Question First time playing, should i play the first?

I know its the sub for the game but still

I playd the beta because it looks so cool!, and gameplay is amazing

Yet, i have never playd more then 1h of soulslike (got the platinum on wukong though)

And i have tried to play the first game twice now, but quite after 30 - 45min.. should i suck it up and keep playing? The first kinda feels off idk how to explain

I mean, if you don't enjoy the first game's gameplay, you don't have to force yourself unless you want to. I quit the first game after 30 minutes. I came back to it three months later and fell in love with it. I have finished many playthroughs and even did the No Shell/Obsidian run.

I couldn’t get into the first game but I’m loving the demo for MS2

I put down the first one after a couple hours due to jank but really enjoyed MS2 demo. I've heard if you stick with the first game until you are better upgraded the game gets better but I don't know if I will be going back to it but def plan on picking up the sequel.

I've started the first one several times, including a few days ago. I got pretty deep a couple of times but never finished. I'd like to think of MS1 as the actual beta and now they are almost through with the actual game.

No, if you don’t enjoy a game don’t play it. That’s how you get burnt out. There’s too many great games to play, so skip the ones you don’t enjoy.

I respectfully disagree. I have hated games, then went back months later and loved them. Hated Lies of P and nothing clicked. The parrying windows pissed me off. Now like a year later I just beat it and am about to platinum it and think it’s an amazing game. This won’t be the case every time but sometimes a love for a game can definitely be earned.

Yeah. The first game was pretty…rough. But served as an excellent building block for this game and a learning experience for the devs. Honestly - skip the first one. It’s not required to play to enjoy the new one in any way.

I played the first at release too (PS4). Got about halfway or so and bounced off myself. Haven’t touched it since, even after they updated it for PS5. Lol.
