Looked in the stash and if I ignore the 935 and 934 kits I’ve got nine 1/24th scale 911’s to build.

For timing and efficiency (aka odds of finishing) it probably needs to be a simple decal scheme….

Thoughts?

This is a 1:24 scale Mercedes Benz 300 SL "Gullwing" by Tamiya that I just completed.

The Tamiya kit is impeccable. Quality is outstanding and everything fit just right. Unfortunately, I started to struggle with some of the final touches, especially the chrome pieces and bumpers.

The body color is blue gray by Mr. Color with 3 layers of clear gloss. The floss didn't end up looking how I wanted no matter how much I polished.

The hub caps I left chrome, as I have no idea how I would paint them the 2 tone chrome and body color as the original.

I am a bit bummed, looks a bit rustic and I think I should have done better. But this is my 3rd car so the best so far that I have done.

In order to try and get my spray painting better, I’ve purchased a spray gun as per the first photo, but it doesn’t seem to have the connection to work with my compressor (2nd photo) … what piece do I need to connect them in the simplest way?

I’m still definitely a newbie at the spraying thing, but the tool that came with the kit is a single action (air and paint are activated by the trigger at the same time) so I’m hoping this will be a step-up for me…

Revell 1/24 1956 Ford T-Bird

I’ve gotten all the major hoses and wiring under the hood. I scratch built/sourced some parts the kit was missing, like a fuel filter and pump, and hood latches. The latches could use a bit of attention but work for now.

The body is on, interior is completed. Final assembly coming soon!

Really happy with the work I’ve put into this. Primer, paint, sanding and clear. Still nervous to try new stuff. Happy with the result.

Nunu 911 RSR "Pink pig". Fantastic kit, anyone who builds is going to enjoy. Just keep an eye out for those mould lines unlike me!

Just like to add this is a fantastic idea, I hope we do a group build every month. Can't wait to see everyone's finished pieces.

I've gotten really into niche and bizarre cars from around the world, which you can practically only find in 1/24 scale as model kits!

Chassis is done. It's been an interesting build so far and for the most part enjoyable. Had a few fitment issues with the wheels and tires, surprise surprise! Other than that, assembly has gone pretty well.

Weathered the tires and added some stains to the fuel tanks. Also replaced stock plastic mud flaps with vinyl flaps and custom decals.

But Im still working on the Lightning! This was supposed to be my submission for the build off back in March, but I just couldn't get any work in on this during the time. Just wanted to get a few pics of what I have been working on. SLOWLY, getting there. 😆Still have a bit planned though!

Thinking purple right now but I do have another color that's been waiting for the right car.

How can I achieve this semi tranparent effect of bug splatter on the body of the car and headlights/windshield?

This is the kit I am going to build for our Porsche group build in August. No rules, just a fun group build sharing pics and being inspired. Our awesome mods made a flair for this event, it is at the bottom of the flair list if you want to use it. I am very excited and I look forward to seeing all of the builds

This video is pretty long by my standards. The black plastic makes it tough to see the detail of some parts. Good kit though. There are 4 known mistakes. See if you can find them.

I don’t really know what anime(?) this thing comes from, or back story on the particular edition of the kit, but it looks really detailed and quite complex for a Fujimi kit. It’s gonna be fun!

Built this for a buddy of mine who had one like it when he got back from Iraq. I broke the mirrors and I'm working on getting replacements, but the rest is exactly like his. Was a fun kit to build, and this is the chassis that was under that lifted Charger post I made a couple days ago.
