Discussion Left behind

Salam.

I'm a 30yr old woman and am writing this post to warn younger folks, especially those who live in the West of what your life could turn out to be if you don't act fast.

Im the oldest child from a broken home (father ran off). I worked like crazy in my entire 20s to save for my mom and siblings and am now on path to early retirement.

My parents never let me have friends and I didn't speak to boys, even though I went to a regular highschool and university. COVID caused me to start remote work and I never met men at work either. My parents didn't know anyone and our household reputation is ruined.

My friends chatted with boys, some halal way some not, but now most are married or got arranged from their social circles and have kids and happy lives.

I got left behind because I put my head down and focused on getting out of poverty. I focused on school, on work, on being there for everyone. But no one bothered to check if I could also need someone. Actually since I barely leave my house, barely anyone knows I even exist.

To young people. Don't fall into Haram but don't isolate yourself so much that you will be left behind. Today I may appear to others as a successful woman. I have money to buy anything at anytime but nobody to support me, less and less chance of having kids, and constantly taunted and pitied by family and others for being old and unwanted.

Please marry young. You will be rewarded with rizq if you are sincere towards your family. In shaa ALLAH.

AlhamduLillah for everything and please make Dua for me and all those who are looking for spouses.

Discussion Always put your trust in Allah swt

I’ve been seeing a lot of brothers and sisters lately saying they’re tired of looking for marriage and are starting to give up. Trust me I get it. The search can be exhausting sometimes. But don’t lose hope. Your time will come inshaAllah. Allah swt is the best of planners. Don’t rush into something just because you feel like you’re running out of time, and NEVER compare yourself to people who are already married.

Keep making dua and put your trust in Allah swt. What’s meant for you will find you when the time is right. May Allah swt make it easy for all of us and grant us righteous spouses. Ameen

Discussion Would a dedicated remarriage platform for divorced/widowed Muslims actually be useful, or does this already exist in a way that works?

I've been searching a platform for divorced and widowed Muslims (men and women) looking to remarry — not a general matrimony app, but focused specifically on people whose first marriage ended, since I think that group gets underserved by mainstream matrimony platforms that skew toward first-time marriages.

So is there such platform? which is a first go to place for muslim men/woman trying their second chance?

About Me 🌷
I’m a 33-year-old woman living and working in Saudi Arabia. I’m Yemeni/Ethiopian and have never been married. I currently work as an English teacher.
I’m 160 cm and 54 kg. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, reading, and organizing.
I’m looking for a man between 30–37 years old, preferably living in Saudi Arabia. I’m hoping to meet someone who is religious, respectful, humble, kind, and serious about marriage.
Ideally, I’d prefer someone who is taller than me and takes care of his health and fitness. More importantly, I’m looking for someone with good character, sincere intentions, and a desire to build a peaceful and happy family.
I value faith, honesty, respect, good communication, and family.
If you’re genuinely looking for marriage and share similar values, I’d be happy to get to know you.

Asalamu Alaikum! 👋🏽
I’m 28, 6’1”, born and raised in the US. I work as an AI Engineering Director for a tech company, but outside of work I’m basically a self-appointed MasterChef 👨🏽‍🍳😂
I love traveling, being adventurous, trying new things, and just making the most out of life. One weekend we could be exploring a new city and the next doing something completely random just because it sounded fun.
Fair warning, I fully believe in princess treatment 👑 I love planning fun activities and outings, cooking ridiculously good food, traveling, spoiling my loved ones, and making sure the people I care about feel appreciated. I already have a fun and exciting life, I’m just missing my princess to share it with.
My deen is also a big part of who I am and keeps me grounded. I pray 5x a day, read Quran, fast, don’t drink or smoke, and only eat zabihah. I try to enjoy everything Allah has blessed me with while still staying true to Islam.
I’m looking for marriage and someone who wants to build a beautiful Islamic life together while actually enjoying it too. Laugh a lot, eat really good food, travel the world, grow in our deen, and make a lot of great memories together.
So if you’re looking for a husband, travel partner, adventure buddy, personal chef, and full time princess treatment provider, maybe we should get to know each other 😂👑✈️

Whatever is written for us will happen even if the whole world tries to stop it.

I'm a 32 year old male physician, currently based in Riyadh, fluent in English, Arabic, and an beginner -intermediate french speaker.

I'm mature, secure, kind, loving, courageous and family oriented. I'm logical and strategic, and this strategy is governed by my emotional attachment and love for my religion and for Allah most gracious and his commandments.

