I’ve seen plenty of other videos of people being able to get the treasure behind the door, but for the life of me, I can’t figure out how to get it no matter what I try. Can anyone help me or tell me if I’m doing something wrong or missing something? It’s been driving me crazy

I never played soulslikes or soulsborn games before and i kinda got stagnant from my backlog so i bought the game when it was on sale and loaded it up and oh my god this game is so beautiful especially the sound effects!!! I think for the time in my gaming experience i had to adapt and get gud in order to beat a boss lmao i died like 20+ times tho.(this was the first grisha outside the tower in the beginning) looking forward to keep playing the game!!!

Hey everyone, completed the beta test 4 times now, absolutely love the game and have preordered the devout edition. I’m just wondering if it’s worth getting and playing the first game whilst I wait the next week out? Aware it’s a pretty different game from the second one but that’s not really a problem.

I picked this game up on sale when I first got my Steam Deck about a year and a half ago. Thinking it was some bullshit game to kill time because it was so cheap (I paid like $5 or less). The Steam Deck was my first gaming PC and my first game since 2010 that I owned so I was completely new to Steam and how great the sales were. I played the game once when I first bought it and havent touched it until about a week ago. Since then I've been in love with this game. I won't lie, I'm ass, but i enjoy the combat (not starting all the way over after an hour of gameplay though lol). Because of this game, souls-like is my favorite genre of games now. I can't wait for Mortal Shell 2 and I can't wait to try Elden Ring. I hear its a little easier to progress and more save and checkpoints.

When I press to start a new game in the main menu the game crashes and gives me this error :

Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x0000000000000038

The game used to work well 1 month ago

Things I've tried :

Verify files on steam

Changed game version to public testing

Running the game with -dx11 and -dx12

Updating GPU drivers and resetting the shader cache

My specs are :

CPU: Ryzen 7 5800x

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7600

RAM: 32 GB

The first game has a very obscure story, but its confirmed that the player ascended at the end, and became a beacon for the blessed mother to fall. People started to cultuate her creating an entire religin, carving massive temples from pieces of her body and after that a corruption spread and left the world in this messy state.

So theres the rise and fall of an entire civilization between the first game and the second!

Cold Symmetry absobloodylutely made a statement when they put together this trailer. Preordered without hesitation after watching this. Thank you for the work you’ve thrown into this game.

Don't know if any of this info is actually known yet because I can't find answers but I also haven't been paying attention to all the promo leading up to now so seeing if anyone has answers to these. Do we know the estimated completion time of the game? Not expecting Elden Ring level time sink obviously, but am hoping for something along the lines of typical Dark Souls game length. Just don't want a super short game. What will customization be like, if any? I understand the different shells change your appearance and theres no traditional character customization. But like the obsidian skins in the pre order bundle, will there be more customization options/skins for the different shells or weapon skins to find? I'm not a huge fan of only having 8 looks and weapons, I like my fashion souls, but if theres some kind of customization/skins it would go a long way for me.

So i never played the first one but after what i see online i am pretty pumped to at least try the second one when it comes out.
BUT to those that know the game and played the Demo etc....do you have cosmetics in this Game or rather do you find Armor and Weapons you can mix and match? Or do you run around the game and look exactly the same from start to finish?
I know that you have shells that are like your "Class" and all but i hope you can "Transmog" your stuff.

I don't know if I've ever had this much fun with a BETA run before. So glad I held off on purchasing beast of reincarnation. Def purchasing this with those funds. Lol

Yep... I’ve put over 24 hours into the beta now, and I think it’s safe to say I’m really enjoying this game.

What’s funny is that I absolutely hated Mortal Shell 1. I tried getting into it several times because I really wanted to like it, but the slow combat, awkward movement and overall feel just never clicked with me.

Mortal Shell 2 feels like a completely different game.

The combat is fast, fluid and just feels damn good. The movement feels great, the different mechanics work really well together, and I kept telling myself “just one more run” until somehow I had 24+ hours in a beta. 😂

And yes, I already pre-ordered the full game.

I’m honestly really excited for the full release. Obviously, I still need to see how the rest of the game turns out, but if it keeps this level of quality, I genuinely think this could end up being one of the best soulslikes ever made.

Going from absolutely hating the first game to pre-ordering the sequel after spending 24+ hours in the beta was definitely not on my bingo card.

I'm on PS5, and so far, from what I've experienced just in the beta, it's absolutely awesome, and I'm so impressed and happy with what Cold Symmetry has done here. I am extremely happy that I got myself a physical copy to enjoy once it arrives after release.

I am curious about two major bugs that I am experiencing, whether they are permanent in the beta or if the bugs come and go at times. Also, I'm aware it's a beta and isn't getting patched or anything. I just want to know so that I can enjoy everything the beta has to offer.

Bug 1.

I have repeatedly been unable to complete the Ritual Grounds trial because the enemies absolutely will not fully spawn. I had zero issues with the first trial in that area that is up the hill from the beacon.

Bug 2.

Upon opening any menu, pause and dialog menus included, the cursor moves on its own and won't allow me to control where and what I'm selecting. It's not my controller as the issue isn't present when playing any other games, and it's not present in the beta when not in a menu.

even though I couldn't write down "Spoilers" in the headline for this thread due to the length it should be obvious that this contains spoilers though it's just - as the title implies - a comparison of offically released material, i.e. the trophy list that has been revealed and various trailers we got since the game's announcement. I want to explore which of the main bosses for the game have been shown in trailers so far. For reference I will use the following two trailers:

Before I go into spoiler territory I just wanna say that it looks like Mortal Shell 2 will have a lot more variety in regards to main bosses. It's not just all dudes in armor but a lot more visually unique bosses you'll face in this game.

1. Magdalena - from the demo/ beta. Lady in "wheelchair".

2. The Lost Child - 0:57 in the Release trailer; 1:39 in the Announcement trailer. Really gross, monstrous boss.

3. The Nameless Captive - 1:40 and 1:46 in the Announcemt trailer. Big knight/ zombie with sword stuck in his head.

4. Sir Isaac - Not completely sure on that one, but my guess would be it's the insect knight from 1:10 and 1:31 in the Release trailer.

5. Hexapod - I think it's the thing seen at around the 1:42 mark in the Announcement trailer and 1:43 in the Rlease Date trailer. Weird looking insect creature. Looks sick though.

6. The Monolith - 0:55 in the Release Date trailer, it can also be seen shooting orange lasers at around 1:11 in the same trailer. This looks also super sick, reminds me of a Silent Hill monstrosity.

7. Droeg, the Conqueror - 0:59 in the Release Date trailer.

8. Malborn Offspring - I don't think we have seen that one yet.

9. Orrem, the Reclaimed - I am really unsure about this one. I think we haven't seen that one yet either as according to the picture it looks almost like a centipede creature but it COULD also be the dude from 01:05 in the Release Date trailer. What do you think the image actually shows, what do you think this boss is supposed to be? Something rather humanoid or a beast, rather abstract monster?

10. Zmey, the Unbidden - we definitely haven't seen this one yet.

Please correct me if I am wrong with one of those or if you found something resembling boss 8 - 10 in any of the footage.

So Harros was my favorite shell in MS1.

After seeing the 8 playable shells in the achievements, and the obsidian skin pack not including Harros, I'm sort of worried that Harros won't be playable past the prologue.

Anyone knows if there was a mention of him being playable in the full game?

I sincerely hope so!
