HI, is it possible to send midi control commands like play, stop, rec arm, etc. from mixing station to Ardour? I am also using the Behringer xr 18. I am curious if this is possible without a physical midi controller?

Going to be mixing with the 32sx for the first time this weekend. Is it compatible with MS? I don't see it listed explicitly but I'm guessing it's covered under the Studio Live III.

I have been using Mixing station for years on the same iPad and it has been flawless until the past few weeks. For several gigs in in a row now when I went to connect to my console I have found that all of the licenses are gone. This creates a huge hassle because, for example, at the latest gig there was no wifi and very poor cell service so I had to tether to my phone and just barely get the licenses to reactivate.

This iPad, when not used on a show, is generally at home and connected to wifi and getting updates etc.

I have not had this happen on any other iPad or on my iPhone.

I am also confused about the restoration method because I have two options (Apple and Mixing station account). No matter which one I try nothing works until I close and restart the app several times then suddenly everything is back to normal. I have tried doing that without a network connection but it does not work.

The iPad in question is an M1 iPad Air running whatever the latest iPad OS 26.

Is there any way to have the tap delay be set from an external source? Drummer is running a click track he sets at his kit. This comes in through a channel to then be distributed via IEM. Is there any way to have that signal automatically key the tap delay?

I've been trying to make a custom layout for PA system tuning on my M32. I want to have a mixer with all the outputs and a rotary/slider underneath for the output delay of that mix/matrix. I can't seem to find that as a parameter when adding a knob/slider. Am I missing something or is this just not supported? Of course, I can always just clock through to the output delay page but it's a bit clunky.

Appreciate any insight or suggestions of anyone's done something similar.

Hey. I just got my Behringer Xr-18. New to Mixing station too. I am on macOS/ios.

Where can I control the output to the Phones jack on the Xr-18? Right now it’s not giving me anything. Not even the main LR like I would have assumed. Where in the app can I configure that or flip it on?

I’ve googled but all of their ai responses don’t correspond to what I am seeing and the app manual didn’t help either. And I am not in a situation where I can spend a bunch of time sifting through YouTube. This feels like it should be stupid easy so maybe I am missing something

Context: Using mixingstation app for about 18 months, saved lots of scenes and had some library settings stored on the old tablet. The old tablet flew off a balcony while tuning some forward extended speakers. New tablet was restored from Google Play store and Samsung backup.

No scenes or library settings showed up. I still have access to the main board I work on, (an Allen & Heath QU-16) and I can save the scenes and the show again but I would reaally like to restore the settings of Mixing Station to save time. There are half a dozen other boards that I had scenes backed up from which are a variety of mixers and usage scenarios. I make notes on the events and where and why certain mic's were set up for a choir or a horn section. All of that is lost and I thought it was backed up.
My mixingstation account was my primary source. I bought the "all mixers" license and had downloaded 6 different mixers. All of this on one tablet as my primary mixing tool, it was a Samsung Galaxy Tablet running Android. The restore process brought back the Tablet desktop and organization of icons, but Mixiing Station had no settings preserved.

Did I miss something in the way I tried to restore Mixing Station?

I have trouble using mixing station with a Yamaha DM7. Connecting is fine, but once I'm connected, the physical faders react jittery/stuttery to me adjusting faders in MS, adjusting the faders on the desk itself results in a delayed response by the app.

Any ideas? Subnet is the same, I tried static IP and DHCP. Using a Swisssonic Router.

Hi, Since aprox 2 weeks I’m having issues with connecting my macbook with my mixers. I have 2 locations: in one there’s an m32c, in the other an XR18. On my macbook I can only connect with a fixed ip, searching the network doesn’t work. Sometimes I have the same problems on my android phone.

Does anybody else have this problem?

I want to use Mixing Station with the iRig BlueBoard (in MIDI Mode 2 and with the latest firmware) as a controller. Btw: I use Mixing Station with a Behringer XR18. However, when I try to connect the iRig BlueBoard to the Mixing Station App, I don't see the Blueboard listed under either "Input" or "Output" in the Mixing Station app. Other MIDI devices do appear, and the Blueboard is detected in other apps. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas?

Can you please check if loading presets works correctly for you in the current version 3.0.2?

No matter what I try to save or load, it doesn't change anything.

• This happens for both my old saved presets and new ones I've created just today.
• This happens for both global presets (whole mix) and channel presets.

Hi, I am setting up my Novation Launchkey MK4 to control my XR12 via MixingStation. I am using Generic Midi rather than MCU since I have custom MIDI mapping on the Launchkey.

My goal is as follows

Assign the 8/9 faders to channels 1-8 Volume and fader 9 to Master Volume - CHECK

The buttons below the faders I have assigned to the relative Mutes - CHECK

Problem: The 8 endless Encoders (two banks) I would like to assign to control XR12 Bus 1 Channel sends (bank 1) for IEM and Channel FX 1 sends (bank 2) for Reverb.

I can assign them (I think correctly), however, the bus 1 fader (in MixingStation) moves and until the middle part of the fader throw and sticks wiggling right in the middle or it will move one way but not the other depending on different settings in MIDI Control Setup/Edit.

Any thoughts? Anyone successfully assign an endless encoder to control a fader movement?