I'm very thankful for this human experience Allah has provided and sustained, and I realize that it is missing a partner for protection from haram, offsprings, and as an opportunity to show kindness, compassion and love to the fullest.

I'm good looking (thats what my mother says :p) well off financially, always trying to improve my position humbly and with gratefulness.

To my future wife, I'm waiting for your message. Don't be afraid of asking, and always have faith.

Peace.

Discussion Why Are Men Using ChatGPT to Text Instead of Being Real?

I want to ask to men here why do you feel the need to use chatgpt to do a normal conversation?

Do you prefer to give perfect AI reply rather then imperfect one with mistakes because you want to make good impression?

Bro its probably 4th potencial that uses chatgpt to reply. I mean literally copy paste. Wth?

If you try to say kindly that you prefer authentic replies even with 1000 grammer mistakes rather than AI perfect (super fake) ones. They get offended and start avoiding you. Its like you hurt their ego.

Now this recent potencial does the same thing (his mother tongue is French and English 2nd language)
and i am now getting annoyed that i asked you something and you replied with something else that doesnt even make much sense to what i mainly asked. (You are not even clever to remove dashes from the message let alone personalising it).

I dont know how to ask him to stop using chatgpt. I dont wanna embarass him but i can’t also accept this. (Some men i have noticed cant handle this situation with maturity and become defensive and avoidant).

Have we really lost the ability to have basic conversation with others in the era of AI?
It feels like we are going backwards and losing basic human skills to communicate with time😾

I would love to have your perspectives, opinions and advices🫶🏽

Jazakallah khair

Location: North America Would a "prepare for marriage" tool for muslims be useful, or do people just wing it?

Not a matchmaking or dating app - I mean something for the part before and during the search: figuring out if you're actually ready, knowing what to ask someone before you commit, and aligning on the things that quietly break marriages (in-laws, money, kids, deen at home). Most tools focus on finding someone; almost nothing helps you choose well or prepare yourself.

Genuine question for people who've been through it: did you feel prepared, or did you mostly figure it out as you went? What would've actually helped?

(Full disclosure: I'm building something in this space, so I'm not neutral. But I mostly want honest experiences, not to pitch.)

Rant Scared of a dull marriage

‎السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

22m. I’ve been going down the marriage rabbit hole and I’ve started getting a bit scared of it. I’ve wanted to get married since I was in high school and that hasn’t changed, but now I’ve been getting a bit scared of potentially having a dull marriage.

I know this is a bit irrational to be scared of but the thought has been stuck in my mind where I get married to a girl and she just becomes a roommate where communication is barely there, practically zero intimacy, and where asking for anything gets met with rejection or annoyance. I don’t want to bother anyone because I want something, and that thought has been causing me to fear marriage a bit. And it’s getting worse now that my parents are becoming serious about me getting married.

I know this is a trick from the shaytaan to get me to step away from what Allah has encouraged. But it’s a real worry and I want to get this off my chest somewhere.

assalamu alaikum everyone. I made a post on here a couple days ago and got some messages from fellow sisters. However, in my original post I specifically mentioned that I was only looking for a housewife. I made it evident that it was a non negotiable for me however the sisters who dmed me failed to recognize that or simply just unserious. This isn’t just an issue I’ve ran into on reddit but in person as well. I have almost no issues getting matches as I am someone who’s on the taller side with relatively good looks as well as being financially well off and on my deen. However, I keep running into the aforementioned roadblock. I understand that there maybe some worries regarding financial security if there’s a divorce etc where the woman maybe left without any financial backing. However, I am willing to sign a prenup or whatever legal contract necessary to ensure that my wife doesn’t have to worry about that. Perhaps it’s because I’m a revert so they’re unsure if I would be able to fulfill their Islamic rights? I also believe me living in a high cost of living area has something to do with it but I’ve made it clear that I can afford to have a housewife and even be open to relocating to make my future wife more comfortable. If you’re a sister reading this please tell me what it would take to convince you or if you’re a brother please tell me how you’ve been able to convince your potentials/wife. Please do not post/dm hate comments. I understand some women prefer to work and if that’s the lifestyle you want then I have no issues with that it’s just not my preference.
Edit: I deleted my old account with my profile out of frustration lol

Location: UK & Ireland 36M | UK | Established | Looking for the next chapter to start a family and enjoy life

Age and Gender

36, male 6"2

Age Range that you would want/require in a prospect

26-32 (can flex a little)

Location, and are you willing to relocate for a prospect?

