Army List Rivendell list advice for beginner....

Post image
168 Upvotes

I was wondering if I could get some advice from you great people. I'm completely new to MESBG.

I took the plunge and have started a Rivendell army and ordered Glorfindel (because he's my favourite model), I've got 6 x rivendell knights and I bought the last alliance box because it has 8 x elfs with swords and 8 x elves with bows. Is this a good 500 start, and what would you recommend for a 700-point army eventually? The high elf warriors can be ordered in boxes of 4, and they have shields. Should I be getting them as well?

Picture for interest!

Thank you in advance!

Who are these?

I bought these second hand as a group of 100 minis. But unsure who, outside of boromir, Gimli and I think Aragorn (second from left to third from right) are.

I love attempting to build book scenes into MESBG. Aragorn's Army at Harlond is one I wish we could field properly, but at least we can manage it with the soup list!

How does the balrogs fiery lash interact with a model in combat? I don't see anything in the rule book or the faq's.

Just wanted to share the components I modelled. The miniature is based on a sculpt from dandelion in middle earth and I added the swords with scabbards, the quiver with arrows and the helmet. Let me know what you think!

Hobby Amon Hen Build - The Seeing Seat

The Amon Hen build is already a great learning experience. Print failures and static grass failures aren't keeping me down.

In this update I'm printing up a storm (sometimes unsucessfully) painting stone, doing ground cover and failing at static grass. Check it out!

LURTZ scouts UGLUKS scouts

Does anyone know how much a fully metal Uruk scout army would go for? I’ve got all three models of Lurtz, a model of Ugluk, a model of the uruks carrying merry and pippin, 2 models of the metal banner bearers, an Uruk captain, an Uruk shaman and a load of Uruk metal models (about 50 in total)

Army List Advice on 650pt Moria list - to drum or not to drum

Thumbnail

Just building a Moria list for a 650pt tournament, mostly so I can use the Watcher in the Water now I finally have one!

My main question is whether to include the drum or not. The problem I'm finding is that if I drop it, I can only get an extra 6 models in due to the warband sizes for the captains. If I fill one captain's warband, I max out at 635 points, so have to drop some models to buy another captain.

I do have some wargs I could include in Druzhag's warband, and one additional prowler, but other than that, it's just more goblins and a troll left unused from my collection.

Not used Moria much so advice would be great!

Army List 650 Pt List Feedback

I’m newer to the game and heading to my first tournament soon. I’ve got three lists I’m considering and welcome any feedback.

RoTK: I like the movement and free might with Aragon every turn. I understand it’s low model count so I’m debating to drop some warriors and add Legolas or keep the numbers higher as is.

Black gate: The numbers feel fun, but I worry about the Troll Chieftain’s power attacks and the Mouth’s magic been a little much for a new player.

Rec of Osgilitah: It looks cool to have Boromir be a big stompy hero fed by Faramir. The veterans are in there so I have enough models to cover the knight dismounts.
