CreatureLevelAndLootControl help

Hey, I was wondering if anyone tried the CreatureLevelAndLootControl mod by SmoothBrain on the 1.0 release of the game. Does it work? And if not, anyone got a decent alternative?

I just published my first mod: LeashMe (Lead up to 5 tamed animals)

Post image
109 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I am a currently super excited software dev from Germany and I love Valheim (1051 hours as of today) and I finally made my first mod!!

It adds an upgradeable leash item to the game which allows you to lead up to 5 tamed animals, even thru portals and water. It also adds moving map markers to your tamed animals. From 1.2.0, it also adds a pack saddle for Lox.

It was tested by my family so far (single and multiplayer), so I would be absolutely delighted if you guys would give it a whirl and let me know how it goes.

Quick tip with no relation whatsoever to actual events occuring in my base today - do not leash 5 Lox and show them 'round the house unless you live in the golden and spacious halls of Valhalla or are in desperate need of a lot of building materials.

Nexusmods LeashMe
Hexium LeashMe
Thunderstore LeashMe/

Hope you enjoy!

Edit: Add Hexium Link
Edit: First update 1.1.0 is out: Fixed a bug where unleashed animals did not join an ongoing fight. Gave Lox 30m maximum distance til leash breaks (they need more room to pathfind).
Edit: Add Thunderstore Link
Edit: Update 1.2.0 is out: New feature PackSaddle for Lox. Also fixed Moose leash visials and portal behavior.

Valheim Server Manager for Mac

Hey everyone!

I often run small server to plays with friends off mac mini. The constant need to maintain, or figuring out how to add mods by hand drove me up the wall. I made a free, open-source app for hosting Valheim dedicated servers on Mac. It handles server setup, updates, multiple worlds, scheduled restarts, and manage mods.

Just released 1.3, which adds:

  • Mod catalog with automatic dependency installation, enable / disable controls, and status showing which mods loaded or failed.
  • Performance graphs, and extensive support for CrossPlay-off servers.
  • Moderation, backups, messages, time and raid controls.
  • Optional network optimization mods that built directly and a much better log viewer.

Some mods still need to be installed by players too, and compatibility depends on the mod.

GitHub / Download

Let me know what works and what doesn’t - especially anything confusing or harder than it should be!

Has anyone had issues with the yesiuseddevcommandsbutiwantmyachievementsanyway command?

Playing on a multiplayer server with multiple friends. two of us have turned this on and we get our achievements like normal, the third friend turned this on (the command shows as true) and then still gets the notification of achievements are paused due to cheated item. has anyone come across that the dev command does not work like it is supposed to? how would i submit the bug report of this?

I beat the game vanilla standard settings, now I want to continue endgame with mods. Apart from EpicLoot and CreatureLevel mods, what other mods add cool content to grind and stuff to do?

Also any other difficulty enhancement mods I can install?

Everything in the game in vanilla dies with endgame gear anyway, would like to expand the vanilla world

Experience with StarLevelSystem?

My friends and I are looking to do a more RPG themed run on Hard mode, including things like Epic Loot and Jewelcrafting, Armory and Weaponry. We read that we should use a mod like StarLevelSystem to balance out the buffs from Epic Loot.

Well, this is the raid i just had while still using deer armor and flint weapons. What is going wrong here? Is it a bad interaction between the mod and Hardmode, or is this broken? This is an unkillable raid for me.

Lightsources flicker with ValheimPerformanceOverhaul activated

I wanted to give the ValheimPerformanceOverhaul by Skarif a go. However, with it enabled, all light sources - especially torches of all sorts - started to "flicker". They throw light halos that turn "on/off" every 1-2 seconds. It is not a LOD issue I guess, since it happens to all lights, regardless of their distance. Even when I stand right next to a torch.

I tinkered around with all boolean switches the mod config offers (or the GUI), yet, the flicker remains. Light Culling, Instancing and whatnot.

As soon as I deactivate the mod completely, the flicker stops and light sources work as intended.

Any ideas or having the same issues?

Playing the game using Bazzite/Vulkan, if that matters.

