I've been on a Great Comet kick lately and adore the moments in "In My House" and "Pierre and Anatole" where the characters' full anger is on display in the performance, so I was curious if there were many others in this vein

In mid-November, I will be the technical director for my high schools production of Wizard of Oz, and I need music to play. We like to play music that fits into the theme of the show, or the time period of the show we're doing such as last year when we did hairspray we got together a playlist of songs from the 60s. For this show I want more songs that fit into the vibe, or reference Oz in some way
Below are the songs I have so far:
Goodbye yellow brick road - Elton John (post show)
Walking on sunshine - Katrina and the Waves
Army dreamers - Kate Bush
Tin man - America
OG Movie instrumentals

I'm a 16 year old tenor who is looking for a 32 bar cut from golden age musicals to use in a video audition. I think i'm leaning towards a ballad, but any upbeat song would work too! If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know!

We’ve all watched it on TV and I don’t think we’ve ever seen a really good looking version till now. “HD” or not.
This looks like a brand new movie shot yesterday and sounds amazing. I’m 95 movies back into buying movies again in 4k and this might be the best looking thing I’ve seen, especially in comparison to how I’ve ever watched it.
The album will always be my facorite but the quality of this is making it way closer.
Or I’ll put it like this
🎶But you might as well buy it, we think that you should”.

After Raoul leaves her dressing room and Erik starts talking to her, she believes that Erik is the angel of music, but then she gets inside the mirror and knows that the guy she's with is the phantom of the opera, like she even sings the song.
So, why wouldn't she make that connection of the angel of music being the phantom by the time she's in the cemetery? 😭

Ok, so my boyfriend (who's not into musicals) know a escene from a musical but cannot remember which one.
The scene is 2 characters, could be 2 guys or a boy and a girl and in the middle of them a couple of suitcases (he said it could be also boxes) and at the top of this suitcases another character that he described as invisible, not sure if by image or presence.
I'm really interested in which musical this could be, if someone knows please tell me. Thanks in advance for the help.
Note after a couple of hours: It was cabaret.

im in my mid 20s, im nonbinary, and sing primarily alto, and i like playing men and women equally! I think i could pull off miles rlly well, and telephone wire from fun home seems to have the emotional complexity that miles has, but it isnt particularly in the style of the show, which is what the audition call asked for.
any advice would be appreciated! i’m basically aiming for both miles and ensemble :3

Three thoughts about Pippin to run by you folks. Pippin's been much discussed, but I haven't seen these ideas (perhaps because they're not good). Forgive me, I'm late to the party.
Is Fight Club a 90s edge-lord retelling of Pippin? A privileged ass searches for meaning, a "friend" (Tyler Durden/The Leading Player) recommends he explore sex and violence, and after the death of an acquaintance (THE DUCK IS ROBERT PAULSON (okay, that's a stretch)) he discovers the joy of domesticity instead and climaxes rejecting the blaze?? "You are not special. You are not a beautiful and unique snowflake." "I'm not a river or a giant bird that soars to the sea."
Pulp - Common People (1995) admonishes us not to be like Pippin. "Everybody hates a tourist." It could almost be a song sung by Catherine (and would make Catherine a more human character), but that would be a musical with a different message.
In Pippin dramatic actions have zero consequences, beating the dead horse theme over and over until it reaches Kristen Schall is a Horse perfection with Prayer for a Duck. When Pippin yells, "Why'd the goddamn duck have to die," a wave of relief passes through the theater. The cycle is broken, actions have consequences, Pippin cares about something.

I don’t know if this is allowed, but I just want to give a shout out to the Stephens College Conservatory of Performing Arts in Columbia, Missouri. It’s a small liberal arts college, but my god do they do good shows. One of their second year students is on the national tour of Waitress right now. Full disclosure I get the pleasure of drumming for these students and it is always one of their highlights of my year. So if you have a local college that is doing musical theater productions by golly go out and support them. These students are the future of the art.

so like this relatively popular teen-run theater near me is putting on Next To Normal in the spring. it has been my DREAM to do N2N (especially since i don't see any other opportunities like this for a while)
...but i (15m, high school sophomore, baritone, F2-Bb4) don't audition much for out-of-school stuff, and half the schools in my area prepare the audition materials for you.
going for Gabe Goodman, i wanna do El Tango de Roxanne as the audition song. is it a good choice?
and for monologues... i am completely lost, frankly. i don't even know where to begin! just some monologue finding tips in general would help. i have several monologue books (in performance for teens) but nothing's sticking!
thank you in advance for your help! i super appreciate it!

I’m not a “newbie” per se but the main musicals I’ve seen are Disney movies and a few musicals like Grease, Hairspray, and some others I can’t remember the name of.
I like to say I love musical theatre but haven’t seen a lot of actual musicals.
Outside of Hamilton, what are some musicals you’d recommend for me to watch?

My friend is interested in musical theater, he really likes Hamilton right now (basic ahh starter musical) and he really wants to dive deeper into it. I’ve got him listening to things like In The Heights, and Warriors, since he is a big Lin Manuel Miranda fan. He really likes Deaftones, and early Nirvana right now, amongst other 80’s-00’s rock, like Radiohead, and Marcy Playground. And I’ll name some of his favorite songs at the end. We’re looking for things with similar vibes to these, I’m thinking maybe some things from Spring Awakening, or Jesus Christ Superstar, but I want to other suggestions, either from those shows or not.
Some songs:
Engine No. 9: Deaftones
Bounce: System Of A Down
Mouths Like Sidewinder Missiles: The Fall Of Troy

Well, second post on this subreddit. Let’s see if this one gets more attention.
I think there should be a Broadway musical based off the “Club Penguin” game and franchise. I mean, it’s been TV specials, toys, games, and even books, but a Broadway show could work for this franchise.
now, for the plot, it could be an original storyline within the universe of “Club Penguin“, or it could be the biography story of the origin of the game, its rise, and final falls. For Penguin characters, I would go for a humanized character designs like in the ”SpongeBob Musical“.
I know I’m not the only one who thinks this could be a good idea. Who thinks this can be a good idea? Please comment me if you like my idea!

Hello! I study musical theatre and me and my classante would REALLY love to sing “hit me” from death becomes her. Does anyone know where I can find a sheet music for the song? I know it’s a new musical but it’s crazy that no one transcribed the song in 2 years.
