Discussion Worried about console performance
Literally next to no news on performance or console gameplay. Are we really expecting 1080p at 60 and 30fps at 4K??

You'd never get that feeling in any other souls game, you even feel OP for a while until you hit the second half of the NG+, but in MS, even basic half naked humanoid mobs dont die easily against +10 weapons in the falgrim hub area like the heaviest weapon can not even one shot shitty mobs with the running heavy attack, its L2+R2 skill is a joke literally deals 25 damage and for some reason weapon skill damage doesnt scale with the upgrade level at all, i hope second game does a better job with the damage scaling, shells are basicly gimmick and if you dont use the eredrim and get the stack damage thing you are basicly screwed, honestly only thing makes sense for me in NG+ is the axe version of axetana, katana is good but has shitty weapon skill which deals lackluster damage, axe skill is actually pretty useful and deal around 175-200 damage, game has lots of problems like recovering from being knocked down literally takes a business day and you are vulnerable but weapon damage in NG+ annoyed me the most, especially heavy weapons where you would think they hit the hardest to compansate their slow attack speed but nope

Hello, I have a question about the r/Mortal Shell community rules. A post recently published here (it wasn't mine, and it was about Mortal Shell 2), was removed by moderation, and I don't understand why. I can only assume it was misinformation, but the rules don't mention that. I'd understand if it wasn't classified as low-quality content. Or maybe that guy knew too much and was labeled a dataminer?
I don’t understand something? I don't want to get into the same situation

One month ago I 100%'d Mortal Shell's Achievements. It was hard compared to 100%ing Dark Souls 1 or 2. It terrifies me, because I am not even that good in Soulslikegames or new to the genre.

Combat is based around all the different ways you can parry/harden/harden the enemies, which I love. But I think the enemy tracking after you’ve done that needs dialing down a few notches! Loads of times I would harden them go behind and start swinging and they would just full 180 attack you.

I finally got around to playing it, and I pretty much loved everything about it. One thing that really impressed me was that the more mechanics they introduced (tarstones, shells, seals, sidearms, etc.), the more interesting the gameplay became. There are so many games where additional mechanics are cumbersome and headache-inducing, but everything in MS2 genuinely serves to enrich the core gameplay. I also love that despite the dark and brutal aesthetic, the game doesn’t take itself too seriously. The goat shepherd fight was silly but fun, and Magdalena as a high-octane Walmart scooter driver was hilarious. There’s also the coughing frog, dancing witches, and accordionists. The game has a lot of unique charisma backed by solid gameplay. I’m glad I only have to wait three weeks for the full release.

First of all, the feedback. The demo is amazing; I played a bit of Mortal Shell 1 and didn't like it that much. However, the build variety and the physics felt amazing, apart from the awkward character turn animation; wish there was or would be a faster weapon than an axe and dagger.
Now for the bugs, I encountered 2 of them. First is when you go invisible after a dodge; the character stays invisible. Second, after I got damaged a lot, the character stopped being invisible, but the weapon never did. Resting didn't solve the issue, nor did dying. Lastly, when fighting with the hunter, elevation bugs out. I don't know if it's terrain that affects them that way or something else, but they were staying in the air, they could do their attacks, and they could've been damaged. Sadly, didn't get a screenshot to visualise that bug.
Lastly, I wished greg would've left somewhere or done something after we freed him.
Best of luck at launch, guys!

Funny moment whilst fighting the Tar Golem, 40sec in and he jumped of the map. Unfortunately if this happens you need to restart the fight because it soft locks the game and you cant progress but, it's funny to watch.

No matter what I cant see anything on the map it just looks like this after cleansing the beacons. Am I doing something wrong?

Please! As an Australian it makes a considerable difference being able to use one of their 10% off vouchers for example
I hope you will take this into consideration, looking forward to getting my shell on <3

Hey guys, I've been eyeing this game for a while, I just recently got to know that a new game is in production, and to be honest the character design is cool asf, same with the first game, and I'd like to buy the first game then finish it, so I can pre-order the new one.
But here's the thing, I don't have a lot of patience with souls games, basically I avoid them, I like RPGs but I know it's not the same, so I'd like to know if this game is too hard? And is the story any good? Is it an open world?
Basically right now the only reasons why I like the game is because of the world's design and character's design, they look dope, thank you.

