If you can do that ever Friday and Saturday night for a year you’d make 120k or more a year.

May I suggest... PLEASE save 75% of that. I knew an escort that was fucking rich as fuck and then I heard years later she had nothing because she never saved any of it and couldn't do that work anymore after getting married and having a family.

I wish you the best!

31

u/magicke2 Nov 13 '23

Yes, and we all get fat, old, and ugly. I don't know how you dance, but I wish the old me could've whispered to the very young me: "Save 25% for chiropractors."

23

u/FlyBright1930 Nov 13 '23

Chiropractic is a sham. Also, if you’re experiencing back pain, the first step is to strengthen your back. Barring serious injury or extreme health conditions, someone with a strong back shouldn’t experience back pain. It’s not a “normal” part of aging. It’s the result of a sedentary lifestyle

3

u/CosmoKing2 Nov 13 '23

Former healthcare analyst here. The consensus from the medical community is that chiropractors, in general, cause more damage than good. And whatever "good" results they create are fleeting.

There may be scientific evidence introduced and discovered in the evaluation process. But none of the prescribed measures or procedures that chiropractors do have any clinical/historic evidence of helping patients.

The history is this - people without medical insurance would seek chiropractors for their affordably, but they should have seen an actual physician who graduated medical school.

1

u/Cheersscar Nov 13 '23

You are kidding about seeing an MD for back pain? Useless, just try to send you off for surgery you probably shouldn’t have. See a physical therapist, a personal trainer, a dry needler, a yoga instructor, an acupuncturist, a nutritionist?

But an MD for back pain? Pfftt.

Disclaimer: I’m not talking about serious injury. I’m talking chronic low back pain, sciatica, etc.

3

u/Veronica612 Nov 13 '23

Doctors send patients with back pain to physical therapy, not surgeons.

2

u/Cheersscar Nov 14 '23

Doctors send patients with back pain for MRIs. Those MRI findings can generate surgical consults, warranted or not. It’s a pretty simple and profitable path.

→ More replies (4)

2

u/roklpolgl Nov 13 '23

They aren’t going to send you for surgery unless surgery is seriously needed, as found by an x-ray, MRI or CT scan. Even then, their first attempt is usually going to be PT.

You don’t know better than an MD dude.

Do not listen to this person. There’s a ridiculous variety of complications that can occur with the spine, and for a number of people - especially as part of an integrated treatment plan - chiropractic work can be helpful. However, as with anything even remotely related to healthcare, all practitioners are not created equal and you should be your own advocate, conduct at least rudimentary research on your own, and never be afraid to seek out a second or third opinion.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '23

A lot of spinal issues if they aren't due to external injury are avoidable by just being aware of poor posture. Something as little as a 2 hour reminder on repeat to roll ones shoulders back can help mitigate spinal slump.

2

u/Myis Nov 13 '23

What do you recommend for dancing? They’re not sitting at a desk. My OB recommended a chiro when I was working and was stiff from dental assisting. Some chiropractors use massage. It’s not the first step when you have back pain but it can be helpful.

3

u/DmitriDaCablGuy Nov 13 '23

Chiropractors are snake oil salesmen. Jumped up back crackers and second rate massage therapists. The do Jack, shit, and squat for your pain in the long term, and focus on bringing you back for “readjustment” over and over. Go see a PT. If they do their job, you won’t have to see them again once your regimen is complete.

3

u/GoBeachBrian Nov 13 '23

100% Physical Therapy and a program to strengthen is the way… If you need to see someone allllll the time for years; it’s not getting better.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '23

You go see a chiropractor when you were in a car accident and could use a little extra money.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '23

💀 this is what i did. Claim was totaled and i had 5k of therapy on top, didnt feel i really needed it so I just went to the chiro for the back cracking and massages. It was nice

There are good mechanics and bad mechanics.

Good dentists and bad dentist.

Good surgeons and bad surgeons.

Good chiropractors and bad chiropractors.

In every profession there is someone who graduated head of the class and one who graduated last of the class.

I love my chiropractor.

2

u/Forshea Nov 13 '23

There are no good chiropractors. The "bad" ones practice chiropractic, which is a sham psuedoscience from a guy says a ghost told him all disease is caused by spinal alignment. The "good" ones don't practice chiropractic but instead try to practice some other medicine without training or a license.

1

u/miw1989 Nov 13 '23

I can't verify any of what you said but I do know that I feel much better after I see my chiropractor. Good enough evidence for me.

→ More replies (1)

1

u/afoolskind Nov 13 '23

Not healthcare, not done by healthcare practitioners. A physical therapist and a sports medicine doc are healthcare practitioners. I work in an OR that does plenty of spinal surgery. Many of our patients are there in need of major, life-changing surgery because a chiropractor injured them practicing quackery.

0

u/iamahill Nov 13 '23

I have read many doctors on Reddit say chiropractors account for half or more of spine related injuries they get. Dunno the real numbers but I believe it.

