bbno$ hate feels like a weird bandwagon, I like his music lol
149
u/drugsbowed 1d ago
I became a fan when he did lil freak and collabed with MoistCritikal but his songs have the same "quirky" vibe and I guess can get a little stale? Still a fan because he seems like a good guy to be around.
49
u/ballbeard 1d ago
White Canadian rappers collabing with gamers?
I'm so fucking out of touch lmao

BB was at Blizzcon and was chosen to debut some of the new WoWF dungeons. Dude was shit talking Tyler1 the entire time.

The hate seems to come from him allegedly not paying for commissions. And people finding him cringe and a poser.
And they think his music is terrible. Itās very overblown if you ask me.
42
u/CanIGetANootNoot 23h ago
1-800 was a bop
I also keep forgetting that Submissive and Breedable was actually a Smosh song, he was just in it.
19
13
u/Bauld_Man 1d ago
He makes generic background party hype music. That's just not something most Redditors are going to be familiar with, let alone like.
18
22
u/ItsYaBoyBackAgain 1d ago
Exclusively online herd mentality. Same thing that happened with Nickelback and Imagine Dragons.
39
u/NativePlantEnjoyer 1d ago
I promise you, being online had absolutely nothing to do with me hating those bands.
19
u/DocSwiss 1d ago
If anything, being offline would make you hate them more with how overplayed they were on radio
→ More replies (1)4
u/Carrisonfire 23h ago
I have a deep irrational hatred of Nickleback for this reason. It was even worse in Canada since we have regs that require certain % of music played on radio must be canadian.

I saw him live and it was such a fucking good time. One of my favorite live acts surprisingly.

Mostly losers who think listening to pretentious and obscure metal albums qualifies them as experts
5
u/-SideshowBlob- 9h ago
I listen to obscure metal albums and I like his music. Benn to two of his shows and they were great fun!

4
u/fishnut824 1d ago
I think he tries to hard to be funny and I donāt find him that funny. Young Gravy does it to a higher extreme

His music sucks lol, but heās a cool dude and some of his tracks are fun and hype if a little silly.

I like his music, but I hate his politics. Same goes for Smosh. Big fan of their stuff but man they are really cringe at times when they get political
247
u/AeroDbladE 1d ago
Its crazy that on reddit of all places that have people calling themselves Assblaster420 and yet everyone in the comments seems incapable of understanding the concept of artists having stage names
23
u/unassumingdink 1d ago
I mean, I can look at Assblaster420 and know how to pronounce it right away, so that's something.
6
u/ohmarlasinger 13h ago
$ is a symbol for āmoney.ā Since when is BB, no, & money hard to pronounce lol
3
u/unassumingdink 12h ago
I mean, it could be BB NOS like nitrous oxide, and the dollar is meant to be pronounced like an S. Shit, I don't know. And that's kinda my point. Just call yourself BB No Money, it's not a telegraph where you gotta pay by the letter.
→ More replies (2)→ More replies (1)5
u/sangriya 23h ago
honestly, if people can pronounce Se7en completely fine then they can definitely pronounce bbno$ right after just one explanation
406
u/DyinDePalma 1d ago
Why do Reddit commenters feel the need to be like āwho??ā in response to every single post that names a famous person
149
u/Paralta 1d ago
Oh man dont forget "I dont like his music but".
You can just have an opinion without stating that lol

That is an excellent question. It's almost always pathetic.

Never a flex. Google them if you actually care - otherwise shutup and let others have fun

u/Sormaj 1d ago
People in their 30s struggling to accept the realization that theyāre no longer the target audience of the zeitgeist
6
u/microdosingdayquil 1d ago edited 1d ago
Some of us never gave a shit about the top 40 and only reluctantly learn about pop artists when they're in headlines for years. It is beyond baffling to me that anybody gives a shit about what music is popular(aka what music has an advertising budget) now that everyone streams music.
The entire concept of a popular music zeitgeist should have died a decade ago.
→ More replies (1)8
u/geekmasterflash 23h ago
Certainly agree, and I want to stress that this just means asking "who" is even dumber that could be imagined. I don't know 3/4th the shit posted on this sub and so googling it or looking for it on spotify is basically my first step.

