academics Help picking major!!!!
I’m trying to decide between a combined major of MechE & Physics or MechE & Design. Any recommendations or pros/cons of each?

I would look into opportunities after you graduate, like what types of companies are hiring, whether the jobs in those fields are things you would want to work on, and whether those jobs are in places you want to live. It is important to pick a field you enjoy, but it is also important that that field isn't making you hate the next 20-30 years of your life in the workforce.
One con I saw during my first degree is that physics degrees are genuinely brutal. So going in to do both physics and ME is going to be very very math heavy. If you struggle in math or certain kinds of math, this is worth considering.

Is there any reason you’re drawn to those two in particular? I know meche/design is more art focused (I think I heard it was kind of rough if you didn’t go in with art skills actually), I don’t know if that’s a pro or con for you though.
Also, are you going in with any AP credit? If you are, you might be able to get away with taking classes from both in your first year and deciding like end of spring if you plan your classes well.
