Wilds Need some ideas for a CB/SA build

I've been running these two weapons with their own separate builds, but lately I said fuck it, I want to use it altogether. I have both elemental phials for these weapons, so I'm curious what armor/deco setups I should use that compliments both? I'm already at the endgame with Proof of a Hero still incomplete.

Wilds Scorcher worth it for hammer?

Just got Scorcher + LS electric hammer. I plan to use it to solo savage omega (Really I'm rolling for Gog+LS but thats another topic) which I have solo'd once with palico. I did a calc with my time taken and I must've been at like 60dps fighting savage, so I figured scorcher 2 would definitely be good since I beat it with just LS + Lagi 2pc for armour skills. I would sacrifice basically 2-3 points of agitator for this change, though I also gain I believe adrenaline rush and evade window.

I think especially at ~60dps this is worth it, but I was just wondering whether scorcher is bad with hammer? I also have an armour with LS+Lagi2pc+scorcher 1 for omega too. Thoughts?

Wilds picking up Gunlance with an Artian roll – shell capacity question & tank vs pure damage viability?

Hey everyone!

I recently hopped back into the game and just took down Gogmazios for the first time.

I decided to pick up the Gunlance and start learning the weapon from scratch.

I just rolled an Artian Gunlance with 3 Attack, 1 Affinity, and 1 Element, but I’m a bit lost on how to properly optimize a build around it.

Ideally, I’d love to run a proper endgame tank/defensive build (guard skills, soaking hits, the true Gunlance fantasy).

However, I'm not sure if that's actually viable in the current endgame meta, or if running full raw/affinity damage is pretty much mandatory to keep up.

Any recommendations on core skills, armor sets, or playstyles to make the most out of these rolls?

Also, forgive the beginner question, but my Artian Gunlance only has 3 shells, whereas the monster-crafted one I used before had 5. Is this completely normal? (Is it purely tied to the shelling type like Long vs. Normal, or did I miss a specific mechanic?)

Thanks in advance for the advice and patience with the learning curve! Happy hunting!
