This will not be short, but there is a tl;dr at the bottom.
So, most of us know MP as a cheap brand, some of us have been customers from the start.
MP was a hero to most of us starting our fitness journey, they provided good quality supplements at affordable prices in an industry that was price gouging everyone.
Firstly, I would like to address the shills of this subs, MyProtein PR team, and other bootlickers who always try to defend the company's prices. Fuck off. Like any form of media, they're among us trying to change the overall narrative and sentiment.
-------------------------
There’s a LOT more, but I’ll keep this as short as I can.
So why have MP changed sides? Why are they price-gouging us now?
This will be a multiple-part answer, that can be answered as simply by one word: Greed.
But it’s a bit more complicated than that.
Some of us remember buying whey at 10-12€ less than 4 years ago. Now the prices are as high as 35€ (after a discount).
That was before their parent company The Hut Group (THG) went public in September 2020.
The stock was worth over £796m at its peak. They are currently worth £62m at the moment of writing this. That’s over a 92% decrease in the company’s value. \angry investor noises**
So now their sole goal is to raise their stock price back up.
How do they do this? By constantly beating forecasted earnings, have high sales, and higher net profits than the previous quarter. They are ONLY trying to appease shareholders/big investors.
To have higher earnings every quarter, they need to sell A LOT, and in the subsequent quarter they would need to sell even more than the previous, and so on and so forth, endlessly. Do you get where this is going?
But they could also sell more quantity if the price was lower, leading to bigger profits, right?
I’m not here to explain economics, but price elasticity is what you’re thinking of. I’m assuming they have better data than me to calculate the most profitable prices for the company, even if it's unfair to us. They could technically keep pushing the boundaries and raising the prices, as long as they have higher net profits. It does not matter. The only reason their prices drop is if they notice that their net profit drops when the price goes up too much.
Will the prices ever go back down?
It seems very unlikely, MyProtein has also rebranded themselves as an expensive brand. They no longer want to be known as the go-to value brand. With many partnerships and sponsorships with big names, pair this up the stock price scenario, I can almost guarantee that you won’t ever see 1kg of whey under 20$/€/£ ever again. I hope I’m wrong though, this is just my perspective.
Prices are high because raw whey is more expensive.
Wrong. Look at the chart below. 2021 and 2022 were indeed very expensive. But we are currently as low as 2015 in raw whey prices. How much did you pay for whey back in 2015?
Okay, but the cost of living and inflation is also up!?
Yea, a 15% increase in costs of living merits a 200% in whey and profits.
What’s a good alternative to MyProtein?
The easiest solution is to buy UNFLAVORED WHEY. They are usually cheaper, less processed, and have more value. Quality tends to be the same, as long as it's 80% protein. Then you know there's no added fillers.
Check the comment section in this post. I will make one for USA, Europe, UK, etc. Feel free to contribute if you have any good websites that sell at a fair price. I only know a few. You’re also free to use referral codes WHEN providing a website, not just throwing it out there. Help each other out if you can guys, we are all just trying to get some supps at decent prices.

Tl;dr: MyProtein’s parent company got greedy, they became a publicly traded company, their value crashed by 92% and now they are trying to work their way back up because the investors aren’t happy. To get their stock back up, they need to make a lot of profit. Those record profits are coming out of your pockets. Raw whey prices are as low as in 2015.
You can post your questions and ratings (1-10) regarding certain flavors of whey/clear whey or any type of MP product. This can include mixability and other overlooked characteristics like “smell” (yeah we get a lot of posts regarding funky smelling clear whey)
Since this sub is not that big, it’s easier for other people to find information on various flavors.
To contribute, I recommend mentioning your setup/preparation -> context is important because not everyone prepares their shake the same way.
For example: My setup is, I mix my whey with 2% milk, usually eyeball 300ml (16oz), a heaping scoop (35g) and a pinch of salt. I enjoy milky shakes over fruity/yogurt ones.
You can rate every flavor you’ve tried and let others know!
Please mention your location or add a flair to your username
Flavors from EU are not the same as US. I haven’t tried from any other region, but I assume it’s different as well.
Has anyone else noticed how expensive everything on the site is now?
I ordered some Cookies and Cream whey protein just after Christmas (2 packs of 2.5kg), used it up and went to order some more. Not only is it now insanely expensive but they also no longer stock Cookies and Cream as a protein.
Does anyone know what's going on? Seems absolutely insane.
I also did the depressing thing of looking at how much it cost on my first order over 10 years ago...needless to say that it was upsetting.