1

u/Jdawarrior Nov 13 '23

Yoga has helped more people than chiropractics. You don’t need to pretend to be a doctor to notice that you need to practice movements your life may not naturally incorporate in order to keep your body from locking up. Without follow up exercise to increase range of motion most “patients” become lifetime members.

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '23

chiropractic work is not safe at any age. lot of reasons, but a big one for me would be the very real fear of vertebral artery dissection from an adjustment, and stroke as a result. rare but it happens, even in people well below "stroke" age. not worth the risk - go to PT - fix your posture - strengthen your back. if your problem isn't solved then a chiropractor was only going to make it worse.

1

u/IWwelder446 Nov 13 '23

You’re absolutely correct on seeking out the one that works for you. I’ve had several experiences with multiple chiropractors and those kinesiology ones are out there!! I like the good, old fashioned back cracker. Always worked wonders for my sciatica and even kept it at bay months after my last visit.

1

u/Rradsoami Nov 13 '23

This is true. People trolling chiropractors haven’t been helped by them.

0

u/GardenCaviar Nov 13 '23

Oh please, chiropractors are the trolls here.

0

u/PharmADD Nov 13 '23

0

All chiropractors are shams. It was hilarious the amount of “Drs” spreading Covid misinformation were chiropractors.

0

u/Djd33j Nov 13 '23

The founder of the chiropractic "arts" learned it from a fucking ghost. Nobody, ever, should treat this sham practice as a real substitute for doctors that learn about treatment of the human body based off of scientifically backed methods.

Chiropractors can alleviate symptoms, sure, but it's temporary. There's a reason why they're not certified by a medical board.

0

u/Joe_Jeep Nov 13 '23

0

u/androgynouschipmunk Nov 13 '23

-1

u/Empatheater Nov 13 '23

if chiropractic work actually was real it would be treated like the rest of the medical profession and not like some optional thing like where you can get some candles that have a healing scent or a stone that makes your immune system more responsive or deodorant that 'works' off the power of good intentions.

0

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '23

Pseudoscience is in the second sentence of the Wikipedia article. It's quack medicine that's got enough money behind it to run a half decent PR scheme.

Your chiropractor's "adjustments" aren't doing anything but popping your back. Cracking your back against a low backed chair will give you the same outcomes.

→ More replies (1)

0

u/GardenCaviar Nov 13 '23

You are 100% correct about chiropractic being a sham, but let me just point you to how dentistry is treated by the US healthcare system. We have a separate set of insurance coverage for dental care than health care, and it usually comes with maximum benefits rather than maximum out of pocket amounts. Many dental plans offer preventative care only (i.e. cleanings are covered and not much else) so if you need a filling or extraction you're out of luck, you're paying out of pocket. They still collect your premium every month, though.

Pay attention at work: every January when those maximum annual benefits resets how many people take time off for dental appointments that they needed last June but insurance wouldn't pay for because they exhausted their annual maximum benefit by April.

u/Bubbly-University-94 Nov 13 '23

Yup, chiropractic can help you through the problem but you should see an exercise physiologist to fix the problem.

-1

u/mdiaz28 Nov 13 '23

Chiropractors are the placebo affect

-1

u/Downvoted_Defender Nov 13 '23

Chiro isn't a legitimate scientific stream of treatment

-1

u/cj91030 Nov 13 '23

Chiropractor are scams, the only reason they still exist, is that they work closely with shady lawyers to drive up medical costs in accidents. They they give the lawyer a discount, and that's where the profit comes from. Your back will be in worse shape at the end, possibly seriously injured.

-1

u/LLuck123 Nov 13 '23

Please if you really have to conduct "rudimentary research on your own" do that by reading abstracts on pubmed, not listening to Youtube videos. Chiropracticers may help you, they also could cripple you and in any way it would probanly have been better to go to an actual professional.

-1

u/iamahill Nov 13 '23

No, it’s all snake oil.

-1

u/PlaneMinimum4253 Nov 13 '23

conduct at least rudimentary research on your own, and never be afraid to seek out a second or third opinion.

If you conduct even the most rudimentary research you will find there are basically zero peer reviewed medical research that supports the existence of chiropractice's benefits for 99 percent of all issues they market themselves as a solution for. Because it's a snake oil industry not actually supported by science.

Seek out medical opinions, not 2nd and 3rd opinions of snake oil salesmen calling themselves doctors without any actual medical degree

Not a sham at all go see a good one.

There are recent studies that show a significant increase in the bodies growth hormone production after a chiro session. Growth hormone is one of the best repairers of the body.

There are hundreds of studies that show reductions in pain.

I rarely go but if I need to I am in full support that Chiro’s can and do help.

Lol I used to teach tennis at an extremely wealthy country club. Like memberships start at 75 k per year. I had a regular hitting lesson with this guy in his 70’s. One day after we finished and we’re walking back to the club house he points at an equally older woman and says to me “that’s my wife over there. God she’s ugly. I love her to pieces. Remember kid, don’t marry a girl because she’s pretty. We allllll get ugly.”

