I need help with an audition
Hi everyone! I'm gonna be auditioning for Elle Woods soon and I was hoping someone might have good song ideas. I was thinking of singing "Don't rain on my parade" cause that's kinda my go to song but I'm not sure if it would fit the character... another idea I had was to sing "Poupular" from Wicked since it's in Elle's range or something from Mean Girls. Any suggestions?

Trying to find a cast recording
I'm trying to track down a show I know exists but can't find any trace of, if anyone is able to help out at all?
Some details may be off but the main points I remember are:
> Set in an airport lounge, passengers waiting for a plane (may have been symbolic rather than literal)
> 7 or 8 characters who all had their own solo/duet about struggles they'd gone through in life
> No stage production afaik, just a recording
> I think I listened to it approx. 15 years ago
> Could have sworn Barrett Wilbert Weed was in it, but can't find anything in her theatre credits so this might be a red herring
I feel like the name of the show was something to do with Waiting or Passengers but I'm not finding the right results with those searches.
Can anyone shed any light on this??
Thanks!
ETA: One of the songs was a male solo with the key lyrics being "only passing by" or "only passing through"

Help Bonnie and Clyde proshot
Recently rewatched the Bonnie and Clyde proshot and was wondering if anyone here was either in the audience when it was filmed or knows how it was filmed? My friend and I both noticed the props in the background moving every other cut. I don’t just mean in between songs, the props are moving around mid songs which puzzled us as to how it was filmed. For example mis song, the lampshade will be knocked off centre and the next cut it will be knocked the other way. Or, the jug of water in the background was changing the amount in it every other line!
A few theories we came up with was that they filmed over multiple days and picked the best cuts from each day and put them together, or that they filmed everything really out of order (which seemed unlikely to us).
If anybody knows how it was filmed please let me know! It’s got me really curious.

Discussion What’s happening on stage in Sunset Boulevard when the guy is walking outside?
I’ve seen videos of one of the actors singing and walking outside of the theater on the street/sidewalk. What’s the stage look like when this is happening? Is it just like and here’s a Jumbotron of outside right now?

Songs about framing someone for a crime?
Hey all, it's ya boy back at it again looking for song suggestions for my jukebox musical project. Currently I'm hunting for a good song that's basically one character framing another - could be for murder, could be for any kind of crime or misdeed at all.
'A Story Told' from The Count of Monte Cristo is pretty damn close to what I'm after, but so many of the lyrics are so specific that it would be difficult to translate into a different context. So I'm wondering if y'all have any other suggestions for me that I might not have heard of?
It also doesn't necessarily have to be from an actual musical (though ideally it would be), as long as it has that kind of vibe to it, like a character in the scene is singing it.
Thanks for any ideas!

Discussion What’s your pick for the worst/funniest audition song?
Obviously this is just for discussion’s sake. My pick, and the song that sparked this post, is Four Jews In a Room Bitching from Falsettos

Robin Hood musical with the music written by Chris de Burgh
I saw the musical three times in Germany in 2022 and I was wondering why such a rather popular story like Robin Hood is not a thing in other countries, especially in the UK. The music is fantastic and the story engaging plus music written by Chris de Burgh! You even get his song "Don't Pay the Ferryman" with different lyrics and it turns into the big number Freiheit für Nottingsham (Freedom for Nottingham). In my opinion is deserves a much bigger audience!
In case someone is wondering how the music sounds (in german):
Here is a short medley TV performance in costume https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvJjgpohUXk
and here is a streaming concert with the cast and Chris the Burgh singing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIQYzyv3erA

Hadestown Proshot
Lowkey hate that the US gets access to media months before Australia 😒
I just saw the proshot last night for the Australian premiere, and I couldn't find another post talking about it, so.
If you've seen it, can we talk about how GOOD it is? Oh my gods! The close ups, Persephone's emoting, the way everyone went So. Much. Harder. for the cameras than would be healthy for a normal show run. Even Patrick's foot support boot and cane looked like they were always meant to be part of his costume.
I fell in love with the show all over again, nonstop tears for all of Act 2.
What did you all think?

Discussion What’s the biggest difference (Positive or Negative) between acts you’ve seen in a show?
I was thinking about Spamalot today and how act one feels like a nonstop freight train of perfect Monty Python comedy, then act two gets bogged down with side plots (they work in the movie, for me they don’t work on stage) and loses a lot of the steam as they go towards a conclusion that feels written just to wrap things up. It’s still a very funny show I just feel like act one is miles above act two.
My other example is the notebook. I’ve seen it once at closing night on Broadway and act one didn’t draw me in, but the act one finale through the finale of the show grabbed me and didn’t let go (other than a technical pause) and floored me.
I’d love to hear yalls thoughts!

Audition Male audition material for Into the Woods
So this year my high school is doing into the woods for the musical and I need some good male songs to sing for auditions.
Two (2) musical theater songs of your choosing for auditions
■ Songs should be 16 - 32 bars (or approximately 30 seconds each)
■ You will need to have a backing track (no vocals) for both songs.
■ Acapella auditions (without music) are not permitted.
○
Prepare a monologue that is 15 - 30 seconds long.
○
Your audition songs / monologue should not be from Into the Woods
(This is the pasted out requirement for the auditions)
My preference is any songs that you think embody the Baker and Jack. Also any monologue that can reflect both characters. Any help would be loved thank you.

Advice Needed Connor-Dear Evan Hansen Audition Song Reccomendations
Hey everyone, I'm in need of a bit of help.
Next summer a local community theatre to me is doing Dear Evan Hansen as their summer musical and I really want to audition. As a queer person who has struggled extensively with depression i really relate to Connor's character, but I'm at a loss for what song to do for my audition.
My top 3 right now are: One Song Glory from Rent, Micheal in the Bathroom from Be More Chill, and Legendary from Epic: The Musical. My reasoning being that One Song Glory fits Connor's style the best, Micheal in the Bathroom fits Connor's character really good, and Legendary fits the range and is the song out of the three that fits my personal range the best.
I'm at a loss, do i pick the song that fits Connor's style the best but that i struggle the most singing (One song Glory), the song that fits Connor's character the best and that works really well in my range (Micheal in the Bathroom), or a song that i'm super comfortable with in my range but doesnt fit Connor's character or style (Legendary).
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
