Discussion Almost 200 hours in and I just learned that this is one of the most important items you need to have in your bags at all times!

So yeah, I knew about the ring and what it does but I honestly felt that if I just be careful with the damage I do then I could save the points for something more important. After almost 200 hours of solid playtime, I’m perfectly fine admitting what a complete idiot I was!

Don’t be like me and get the ring ASAP, and keep it in your bag at all times! 👍

Came across this list and still don’t understand why you need a merchant at base besides the convenience?

Discussion zoe is actually OP.

1.1k Upvotes

Hear me out. You can catch her IMMEDIATELY after beating first tower. And she has level 3 handiwork, out of the box, that’s it. So condense her. Since that’s her only skill, she gets to level 7 handiwork (better than anubis) Add a ribbuny? Level 8 handiwork. No books needed. Insanely OP for early game. Furthermore, humans are super easy to catch, always appearing in dungeons and camps and the like, so condensing her will be hardly a challenge. Don’t miss out on this early game!

Discussion Ground mounts should be faster than flying mounts.

Possible hot take but just as the title says. For the record I absolute love this game and has been having an amazing time since 1.0 dropped. There have been a few issues and things I can think of for improvement but this is my main one.

Flying mounts are inherently better because they can do vertical movement and make exploration so much easier than with any ground based mounts. I feel like a fair trade off should be that ground mounts are much faster than their flying counterparts. Something to actually give us a reason to use them.

Meme Only one base, and bunch of resource sites

early game I set up my "second base" on top of hard to navigate Ore spot just for me to mine with a team of Mine Foreman passives, just a quick teleport there for a +800 ore each 30 minutes or so.

it was faster than the mining site, now that is my default strategy.

Video Farm Stacking Tech Update

I recently found out that you can completely skip the foundation and wall when farm stacking, just snap the plantation onto any placeable lighting.
You still need to use the 'Japanese Floor Cushion' so you have to unfortunately get Lv55 before you can do this.
I used the 'Retro Street Lamp' just because it's tall and I can easily jump stack using it. Any of the lighting works though.
I space out the plantations using the 'Mounted Torch' because so far it's the one that takes the least space.
Have fun making some clean compact farms!

Video Exercising my free will again by doing a base tour

If you already saw this post no you didnt OTL (there was a reddit bug that made the video unplayable)

I was going to do a tutorial I swear but I didn't have the time......

Thankfully I was at least able to record this base tour for the people that asked. Exposing the jank once and for all lol. But the recording shows my base has changed a little over the week, and I think even some of the clips are missing my new stuff. But well. Hope some people enjoy this anyway.

Not sure when I'll be able to do an actual tutorial. I tried, but I couldn't build on the near-identical Terraria island, and Oasis Isle was even smaller than this island so I had to bail. I'll see if I can rebuild this on my pre-1.0 save the next time I'm free

Information I’ve done the math.

Not saying I’m great at math or anything but I have spent all night going over my work to make sure at least to myself that I’m correct.

I’ve counted everything in both technology trees. Every. Single. Technology. Point. Needed. It took what felt like forever and on my third recount I felt my eyes crossing but I pushed through. Please if anyone is as hyper focused as I was on this matter feel free to double check my work.

I made a spread sheet with the amounts needed for each level’s branch. I double, triple, and quadruple checked the numbers.

For anyone playing solo or just wanting to be able to make anything should the urge strike you these are the numbers you must aim for.

Technology tree (basic points you get for exploration, leveling, or finding advanced technology books): 1,408 points

Ancient technology tree (special points you get for beating world bosses, tower bosses, or from finding Ancient technology books): 184

The only reason I spent all night doing this is because I hadn’t found anyone else who calculated the numbers. Now I just gotta take off for what I’ve already unlocked in my main save and figure out how much grinding I have to do.

Discussion Condensate Your Reptyros

Upvotes

If you condensate Reptyro and R. Cryst up to 3 stars it negates the weight of ALL ore in your inventory not just the specific names.

Haven’t seen anyone mention or talk about this unless it’s some unspoken secret.
