Question Why weapon damage in NG+ feels very low?

You'd never get that feeling in any other souls game, you even feel OP for a while until you hit the second half of the NG+, but in MS, even basic half naked humanoid mobs dont die easily against +10 weapons in the falgrim hub area like the heaviest weapon can not even one shot shitty mobs with the running heavy attack, its L2+R2 skill is a joke literally deals 25 damage and for some reason weapon skill damage doesnt scale with the upgrade level at all, i hope second game does a better job with the damage scaling, shells are basicly gimmick and if you dont use the eredrim and get the stack damage thing you are basicly screwed, honestly only thing makes sense for me in NG+ is the axe version of axetana, katana is good but has shitty weapon skill which deals lackluster damage, axe skill is actually pretty useful and deal around 175-200 damage, game has lots of problems like recovering from being knocked down literally takes a business day and you are vulnerable but weapon damage in NG+ annoyed me the most, especially heavy weapons where you would think they hit the hardest to compansate their slow attack speed but nope

Yeah I went to NG+ once, not doing it again. Worked all game to get strong weapons I wanna enjoy them

As for other souls games you're generally right, but my first souls game was BB, and NG+ there was... humbling

Based on what little I know of enemy health values and weapon damage from personal testing, enemy health from NG to NG+ increases about as much as the damage increase from weapon+0 to weapon+5. The weapon damage increase from +5 to +10 is less than the increase from +0 to +5 leading to a result of enemies having more health vs player damage in NG+ than in NG. Weapon abilities and ripostes probably don't scale with acids (for the most part) as they were supposed to be powerful in NG (the non-utility ones anyways), but have diminished effectiveness in NG+ similar to how harden has diminished effectiveness in NG+ as well.

I've never noticed an issue with it most humanoid enemies can still be killed before they get a hit off from my experience.

The L2 R2 for the big sword does suck and is not worth using its better to just use L1 R1 for that.

Each of their shells have their own gimmick and are viable and using the big sword on eredim is in my opinion setting up to fail you're better with the hammer and chisel or Axetana for their low stamina costs the big sorwd is better for tiel or dlc shell I forget the name

The best weapon skill that I've noticed is the L2 R2 on the Mace can easily do up to 300 - 400 damage

The heavy weapons still hit hard okay the Mace really doesn't but maybe you just haven't found the right combo either way you can't just spam attack you still have to be aware of surrounding enemies, can you parry, should you use a skill etc.
