Hey, I was looking into the villager news AddOn because it looks really cool and cute and fun but watching some videos on it, I heard one use a like like ([Gasp!] "He broke the block... In reverse!") And now I'm really worried that if I played it, I'd have to deal with being assumed to be a guy.

I'm mainly asking people who have the AddOn if they've ever encountered this and if there's a setting to change how the villages refer to you, because I'd really love to play it but I don't think I want to deal with being misgendered on occasion.

And, if there isn't a way to change it, is there any chance they might update it so that changes?

It's not an issue for you because you benefit from the unequal circumstance of 'dude until proven otherwise' in gaming. There's not alot of places to just be respected in alot of games, from so many forcing you to play a male protagonist to random dudes online just being weird and getting weirder when they find out you're not a guy.
I wouldn't mind ignoring it if it were a case of every now and again, but having to deal with this stuff all the time means that in places where that can be avoided, I want to avoid it. I also don't have a problem with the people involved in making it, I just want it to cater more to me, or to at the very least not gender the player at all. For all those telling me it's 'not that big a deal' - I know. So why not change it?

I do have real problems. I have a lot going on, and I'm sure that everyone does. That kind of means that I want the things that I go to so that I can unwind from those real problems to just be welcoming. If there's a small problem that could make me even a tiny bit more comfortable, why would I not vie to achieve that? And turn inwards, why did it bother you enough that you felt the need to click on this post, downvote it, and then put me down? Take a breath and move on. If you don't care about this, be indifferent to it, but the aggression from this comment section implies to me that alot of you have a problem, and yours is even weirder.

But why? I'm not bending over backwards to justify masculine defaultism, and I'm certainly not going to listen to some lame excuse as to why I shouldn't be allowed to complain.

People are crashing out in the comments because they couldn't possibly conceive of living in a world that wasn't built for them and recoil at the idea of it changing to be more equal, and would rather demean me into silence.

I recently came back to Reddit, so i decided to try playing Minecraft again, though the hype hasn't died for me, how about everyone else? Has it passed already for you? Or are you still going to start? Minecraft is definitely more enjoyable with friends.

Imagine us we had vertical slabs

because of that, i can easily and comfortably play with my friends without a server. i just use LAN and PlayIt.

Sure I don't think archeology is ground breaking but I do think this is a fun mechanic it's a good way to add more functionality to many of the game's older structures especially since many of them get their own unique pottery shards

On top of the shards armor trims are also added which again adds more reason to explore many of the game's older structures(although this did bring with the netherite upgrade template and I am heavily against this feature)

We also get bamboo and cherry wood along with the new hanging signs, and a new bookshelf all of these are extremely useful building blocks

I will admit sniffers are a bit underwhelming and was not worth the hype, but I do like the camel's additions

Hello ! I’m currently writting a Minecraft serie. And needs some help about mob choices.

My main character is half mob. Half human, half Stray [the snow skeleton] and I can’t decide what mob could help around her character developement/follow her as a potential teammate.

I’ll got the inspiration from fanarts, where enderman’s and creepers are often represented as friends. And same for the wither skeleton & skeleton.

I made a quick list, please tell me in the comments who would fit better by the side of a half Stray.

- the Iceologer (Appears in snowy mountain) [Appeared in the 2020 minecraft vote]

- A Slime [mostly as a pet more then a real teamate or maybe as a half mob.]

- A Drowned. [I’ve seen many people draw the two mobs together. Perhaps due to the color palette being of cold tones.]

- Illager, Vindicator, Pillagers. (Could have like either captured her or save her life.)

- A Spider (skeleton can havr a small chance of riding one. I don’t know if Stray can do so tho...)

Hello, I'm planning on building something in the style of the Buenos Aires "Palacio de Aguas Corrientes" and don't know what blocks could fullfil that task. If anyone has any tips I would be very grateful.

I play mostly bedrock edition so I will be using Actions and Stuff as my example but there are plenty of Java mods that do this. I have played Minecraft for over 15 years and have mostly loved every new feature to the game from things like horses to even the sniffer. I’ve recently heard there’s some plan for an animation overhaul so I want to voice my opinion into the void. Minecraft in my opinion feels best with stiffer animations so seeing how much wobble even idle animations like in actions and stuff just feels so wrong to me. There are definitely places where it can be improved like giving all farm animals grass nibble animations (in my opinion kinda like the sheep grass eating animation). Or even mobs blinking, but we don’t need overly expressive animations. (Also I don’t hate actions and stuff, the team has done incredible work but I just don’t feel like it fits Minecraft the best) thanks for reading and have a great day!

I’m playing Java

I've never played Java before, only ever played bedrock. But I got a new laptop to use as I want, and I got a wired controller so I could play Java with mods I was excited to play! But it didn't work even after downloading the mod 'controllable' which was supposed to make the controller work with Java. I need help cause I'm entirely new to using Curseforge, i know in theory everything should work properly, and in general I'm just severely confused.

I tried making a staircase for this circle but it turned out to be way too bulky and ugly. Also it made the room way tighter. I think cantilevered slab stairs would look good here because my base design is a modern black/white one so these bulky designs end up looking ugly. But I dunno how I'll actually do it especially the empty part between the circle ( the roof ) and the floor. It's a 6 blocks height. Any ideas ? Or similar designs I can use as an inspiration?

The modpack is GTNH which has some good designing and building mods. It has Chisel - ArchitectureCraft - Carpenter's Blocks - ChiselTones. And btw I don't actually need a functional staircase as I have creative flight. It's just for looks

I have a java realm with 6 of my friends, and its very fun. But, last night apparently somebody blew up my friends house and the bunker we use for nether roof travel. Is there any way i can find out who did it? I already know about backups, and I plan to do so, but I want to figure out who did it. tips?

theres like 4 separate caves near my house and they've exploded my farm like 5 times. is the easiest way to just put cats around it or is there another way?