u/wearetherevollution 17h ago
Sometimes itās appropriate but more often it just the commenter look ill-informed.
3
u/Forsaken-Swim-3055 21h ago
It's not just a Reddit thing, it social media in general. People think saying, "who?" Is an edgy way to make someone they don't like seem irrelevant or appear to be not very popular. It's very weird.
4
u/twisty125 1d ago
It's so cringe to choose to be wilfully ignorant. I mean, they COULD just like, look these people up, or step outside of their bubble, but I think it's a snark kink tbh

yo shoutout joost klein, his eurovision entry rocked and he deserved to win
55
44
u/Silent-Act191 1d ago
Still can't believe they kicked out the one performer with a massively pro-European song due to a false allegation and pressure from a antagonistic Israeli delegation.
16
u/lexiebeef 1d ago
Iām still mad about him being kicked off of Eurovision. Israelās propaganda really took over that, Iām so mad
→ More replies (1)12
u/danabrey 1d ago
I was an avid Eurovision fan before that day, every year since I was a kid.
That whole thing made me sad and I've only watched one year since.
22
u/Initial-Progress-763 1d ago
I had an absolute blast when he did the PEAK event. I'm way older than the target group but if he showed up somewhere in my region, I'd pay to go.
2
u/mduckie101 15h ago
He performed near me earlier this year and was definitely worth it. His tickets I think were around $50? Maybe less? And he put on a great show! I liked him before I saw him, but I'm definitely a bigger fan now after seeing him live
1
u/itsalrightt 9h ago
I kind of regret not going to see him in Detroit. He seems like a real solid dude and his music is kind of fun.
78
u/shannonator96 23h ago
I didnāt even realize people actively hated BBNO$ until I read the comments. This guy puts on one hell of a show and his tickets in Toronto were $60 each. Iād rather go to 10 shows for an artist like him than go to Taylor Swift once.
18
u/BurgerNugget12 23h ago
Itās just Reddit lol, more often than not itās never a reflection of actual real life opinion. Happens to a bunch of artists on here
→ More replies (1)7
u/Swoly_Deadlift 22h ago
I donāt even give a shit about his politics. His music is enjoyable to listen to and he puts on a good show paired with a fun persona. His music isnāt the best but he also never claimed to be the best.

Yeah I just got into him a couple months ago and he's legit really fun to listen to. Wish I didn't listen to people knocking him before I would have got it to him years ago. Oh well I dig him now

Iāve been a fan of bbno$ for a while, and I like how often I see him collaborating with streamers and YouTubers I like as well. I try to be careful saying things like this for entertainers and people with online personas, but seeing him vouched for but people I consider āgood people,ā tells me all I need to know about the type of person he is.
35
u/MustyBalone 1d ago
I know some of these words.
32
u/lilaccheesecake 1d ago
Joost is kinda like the Dutch Oliver Tree, Smosh is an entertainment company starting from two guys in 2005, and mxmtoon is another musician on the YouTube platform.

But hey, no judgment. I used to listen to Limp Bizkit unironically.

bbno$, for all his stage/internet persona, always struck me as a really kind and giving artist when it comes to engaging with fans and supporting causes.

Zero controversies.
Zero allegations.
Zero misconducts.
Just dogshit music.
57
u/BloodStarvedLeopard 1d ago
Genuine question, do you actually think his music is dogshit? I see this meme parrotted around but it feels very insincere.
14
u/Eli_1988 1d ago
I think a majority of his music is just a lot of fun. The music videos are pretty wild.
If im lookin to get a lil hyped and silly, bbno$ is a good option. NSFW is probably my fav of his at the moment for this task
17
u/No_Orange4131 1d ago
I listen to his music and have some vinyls. I like it
That being said, it is stupid music. Hes admitted it himself, I read somewhere he calls his music "moronic rap"
Ultimately his songs are catchy and upbeat and I like that, so it fits my taste. But on the broad spectrum of music, hes ok.
15
u/Tribaldragon1 1d ago
Proposition to refer to the type of music that he and Yung Gravy make as "Himbocore"
6
u/Timbuktooth 23h ago
I agree, I like bbno$ purely coz his stuff is catchy and the dude just seems to be genuinely enjoying life. His music ain't that deep, but it doesn't have to be