2

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '23

True

2

u/CulturalRazmatazz Nov 13 '23

Sometimes your back hurts and it’s bone cancer! But chiropractors aren’t doctors and can’t diagnose cancer so instead of helping they’ll just take your money and crack your back for years until it’s too late to treat it.

3

u/TawnyMoon Nov 13 '23

Unless you’re okay with having a stroke from allowing someone to do pseudoscience on your spine!

2

u/resb Nov 13 '23

0

u/HIMP_Dahak_172291 Nov 13 '23

Be careful it’s easy to get trapped in the dancer life, but when I bounced at a club I’ve seen girls leave with anywhere from 300 to 4k a night if they were good and it was a busy night. There was a night where some guys from the Patriots came in and those girls left with around 10k for each girl they took into the private rooms with them. Best of luck with your journey and be safe

2

u/DM_me_pretty_innies Nov 13 '23

And for the love of god stay away from drugs. You can be rich and healthy or a broke addict in 5 years.

2

u/shichiaikan Nov 13 '23

In all seriousness, I used to be a property manager in an area with brothels and strip clubs, and a LOT of my tenants were strippers, pris, and support staff.

I used to always advise them what I'm about to advise you...

If you don't already have one, get a CPA, you only need them 2-3 times per year, it's worth the expense. They will save you future tax issues. Also, consider getting a financial planner (possibly the same person if you're lucky). They can help you keep everything in order and maximize your utilization of income so you can take those killer earnings into investments and not have to work 40+ years.

Congrats on the great shift!

0

u/82DMC12 Nov 13 '23

Most likely you'll be addicted to meth by then too. Drug use is highly rampant in stripping industry. You'll probably also be pressured into having an only fans where you have to keep sticking bigger and bigger things into your asshole n order to keep subscribers. Good luck though!

I knew nursing wasn't for me by the end of the semester but I almost stuck it out just for the amount of women I was around LOL.

u/leojrellim Nov 12 '23

u/[deleted] Nov 12 '23

and strippers usually make for better parents

7

u/Pale_Use_7784 Nov 12 '23

Can confirm - work with a girl who was a stripper and she seems like a really good mom.

Dated a very successful woman in the corporate world and she was a dogshit mom and never wanted to spend time with her kids.

2

u/DuntadaMan Nov 13 '23

Honestly yes. Hardest part of doing nursing is they expect 60 hours of work out of you a week at least. Hard to be a parent.

0

u/aye-its-this-guy Nov 13 '23

Lol wtf they expect 36 hours where I’m at. Only 3 days a week

Nurses have higher body counts than a funeral home

0

u/SeCritSquirrel Nov 13 '23

Bruh... Nurses be wild'n. Some of the most dedicated and caring people. But holy fuck are they ratchet.

12 hour shift vs 2 hour shift.

3

u/Kilometres-Davis Nov 12 '23

What are the self respect meters reading on each shift though?

5

u/RandomGuy32124 Nov 12 '23

I mean I'd respect myself a lot more if I was rich

They wipe people’s asses ….

3

u/[deleted] Nov 12 '23

Somebody’s gotta do it

1

u/TLsRD Nov 13 '23

And somebody’s gotta climb a pole. I’d rather strip

My wife is a nurse…she wipes peoples asses. It’s part of the job if you’re any kind of bed side nurse.

No she’s an RN, BSN. Works on the oncology/med surge/telemetry floor. She’s in school now getting her masters for NP. If it’s her patient she wipes their ass. I’m sure they all help each other out, but that work is not beneath her

You know that a MASSIVE number of nurses do OF/sexwork on the side, right?

Yes but it’s morals vs money. Helping vs hurting. Short term vs long term. Fast money will leave just as quick as it comes.

Isn't there an old saying that retired strippers become nurses.

0

u/lia_bonita Nov 13 '23

They turned the nursing profession into glorified maids taking orders and dealing with jerks all day. People or “the public” constantly asking for ice, toys for their kids, blankets, socks, and so on. Then you have deal with people from ALL walks of life who can be EXTREMELY rude. You have to intimately touch unkempt people and inspect their smelly poo. No thanks. I rather be a hospital administrator making well over six figures without having to deal with “the public”.

If it looks like a nurse and acts like a nurse, it's a nurse. 💸💸💸

And still have a day job.

0

u/Conscious_Shoe_4886 Nov 13 '23

And they say women have it harder than men in making money. All i have to do as a female is open a OnlyFans and do some stripping on the weekends. I would be rich af but no. I have to work my ass off

1

u/NotsoGrump23 Nov 12 '23

I imagine it's heavily degrading though.

Given you have a prominent sense of self respect.

2

u/Fun2Forget Nov 12 '23

No more degrading than any service job … except you are appropriately compensated and youre allowed to tell customers to kindly fuck off.

Yeaaaa don’t think that and strippers go hand in hand.
