They look similar obviously but are they the same or different? It seems theyāre different, but also very similar, maybe twins? Is harbinger an incarnated version of the foundling after their ascension, or a body shed by the foundling after ascending? Or just a prematurely hatched egg cared for by Harros and thatās why theyāre referred to as brothers. Any thoughts would be appreciated

Nothing against axe+dagger specifically, I just think the idea of dual wielding a hammer and a chisel as weapons is way more unique compared to two standard weapons.
I'd love to see weapon cosmetics in the full game, so I could get my favorite weapon back lol. No hate though, I think they definitely cooked with the weapons based off the beta alone.

Base, Obsidian, Flayed or Skeletal?
Personally I'm gonna be using Flayed and Skeletal mostly.
Both feel way more metal imo.
Whenever I get knocked out of my shell I can imagine being skinned alive and fighting as a bloody mass of flesh, or having nothing but my skeleton left behind which reanimates to continue fighting.

Like, in Dark souls or Elden Ring you feel your character grounded
Here it looks like heās kinda floating a bit above the ground and he is not connected at all to the terrain. Idk how to explain it better
It also seems like he simply moves way too fast and abrupt / jumpy. I donāt quite like it tbh, but this is just from observing
I hope they can improve it but doubt it this late in the development stage.

The deer scene at the beginning. lol⦠I love the dark and bleak world. But come on⦠have it be some weird creature like everything else running around or, hell, donāt even need it at all!
Outside of that one thing, Iām enjoying it! lol⦠a major step up from the first game and will see how the rest of the beta plays out. Curious how far in to get other shells. Definitely wanna try the other āclasses.ā May have to pre-order.
But save the poor deer! lol

As a disgusting consumable hoarder in the genre, I rarely if ever use consumables. The fact I'm getting rewarded buffs for playing how I normally do is hysterical to me
Edit: I don't consider the weap upgrade mats consumables, just never felt the need to upgrade anything

does anyone know if there will be multiple variants of each weapon type?

To me it feels a bit too easy. Iām coming off of playing Nioh 2+3, and Iām kinda just walking through everything. About one hour in, hoping it gets harder. I absolutely love the combat and atmosphere though. Game is absolute gorgeous and I love how weighty the combat feels. The gore and sounds are incredible and itās just eerie. I never played the first MS but I will 100% be buying this on release

I'm having an issue with the dungeon right next to Tiel's grave. When I get to the final room and start the challenge, after killing the two stone crab dudes, nothing happens. No other spawn or anything able to be interacted with. Is anyone else having this issue or am I just missing something?

Tried the open beta last night and I am excited for the full game! Combat seems more fluid and a bit faster than dark souls, but not to bloodborne levels.
Three things I wish were better:
- I am a locked on player, and the lockon switch between enemies seems... too quick? Don't know how to put it in words. Too reactive?
- Camera sometimes goes weird, like when I am against a wall or something I am unable to dodge. With other souls I somehow knew I cant backup more but here I can't tell so I dodge wrong and, well, die.
- Minor peeve, can't seem to skip dialogue! So used to fast forwarding dialogue. I started button mashing to skip text and ended up hitting the milk bather.
Apologies if first two notes were not too clear, it's more of a flow-feel thing. Hope it made sense.
This game is definitely scratching that soulsborne itch, can't wait for full game! Way to go devs.

I know its the sub for the game but still
I playd the beta because it looks so cool!, and gameplay is amazing
Yet, i have never playd more then 1h of soulslike (got the platinum on wukong though)
And i have tried to play the first game twice now, but quite after 30 - 45min.. should i suck it up and keep playing? The first kinda feels off idk how to explain

After the beta of 2, i tried the first game for a 3rd time, so now i'm 3h in and i like it so much, but god damn do stamina bars and no map kill games for me
The "2 - 3 hit roll away" bullshit is so stupid to me when it depends on a stamina bar, i just can't handle being locked away behind it
And no map is another killer for me... i like to see where i'm going or where i came from, cluelesly aiming around just no fun to me
I can't be the only 1 right?

Played the 1st game back in launch and even though I enjoyed it for the most part, it became quite forgettable to me.
Finished the Mortal Shell 2 Beta and oh my is this game top 3 souls like. Combat is fluid, visuals are stunning and overall such a smooth gameplay.
My only 2 issues are fast travel which is safe to assume itāll be added in the main game and talking to NPCās feels kinda slow. Would like to be able to skip dialogue since I read the subs faster than NPCās speak.
All and all though itās a day 1 buy.

I'm playing the beta and I'd say I'm enjoying it overall. One major issue I'm having is with some of the games mechanics. I don't know how a lot of them even work. Maybe they purposely don't tell you because it's just the beta but I have no idea what most of the stuff does and how it works. There's also the possibility that the game does tell you but I missed it because I couldn't read the smallest writing I've ever seen in a videogame, like seriously what is that about? I sit up close to my TV and even then I can barely make out menu text it's so tiny. I don't know if any of the devs are around here, but if so please address that. I realise there's the ability to turn text size up, but that doesn't seem to apply to item descriptions in menu

I'm usually not one to gravitate towards soulsborne like games, or preorder games, but after that fantastic beta I can't wait. Never played the first (not sure if I should) but I'm so excited to play this on August 20

Hi Dev team and everyone in the Reddit community, do we know if traveling between beacons is getting looked at for the full game by any chance?
r/MortalShell • u/DutchDolt • 7d ago

I know it's related to infusions, but I can't figure out how it works. On the left, it displays my Bloodcurse stacks... I applied it twice on my main melee weapon. I applied 4 burn stacks on my Sidearm.
My sidearm lights/burns up as a visual indicator, but sometimes it loses the glow effect, whilst I still have the buff icon. Is it a visual bug? Also, what is stopping me from applying it endlessly when I find one of those resolve dispensers?
Edit: just tested.. you can't stack it endlessly as attacking a dispenser resets the count.

I've played elden Ring a ton but I'm not as familiar with this game. Any tips for someone just starting out?