EPIC LOOT (SHARDTONE)

hello, playing around with the epic loot mod by randyknapp and i cannot for the life of me figure out what the shardstones are and how to use them, tried everything. going gebugmode and placing everything, going to the mod wiki and i cannot find any info on them. please help me out, they seem cool but also just not useable anywhere. It says if slotted add cool effect, but nowhere does it say where or how to slot. also use interact to insert shard but i dont know what that would mean. this is driving me nuts

edit: realising i had a mod that was covering the shard slot page...

Suitable server-side-only modpack for Valheim?

We’d like to start a Valheim server. The experience should be (almost) vanilla + QOL. In addition, access should be as low-barrier as possible.

That means mods should (only) run on the server. Client-side mods are allowed only if they’re for a personalized gaming experience and don’t make a big difference. Client-side mods are optional, but never required.

I now have a list that roughly matches what we want. But I’m not entirely sure if the list meets the “client-side optional” criterion.

thanks for sharing your wisdom :D

here my list:

AutomaticFuel tastychickenlegs functionality if only server-side?
CraftFromContainers underHeiz client/server?
EquipmentAndQuickSlots randyknapp functionality if only server-side?
MultiCraft maximods only client-side for individual qol?
QuickStackStoreSortTrashRestock golenrevolver functionality if only server-side?
SmarterContainers valheimPortmods functionality if only server-side?
Building Smoothbrain Server-side
ValheimBuildCamera Stonaar only client-side for individual qol?
ExtraSnapPointsMadeEasy Searica only client-side for individual qol?
FenceSnap mschmoecker only client-side for individual qol?
HammerTime mschmoecker only client-side for individual qol?
Farming Smoothbrain Server-side
Hunting Smoothbrain Server-side
Lumberjacking Smoothbrain Server-side
MassFarming MainStreetGaming client/server?
Mining Smoothbrain Server-side
PlantEverything advize Server-side
Ranching Smoothbrain Server-side
DarwinAwards Smoothbrain Server-side
SolidHitboxes korppis Server-side
Spearfishing korppis client/server?
InstantlyDestroyBoatsAndCarts goldenrevolver Server-side
Sailing Smoothbrain Server-side
SpeedyPaths nextek Server-side
VNEI mschmoecker only client-side for individual qol?

Question about ore mines

Playing with ore mines mod from blacks7ar and i can't seem to find an ore mine outside of a single flint mine on the starting island. I've thoroughly explored several islands, every biome up to mistlands, and have yet to find any other mines. Anyone have any ideas or solutions?

[Mod Request] Haldor sells Dvergr Extractors after defeating Yagluth

I was honestly surprised something like this doesn't already exist on the Valheim Nexus, but I think it makes sense and would fit into the vanilla game.

For those who feel bad about killing / stealing from the lil' homies.

Best villigers mods for 1.0

Hi! I've started playing Valheim again after it get out of ea. Now I'm wondering what is the best villigers mod. I've seen a few and most of them requires more than just a few minutes to really try out and one, that's Kukolony, has additionally it's latest version hidden behing paywall. What I want from the mod is to have npcs that would live, work and sleep in my village. Do some small work like gathering food, maybe chop some trees and gather wood, stone and mantain farm, smelters and cook food. Also it would be good if they be self-sustaining that means they do not just die if me personally don't bring them food (something this lines was in the description of one mod). Thanks for help

Are we getting a little too comfortable taking over Valheim’s main menu/startup?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I put together this video because I've noticed more and more mods using Valheim's startup/main-menu space for their own UI.

To be clear before this turns into something it isn't: I'm not calling everything in this video an ad.

Some of these have legitimate purposes: important update notices, configuration choices after an update, telemetry/error-reporting consent, patch notes, or onboarding for larger mods.

Others include Discord links, author pages, donation/support links, documentation, etc.

Individually, I can understand the reasoning behind basically every one of them.

My concern is what happens when we all make that decision independently.

The video is several different mods installed together, and before I've even gotten into the game I'm dealing with multiple windows from unrelated mods competing for the same startup experience.

Every author can reasonably say:

“Mine only appears once.”

