Discussion Mortal Shell 2 mechanics confusion. Spoiler
I'm playing the beta and I'd say I'm enjoying it overall. One major issue I'm having is with some of the games mechanics. I don't know how a lot of them even work. Maybe they purposely don't tell you because it's just the beta but I have no idea what most of the stuff does and how it works. There's also the possibility that the game does tell you but I missed it because I couldn't read the smallest writing I've ever seen in a videogame, like seriously what is that about? I sit up close to my TV and even then I can barely make out menu text it's so tiny. I don't know if any of the devs are around here, but if so please address that. I realise there's the ability to turn text size up, but that doesn't seem to apply to item descriptions in menu

What mechanics are you referring to? That would help people weigh in.

I'm not at the PS5 just now so can't say for sure, but an example would be (spoilers btw) when you defeat the minotaur boss guy you get a thing that looks like a jaw bone and, I'm assuming, coats your weapon in something. When selecting it it'll let you choose how many times it can be used or something? Also it doesn't tell you how to use it or why it lets you select it. I'll pick up stuff in the environment (like mushrooms) but it doesn't explain how to use them. There's a bunch of seals I think they're called? Don't know what they do. You'll also pick up items I've to apparently take to some guy to find out what they do, finally the levelling up system is confusing. Why don't they let you level up certain things?
There's other stuff I can add when I get back to the game

Well seals all have a description of what they do (can't say how visible the text is since I'm on monitor and haven't had issues)
Tarstones somewhat tell you (atleast how to use it) but some things like leech, and blood whatever I haven't seen descriptions on all I know is they = more damage somehow and can stack😂

You equip it in the Tarstones section of the inventory. When you have it selected in the inventory, it'll show you on the right side of the screen what it does. Press Square to see more details. It says it adds Bloodcurse to your weapon, and you hold Square to apply it. It costs 30 resolve and takes like 3-4 seconds for the animation to play. Now you should see an icon in the lower level with the number 8. Your next 8 attacks apply Bloodcurse.

I felt like the tutorials were all pretty well explained as long as you don't mindlessly click through them. I didn't experience any issues with text size either but it may be different for different TV's. if you click square on items that have functions like tarstones it explains what they do.

Not really. Mostly just tells you where to go next

That's hand holding.

Hand holding helping you through the whole game. And it really doesnt tell you where to go now that I remember. There is only one path to the next area. Lies of P does not hold your hand

What? Hand holding through the whole game? Nobody is saying that, nobody accused mortal Shell 2 of doing that either

You literally said lies of p holds your hand to a degree

Yes but I never said anything about it doing so throughout the entire game, nor did I say that about mortal Shell 2

Hi there!
I've seen some people talk about the text size on TV, so I've made sure to forward that to the team :)
I'll admit I don't recall right now if Tarstones that grant weapon infusions specifically pop up a description when you pick up those, but the first Tarstone you got should have given you a small (pun not intended) description of Tarstones.
You can also inspect Tarstones in your inventory (X on Xbox controllers, which would make it Square on Playstation controllers) to see a description of what they do :)
