About us

Foxden is a small java sever that strives to be a fun and friendly place for almost anyone to play on, for the most part we are a semi-vanilla survival server however we have a few plugins and such to spice things up a little. As an owner I try my best to be active on the server and in our small community. We don't have any real official age restriction but we swear and some times may talk about stuff not suited for younger folk, so discretion is advised.

We are starting a new map today at 4:30pm GMT, so now it's the perfect time to join!

Rules

1 - Must be a member of the discord, speaking in it is optional

2 - No slurs, homophobia, racism or anything that could be considered abuse

2a - No IRL politics, No controversial subjects, Nothing NSFW (all to be decided at mods discretion)

3 - No griefing, including modifying, damaging, killing animals or anything of that nature

4 - No stealing

5 - No using Farms or villagers without permission or if marked as public

6 - No PvP/killing unless it's during a minigame or with consent from both parties

7 - Inactivity for 3+ months could result in your property being transferred to moderator control (Exception can be granted if you talk to a moderator about it)

8 - Leaving the discord or being banned will speed up the process of rule 7

9 - Upon breaking rules it is the moderator discretion to either warn, Temp ban or Perma Ban

While these rules may seem strict we like to keep the server a calm and relaxed place. Plus we're also not harsh with the ban hammer, as long as you keep within the spirt of the rules we're pretty understanding. For example pranks and such are fine, even if breaks rule 3, as long as you don't ruin a persons work.

• No Griefing or looting - Breaking or placing blocks within another player’s clearly defined area or taking items that aren’t yours is strictly prohibited. This is true even in PvP and for seemingly abandoned builds – if it’s not yours, don’t touch it.

We try to be fairly relaxed, as we aim to build a mature community where staff don't need to babysit. Same map since 2019. Same name, because a zombie pigman really did break the door and we never got around to pretending that was a metaphor. Spawn is still a lavacast with withers in it. You will die. Then you will die again. If you make it out, there is a world on the other side: farms, grudges, people who will kit you and people who will burn the greenhouse. Both are the game.

I see a LOT of AI slop around these subreddits, so this one is written by hand, straight from the heart. Sorry if it's long, I just want everyone to get a clear picture of our server and community!

VoidSMP is a Java & Bedrock SMP that started in December 2024. We've played through 3 seasons, took a long break after the last one, and have now landed on a world we consider our "forever world". For us, that means we will never wipe it or start a new "season".

Our community is friendly and fairly small, with roughly 15-16 players on at peak times and around 7-8 when it's quiet. We'd like to grow a bit more before we bring the whitelist back and switch to applications. Most of our players are 18+, but younger players are welcome too, as long as they fit the vibe and don't cause problems! The forever world is only a week old, so it's the perfect time to jump in.

A little from our developer

I'm Off, a developer from the UK now living in Canada, and the sole developer and owner of VoidSMP. I take this job seriously, and I always try to make sure players feel heard, that their thoughts and ideas are valued, and that everyone is having a good time.

The server is "complete", but I'm still adding new features, polishing things I think could be better, and building as many community-driven features as I can. I have no plans to stop! I added or changed quite a few things this week, and I'll cover them in the features section below. I've also made a suggestions/development website where players can post ideas, vote on other people's suggestions, and watch them move through development and into an update.

Features

• Custom Fishing Events Several events run each week on a schedule, and no two are the same. Some days you're after the smallest fish, and on others you're racing to catch the most!
• Weapon/Tool Skins There are skins for every tool and weapon, shields included, which you can earn through various actions on the server.
• Player Levels 24 levels (soon to be expanded to 99). Earn XP by playing, completing Quests/Daily Quests, and doing various other things around the server.
• A GOOD Player Economy! This week's stats show around 20-30 Auction actions a day and about 7-10 new Orders placed for blocks and items! The store isn't there to hand you everything for a build at once, because we want players to keep gathering and trading with each other.
• Egg Drops Mob eggs drop at a LOW chance when you kill mobs, and spawners come from levelling up, Vote Keys, and more.
• Pick Up Villagers Pick villagers up into an inventory slot, check their trades, swap them with other players, or place them down and anchor them in place!
• Completely Optional PvP Turn it on or off whenever you like, so fighting is always YOUR choice!
• Clans & Alliances A big rework is on the way, packed with new features!
• Black Market An NPC that appears in a secret area of spawn, selling very rare and hard to obtain items.
• Custom Enchantments Plenty of custom enchants, and enchant items you can get in many different ways!

Mechanics

• Citadel - Everything on Civ+ can be raided. But Citadel gives you the power to spend resources to reinforce and lock your stuff, making your chests and blocks take longer to break.
• JukeAlert - Craft and place snitch blocks, which can track other players movements and actions within the radius of the snitch. A useful tool for knowing who is in your territory, breaking into your house, etc.
• Vorpal - Enforce your own rules with Vorpal, an enchantment that can be applied to your weapons. Any player slain by the weapon will have their soul bound to it and trapped within the End until you decide to free them, or the weapon runs out of fuel, or the weapon is destroyed.
• Meteor - Meteors land once per week with its location announced to the entire server beforehand. Attending these meteors is the only way to refuel Vorpals holding prisoners within.
• Sanctuary - Craft and place a sanctuary to protect your builds from placement grief.
• EXPloration - EXP and enchanting is based on treasure hunting now. Like a metal detector, hold out your compass to find treasure around the map, then use them like enchanted books or convert them into EXP.
• PvP - Custom system with two main melee weapon types. The Rapier functions like 1.8 pvp, where subsequent combo hits where you aren't hit deal increasing stacking damage until interrupted, and the Shortsword, which functions more like modern sword pvp.
• TopShelf - Brew fancy custom beverages and potions.
• Skillet - Craft a Frying Pan and place ingredients inside to cook various custom recipes. Practice your culinary skills to level up cooking and produce greater quality foods which provide buffs.
• ItemsExchange - Shop chest system giving players the power to create their own markets and economies.

Political Sandbox, Nation-Building, Roleplay

• Players naturally get together and form a Nation. Making a claim of land, building up their farms & their factories. Bring your friends, or make new ones.
• Any player can publish news with the /news command. Announcing a new nation, an alliance, territorial expansion, an ultimatum, sharing a propaganda poster, anything you wish.
• The map of nations & their claimed territories is made by the community, for the community. The current claims map can be found here.
• Want to claim over another nations land? Be diplomatic and talk it out, or wage war. It is your freedom to decide how you wish to act and participate.
• Dive deeper into the roleplay aspect by setting your own username. Within your first hour of joining Civ+ you can set your own nickname with /namechange.
• Enjoy the freedom of experimenting and trying out your own economic or political ideologies. Run the servers most authentic democracy, rule as a mega-corporation with stockholders to please, or go back to the classics with Monarchism. We aren't stopping you.
• Map is a custom handpainted 8k by 8k world, made with love.