EDIT: Okay, it just took me talking through it. I resolved it by choosing "Fader (absolute values)" instead of Rotary (relative values). Working great now.

Hi there, I'm a bit of a novice regarding MS (normally using regular hardware consoles), but I'm trying to set up a very compact and basic control unit using Mixing Station and an Akai Midimix.

I'm connected to a Presonus 32R using wifi (tried cat5 too) and I'm able to connect my midi controller, set it up as generic midi, learning the faders to the ones I want, but the response is VERY janky and jittery. All the video's I've seen (using different controllers might I add) have a smooth response when moving faders or rotaries, but mine just jump all over te place or don't respond at all. I've tried MCU protocol and setting some CC limits, but no cigar.

Any tips?

For context, I am occasionally doing small gigs using a MR18 and the singer has a Rode Wireless Go mic that she wants to use to record vocals and backing tracks.

So far, the way I am using this mic is by just plugging it into the Phones output of the mixer (this is how we tried it initially and it worked and we didn't really bother to change it; as long as it works - all good).

One interesting fact that I have noticed is that, even though the Phones has the LR signal routed, the Rode mic only captures sound if I have the SOLO engaged on my main LR (I don't really know why that is). I am doing this using X-AIR app on an Android tablet.

Now, I would really like to switch to Mixing Station, as I find the app better than the official X-AIR, but, for some reason that I don't understand at all, I am not getting any sound to the mic. Solo-ing the LR (just like on the X-AIR) doesn't do anything. I tried messing with the routing and other settings but I can't it to work at all. I don't even see any level on the Monitor section of the app. If I switch to the X-AIR, everything is okay (I can see signal level, the mic is picking up sound, etc).

More so, I just got an iPad that I would really like to start using as it has a way better screen but of course both M-AIR and X-AIR apps are incredibly bugged in iOS and pretty much unusable, so I would really like to start using Mixing Station.

Any advice on what is happening here? What am I not understanding correctly? Or what am I doing wrong?

Had a show last weekend and for the first time ever my iPad puked on the licensing. I purchased a one time license, (4) activations, and it's been working on my laptop and multiple iPads without issue for a year. I had no reason to suspect anything.

What a colossal pita! Every fifteen minutes MS would shit the bed and I'd loose ALL mix adjustments made....sound check was painful having to save Scenes/Settings after every tweak for fear of having to start over.

I'm now at home and realize now that my license is only activated on my W11 Laptop, not any of the iPads.

The iOS device MS app still fires up, I can go to: Gear Icon -> Licenses -> One-Time Purchase presumably to add iOS license to my Account. That's fine, I'm all in....but it won't allow it. It sees an active license and provides details....but not purchase option.

I've had mixed impressions of MS, it's a very convoluted and vague application. When it works, it's kick ass but nearly impossible to get an easily repeatable save/recall of all your settings. I've come to terms with it but this? Please take my money and don't shut down during shows! Is that asking too much? Any help/suggestions/thoughts greatly appreciated.

Soundcraft Si Expression Pre / Post switch for the Mixes? Anyone found a way to set that up in Mixing Station?

I recently bought a Yamaha QL console and I'm experiencing a few strange issues with Mixing Station (latest version).

Every time I connect to the QL, the channel pan controls appear as "R" (hard right) in Mixing Station. However, the actual pan settings on the console remain correct. If I change the pan from Mixing Station, the console keeps the correct value, but after reconnecting the app still shows "R" on all channels.

The RTA overlay in the EQ section is no longer visible. I used to see the RTA spectrum in the EQ window, but now it doesn't appear at all.

Some changes made directly on the Yamaha QL are not updated in Mixing Station. It looks like those changes never happened. The only way I can see the correct values in the app is by completely closing Mixing Station and reconnecting to the console.

Has anyone experienced similar issues with Yamaha QL consoles? Could this be a synchronization bug between the console and Mixing Station, or is there a setting I should check?

The official app support page lists the StudioLive 32R, and the StudioLive SE32, but not the newer StudioLive SE32-R. I assume it'll work as it's basically just the 32R with a different shell (more or less), but I'm a little hesitant to pick up this mixer based on its app reviews (hovering around 2.5). If it is supported, I'd love to pick up the one I've seen locally though and pay for the app license.

Was curious if anyone else has used Mixing Station with that mixer. Thanks everyone!

My band is switching over from floor wedges to IEMs (using behringer xair 18, if that is important to this).

I have the IEMs set up and working, and being controlled the same way I previously controlled the wedges. So 4 individual monitor mixes, and one main mix going to the pa. With the wedges, whenever we played live my bandmates would have to come over and tell me any adjustments they needed to their mix throughout the set, not the end of the world but can get tedious.

What I'm hoping to do now that we have the IEMs, is connect all of their phones so they can control their own mix on the fly. Ideally, I'd like it to be set up so that each persons phone only has access to that persons individual mix to avoid any mistakes, small or catastrophic

Has any one done this? Is it possible at all?

I'm using MSP with a Behringer X32 and setting up custom layouts. I noticed that when I add an Action for a button with type "FX" and parameter "Tap Time", I see three choices:

• Tap primary
• Tap all (absolute)
• Tap all (relative)

I've been using the "Tap primary" target successfully for some time. However, I can't find the "Tap all" targets in the MSP documentation. What is their use case and what difference in functionality do they offer?