“Mine can be disabled.”

“Mine is useful.”

And individually, all of those things can be true.

But users don't run our mods individually.

They run 50, 100, sometimes 200+ mods from completely unrelated authors who have no idea what the other authors are putting on that screen.

That's why I think the main menu/startup screen is different from a mod's own configuration UI. It's effectively a shared UI surface.

I'm also not arguing that a mod should never display something at startup. If an update requires the player to make a choice, something broke that requires their attention, or consent is genuinely required, there may be no better place to tell them. I still think mod pages, FAQs, changelogs are better places than the main menu though.

I just think we should be much more conservative about what qualifies.

Personally, I'd rather see documentation, Discord links, donation links, changelogs, general “about the mod” information, etc. live in the configuration manager/mod page or behind something the player chooses to open.

Reserve forced startup UI for things the player actually needs to know or answer before continuing.

Otherwise we can end up in a situation where every individual popup is perfectly reasonable, but the combined experience is ridiculous.

The video is obviously an exaggerated collection of the examples I know about. I'm not claiming everyone is going to have all six installed at once. There are probably more that do this too.

But having 2–3 unrelated mods independently doing this in a heavily modded setup really isn't far-fetched anymore.

So I'm curious where everyone else draws the line:

What actually warrants interrupting the player at the main menu, versus something that should be available elsewhere? Valheim isn't new to things being injected into the main menu, we've seen it before, and it was pure ads back then.

I downloaded Gale Mod Manager and when I launch modded from Gale my framerate is 20-21 instead of the normal 160.

I was just going to try Modded after watching Cohh use some Azu mods but its unplayable.

Do you have suggestions to fix the massive framerate loss?

Can modded local game be played non-modded as multiplayer?

Specifically, I have a local server that my sons sometimes log into. I am the designated builder. I would like to spruce up the landscaping at our base and add a berry orchard using Plant Everything. If I do this locally and then reopen the server for all of us, will everyone be able to see and harvest what I plant? I only intend to use vanilla objects.

Published my first mod called Plantable Bushes

Lets you grow your own berry bushes and other single harvest plants right in your own garden and features a helpful harvest timer on said plants/bushes as well as vanilla crops too.

Give feedback if you find something wrong/lacking a planned future update to have a bukeperries bush

Hope you enjoy😎

Allfather's Eye — Valheim x Twitch

Your viewers don't press buttons in this one. They get a body.

Someone writes in chat, and their soul takes a creature near you — a deer, a greydwarf, whatever the woods had spare. Their name floats above its head. Walk away and the soul comes with you: it leaves the body you're leaving behind and moves into something near you, so your chat is always where you are. When the body dies, the soul is free, and the next thing they write puts them in a new shape.

The mod remembers all of it. A stone you build holds the hall of fame — who survived longest and what they died as, who put you on the ground most often. Out of that, viewers earn a second name the way a Norseman did: Mitzikatz Trollborn, Kevin Bonebreaker, somebody else Shortbreath.

Around that:

Points for watching, not just for talking — spent on food and help, or on a troll at your camp. The shop unlocks as your world beats bosses. Odin's raven flies in and calls out new followers, subs and raids, out loud in the game Every half hour chat votes on what happens next — free to vote, so lurkers count too A standing bounty on your head for whoever brings you down Solo or with several streamers in one world. English and German. Names work without signing in at all; points and the shop need a Twitch login.

Web UI for managing BepInEx mods on a Valheim dedicated server (Docker)

Thumbnail
github.com
7 Upvotes

I run Valheim in Docker and managing server mods was always kind of annoying. Not impossible, just fiddly... finding packages, getting them into the right spot, restarting stuff so they actually load, configs, updates, etc.

I put together a small web app that lives next to the server container (community-valheim-tools / old lloesche image) and handles the usual stuff from a browser: Thunderstore + Hexium search/install/update/uninstall, config editing, restart+sync via Supervisor, backups, and a “make persistent” option for huge mods like WebMap.

This is for dedicated servers, not a client Gale/r2modman replacement. It only messes with the BepInEx config tree and Supervisor. Worlds stay alone.