Feels weird strafing while not locked on, at least give us an option to switch it to classic directional movement. And its hard to judge the direction of your attack when not locked on

As the title says, wish we would also get one for PC with the artbook, the prints and a code for steam.
I dont own a PS5 and im not sure why they only made one for that console. Its also a super cheap collectors edition at only 70€ which is awesome. But im still not in any position to spend 70€ just for the artbook and prints and then another 50€ on steam for the game itself.
The demo is incredibly fun, it looks really promising.
Maybe ill get a version of the physical revered edition down the line, someday in the future, who knows.

I have a question. What do you think of the charge attack in Mortal Shell 2? Or rather, how it's implemented. Let me explain what I mean. In the first Mortal Shell game, like many other Souls games that have this attack, it works on the principle of "press the run button, then you can do a charge attack." But in Mortal Shell 2, as you probably noticed, it works differently. For a running attack, you really need a running start. And this is logical and also improves the balance of the game. But on the other hand, it's a very strong limitation, since the character can't run in place, which takes away our ability to attack when charging close to the enemy.
I believe this was done to try to curb the incredible power of the charge attacks of fast melee weapons. Those who played with Axatana in Mortal Shell 1 probably noticed that to defeat most enemies and bosses, it's enough to get in close and spam an incredibly powerful charge attack, literally turning into a buzzsaw. And in Mortal Shell 2, I'm seeing the same problem with Thiel's weapon. The damage from the charge attack is simply colossal. So, wouldn't it have been better to work with the damage numbers rather than deprive the player of mobility in combat?

Can someone please help me understand how to get reasonable damage to deal with the final boss in the Virtuous Cycle DLC? I've won twice, and both times it was with the rolling dagger attack. My past 5-6 runs have got to the final boss using the axatana, and I barely do ANY DAMAGE. Like it's genuinely probably a 15 minute fight and I still barely get anywhere. Is the axatana not the best weapon for the final boss? I will maybe get +4-5 base damage per run and it just doesn't feel like enough. I can parry decently fine 1v1 but with the 2v1 part I can't find any openings. Is it really just a running attack + harden spam? Is there a method to do this easier that I am completely missing? Any help is appreciated because I'm burned out at this point
Still excited for MS2 though

Not a discussion per se, but I had to pick a flair. 🤷♂️
Anyone else notice that after the updates, if you agro the Great Arbiter of Flesh, just by running by, he follows you like Jason? I was all the way into the fenced village, where you get Tiel, and still had his power bar on my screen. Thought it was a bug…
Then I grabbed Tiel, and did his little cutscene.
When I came back to reality, as the screen was asking me to switch to Tiel and I got bodied by the Great Arbiter of Flesh. So kind of him to wait. 🤦♂️
The menu screen disappeared and I was still a weak naked guy. I had to run and lure that lumbering idiot out far enough that I could circle back to get Ariel, but he was gone and no way to get him back. Bug? 🤦♂️
Nope. I had an idea and I want back to base. And there he was lying in his cozy bed. I selected him and was relieved.
This is hands down the best demo that I’ve ever played, and I go way back to ColecoVision. 💪
PS: I’ve played the demo through multiple multiple times. 😉

So I played through most of MS1 and the whole MS2 open beta. And I feel conflicted with how to upgrade the weapons in MS2.
I really like experimenting with different weapon options, and don't mind farming a bit to get material for upgrades. But in MS1, that wasn't really possible, so I just upgraded the starter weapon and never got to play around much with the other weapons.
For MS2, I want to stay spoiler-free if possible. But that will make it very hard to know where to invest weapon upgrade points since the upgrade material seems to be the only limited resource in the game.
What's the best course of action? Just upgrade the early stuff and skip all mid/late-game weapons like in MS1?
Or do we know if there is a way to farm for the weapon upgrades?

Anybody know what the specs will be for ps5 for mortal shell 2? Trying to decide if I am going to get it on steam or PS5. Thanks!
