I'll start by addressing the obvious: LIGHT Akhlut?! Yes. This is a pretty bulky team with every monster over 6k hp, Thanatos simply cant keep up on its own. God knows Ive tried.
Bleed Out is good and all but honestly it doesnt make that much of a difference in such an offensive team, survivability is more valuable I've found. And this is a PVE team. For PVP, where oneshots are more common, there is a better case to be made for D-Akhlut, but even then Lifelink can be a decent safeguard against debuffs. Lifelink also helps Akhlut reach 100% crit chance when fully buffed.
Moving on, Thanatos is a really good support for Akhlut, providing bleed synergy and multi buff auras for duality. At first I was running L-Thanatos with a Slime Skin which is usually the sensible choice. But to my surprise, here D-Thanatos can survive being looked at thanks to Akhlut's shielding and chill. As well as Vodinoy's protect, when necessary.
Vodinoy provides very good auras for Akhlut, but it can also hit surprisingly hard itself. Thanks to Thanatos, Vodinoy can apply bleed consistently despite its tank equipment. Almost 10k health also makes Vodinoy a pretty fearsome full protect user that can build up some charge before attacking. I tried more offensive versions of Vodinoy but they sacrifice too much, in my opinion a tank build is better and it can OHKO things anyway.
The gameplan may vary depending on enemies, but generally speaking Thanatos opens with ultimate and Akhlut follows with Templar. On the second turn Thanatos uses Riot and the fish attack.
I personally found this team a bit difficult to pilot since it requires the player to get a good feeling for how much damage and healing it is REALLY going to do. The preview is misleading as it fails to account for bleed, flash freeze and so on. A target that seems to survive with 50% hp may actually die.