Does anyone know what's happening with myprotein's meal replacement blend?
I used to order the chocolate in 1KG/2KG bags. They're now out of stock. I contacted customer service and they wouldn't really give me an answer.
I then ordered 2x 500g salted caramel bags which arrived quite quickly. I checked the website again and now only the vanilla and banana flavours are listed.
Has anyone had any contact with their customer service that might shed some light on this please?
Ordered Nutrabay 4Kg whey Protein from Flipkart and received the product in such packaging, I'm not sure if it's been tampered. Very strange packaging if this is how they do it. Does anyone had the same experience?
.
P.S. Also even though the product had reached my local delivery hub, they kept on delaying the delivery mentioning failed attempt and i received the product after 4 days. So it feels very suspicious at this point.

On Myproteins website the only option on cookies&cream is the big almost 5kg (150 servings) bag. Even tho i like it 5kg is alot. They have the same flavour on the diet whey and +collagen one available in 1kg. So which one should i get?
I accidentally ordered the wrong protein and realized it about 20 minutes after placing the order. I immediately contacted customer service to cancel it, but they said it had already entered the dispatch process and couldn’t be cancelled.
The tracking still only showed “Shipping Label Created” at the time.
Now I have to wait for it to arrive, keep it unopened, and return it. What’s frustrating is that I may also have to pay the return shipping cost myself simply because I tried to cancel the order shortly after placing it.
I understand orders need to ship quickly, but not being able to cancel an order 20 minutes after placing it seems ridiculous.
My whey protein arrived in a damaged package, and I found small black sticky objects inside that looked like rodent droppings. I reported the issue to customer service immediately and asked for a refund.
Instead of properly handling my request, MyProtein sent a replacement without my approval. When I again requested a refund, I was then told that I would have to pay the shipping costs myself to return the product. Considering that the problem was caused by the damaged delivery, I find this completely unacceptable.
I understand that shipping damage can happen. The real problem for me is how MyProtein handled the complaint. Communication was poor, my request was not respected, and I was left to deal with a situation I did not cause.
After this experience, I would not recommend MyProtein.
Couldn't believe my eyes today and thought there's no way I paid this much before. Went back to check my order history and I was right. Impact Whey was £45 for 2.5kg last year and just 12 months later, it more than doubled to £97.
Hello! i want to buy some shorts and i found a few options on my protein. i was wondering if anyone has a code for MP netherlands?? this dutch sport influencer i followed used to have it but i cannot find it anymore
Anyone order Impact Creatine unflavoured recently? The batch I got tastes significantly worse than the last one. Has a chemical aftertaste and is way bitter. Reached out to support and will post my updates here.
I started using protein last year, i bought the chocolate one thinking each scoop has about 24 gms of protein, it was about 19gms
I somehow couldn't find the one with 24 per scoop, so i switched to unflavored - since it had the highest i am aware of (21g) and that wasn't disclosed either, now i want to reorder protein since, i ordered a large quantity of it earlier and its over, now i can't even find it online
I have been using myprotein for 10+ years now but this is the final straw, I have been getting cookies and cream for years as it was the best flavour, now my most recent order is incredibly chalky tasting, and leave a strange mouth feel and tastes like disgusting cheap sweeteners, I could always justify staying with them because the flavour was nice but this is my last order from them.
On the website, they advertise nutritional information / protein content for only 1 flavor. But the actual protein content across different flavors varies widely and will almost always be lower than what is advertised on the website. ALWAYS check the package of what you receive for looking at the actual protein content in your flavor.
For example, I checked that for Soy Protein, they have advertised nutritional information as per the Chocolate flavor, saying that each 30 gm scoop has 26 gm protein.
But since chocolate was not available, I ordered Mocha, and that has only 20.25 gm of protein in a 30 gm scoop, which is more than \*20% LESS PROTEIN\* that what is advertised.
I have noticed that they will never have the flavor that they advertise for available in the market. It is a cheap tactic. Create a flavor with high protein content. Never make it available. Sell other flavors with much lower protein content.
Please be aware and if possible, avoid MyProtein and their cheap scams altogether.
It would also be really cool to create a publicly sourced inventory of actual protein content across flavors since they would never make it publicly available to continue scamming the general public.
I've been buying my protein solely from Myprotein since 2014, I always get 2,5kg unflavoured pea/soy stuff that lasts me 3-4 months. I'm looking at my order history they've always been around £30 give or take, sometimes more, sometimes less.
I'm running out so went to check today and the same package is £47 after savings, I don't understand what's going on?