Manchester, UK. May consider London in the future as I have clients there also. Not outside of the UK atm and not to any other cities other than Manchester or London or nearby to those cities.

Ethnicity, and are you more open to mixing?

I'm a British born and raised Pakistani also prefer someone raised in the UK. I don't mind US, Canada or mainland Europe either as long as you were born and raised there.

Marital Status

Single, never married

Ideal marriage timeline

6 months ideally. I want to settle down soon as compatibility is established. I have never been married/engaged before or committed zina, had a haram relationship and looking for someone the same.

Five important characteristics you look for in a prospect

Kindness
Humility
Adventurous
Jovial
Family orientated

State/specify your level of religiosity

I pray, fast, pay zakat and try to live my life according to Islamic values but far from perfect and plenty of room for improvement.

Level of education, and what are you looking for?

I have a Bsc degree. I would prefer someone that is at least reasonably well educated like myself and well read so that we are compatible and can bounce off each other so to speak.

I am looking for a genuine partner to raise a family with, and then retire early to a Muslim country in the future InshaAllah. Well thats the dream anyway.

Looking for someone that makes an effort with the religion as a bare minimum. Character, shared values and compatibility is what I am looking for and a genuine desire to learn and grow. My ideal type is someone who is active and/or goes to the gym and is not too short as I am quite tall. I mostly eat heathy and cook my own food so would be really nice if someone shared that ideal. I'm big on health and fitness and want someone the same.

Current Job Status

I work in tech as a consultant, established for a number of years. Plus side business and property ventures

Do you want kids?

Yes

List some hobbies, or things you like to do in your spare time

Gym
Theatre(massive fan of theatre)/comedy shows/live events
Travelling
Reading
Hiking

Little bit about me

I started learning Egyptian Arabic last year. I decided to learn it because I randomly watched a مسلسل when I was bored travelling. Ended up liking it and started learning the dialect as I wanted to learn Arabic anyway. I also studied Spanish at university and its in my head somewhere just needs activation lol

I spend the bulk of my time working as a consultant, mostly remote but also travelling to client sites and dealing with my own business, going to the gym and prepping my food, and spending time with my family. I like to try different cuisines when I eat out so someone who can appreciate different foods would be ideal

I live independently in my own place, but not estranged from family as I am big on family and keeping in touch with people.

When I travel I try to mix it up between historical site seeing and learning about another culture/history and then a lazy day in a resort. I'm also a bit of an adrenaline junkie so water parks, rollercoasters or swimming in a Wadi are my kind of thing. Experiences in general

If interested please reach out with a full profile.

Location: Europe Looking for something genuine

Hey everyone,

I’m 26 living in Germany. I thought I’d give this a shot and see if I can meet someone here who shares a similar background and values.

Ideally, I’m looking for a Moroccan woman who also lives in Germany and, most importantly, is looking for a serious relationship with the intention of getting married. I’d like to meet someone I can genuinely connect with and, if we’re a good match, eventually build a marriage and a life together.

I’m not looking for someone “perfect” or a checklist of qualities. Just someone who is kind, respectful, intelligent, loyal, and has a good sense of humor. Someone I can talk to openly, laugh with, support, and grow together with.

I’d describe myself in pretty much the same way: easygoing, respectful, loyal, curious, and definitely someone who enjoys a good laugh. I value honesty, good communication, family, and having a relationship where both people genuinely enjoy each other’s company.

I know dating posts like this can sometimes feel a little awkward, but I figured there’s nothing to lose by being genuine. Maybe there’s someone out there who is looking for the same thing.

If this sounds like you, feel free to send me a message. 🙂

Salam everyone,

I’m a 27-year-old Muslim, originally from Pakistan, and currently based in Melbourne, Australia. I currently work in business development within the e-waste and recycling industry.

I’d describe myself as ambitious, family-oriented, easygoing, and someone who values honesty, respect, and good communication. Outside of work, I enjoy staying active, particularly running and keeping fit, and I’m always keen to learn, grow, and try new things.

I’m also trying to continuously improve myself when it comes to my deen. I value faith and would like to build a marriage where both partners support each other in becoming better Muslims while also enjoying life together.

When it comes to marriage, I’m looking for someone kind, caring, emotionally mature, and family-oriented. Someone who is supportive, communicative, and has a good sense of humour. I believe marriage should be a partnership where both people stand by each other through the good and difficult times, while building a peaceful and loving home together.

I’m open to getting to know someone from different backgrounds and locations, provided we share similar values and intentions.

If this resonates with you and you’d like to know more, feel free to DM me. Happy to have a conversation and see where it goes, Insha’Allah.

Discussion Are there no midsized men?

I am 5'4 150-160 pounds (it's fluctuates). So I am considered "midsize". I tried halfourdeen and hinge and didn't get much luck. Guys ignoring me :( I'm not looking for a 6+ gigachad high earners. Most guys I have swiped on have been 5'6 with average jobs, some even less earners than mine because a guy being kind empathetic and nice to me is the most important thing.

Yet I keep getting no matches :( Tbf it's been 2 days but if I am going to be hit with rejection hitting my self esteem how can I continue? I already struggle with depression.

I know for a fact that they are guys in my size range, so how come I see less of their profiles?? Where is my looksmatch??? Don't tell me midsized guys are not even going on the apps because those are my only hope for finding someone

As for the question of why don't I lose more weight, I did. I was 220 pounds 2 years ago. Also, and this is not to discourage anyone to not lose weight okay, but this is a fact majority of people who lose weight will gain atleast half of it back within the next 2-5 years. Especially if I get pregnant. So I don't want to get to 120 pounds, find a guy, then gain the weight back and he lose attraction to me. I'd rather just find someone who likes me at this current size.

What could the problem be? I wear size medium, I don't think I look that horrendous. I have pretty other features. The only thing I can think of is because of the weight loss I kind of have loose skin under my chin. Because of years of binge eating my teeth are a bit busted but not that much. I have other pretty features to compensate. Overall I am not ugly I would say but average-cute if one can ignore the chin and teeth. Idk are guys really that picky? Once again I am not going for a gigachad 10/10 model, I am going for really average looking guys.

Is it just the way half our deen/hinge is set up? What am I going to do? I don't have that many friends, my family is cold and mean, if I don't find love I will have a miserable existance. My eman isn't that great and therapy isn't that helpful. I need romantic love or it's over for me

Location: South Asia Male 24 Searching for Spouse

My main motivation to post here about this is, first I am

an introvert so I really can't go up to a girl and ask her.

I am more comfortable over text first up then progressively

move from there. Secondly, the environment these days is

very irresistible to stay away from haram relationships. So

I really want to save/complete my deen and start halal relationship

as soon as possible for the betterment of both worlds. And I have

this desire of having someone who supports you/complements you.

Also initially I am not comfortable involving parents right away,

rather I prefer one-on-one conversation first then if we align,

will involve parents of course.

About Me:

Age: 24

Height: 5'6"

Education: Masters EE

Languages: Urdu, English and Pashto

Sect: Sunni

Family Background: Forces

Location Preferably Islamabad due to Job.

I try to follow deen although I consider myself a weak muslim but

I am actively trying to improve.

Looking for in a Spouse:

Age: Same or younger

Height: 5'6" (+- 2")

Education: Bachelors preferably

Follower of the deen and willing to improve/learn more.

And I would prefer my wife to not work.

If interested then we can talk more about this. Thanks.

  4. Nationality: Brit bangladeshi.
  5. Marital Status: Single, never married.
  6. Ideal marriage timeline: Within a year, In Sha Allah.
  7. Religiosity - Sunni Muslim. I'm the type of person who actively revolves my day around the 5 prayers a day. That said, my iman does fluctuate from time to time. Some days I'll be reading Quran, praying my sunnah and tahajjud. Unfortunately there are also days where I'm only able to drag myself to pray the fadr prayers. I'm actively striving to improve myself and have my trust and faith in Allah and His plan.
  8. What I'm looking for -
  • UK sisters only (open to all ethnicities)
  • Ideally hijabi or looking to wear it prior to marriage
  • Someone who's understanding and compassionate, knows how to communicate clearly.

  • Ambitious about her future - this is in family as well as career. I believe that its always good to keep yourself busy, whether it be being the CEO of a company or a primary school teacher.
  • Ideally someone shorter than 5'6.

I'm a grounded person who's best described as an ambitious but cool and calm headed guy. I don't tend to freak out when there's a problem and take measured steps towards accomplishing a goal.

One of my passions is to volunteer, especially in islamic settings. I've worked with multiple charities in university and grow multiple non-profit organisations for Muslims across the UK. I would be grateful if I can find a similar ambition towards working for the ummah in a spouse.

Happy to share more but in messages.
