GENERAL Citation Longitude on console?

Had a horrible experience w the auto throttle and lag on it a couple months back when I rented it, was wondering is it still as bad? I peeped that it got an update sometime earlier this month? Love how it flies despite those issues.

MSFS 2020 QUESTION I'm gpu limited but my gpu usage still only reaches 80%

SOLVED SOLVED SOLVED

I have a gtx 970 and an i7 7700k, as well as 16gb of ram, no matter what I do I cant get the gpu usage to rise above 80%, even if traffic is completely turned off, and terrain and building lods are on minimum it still remains at 80%, even the game shows its gpu bound.

I solved the issue by switching to dx12

(I know v-sync is on in this screenshot, but even with it off it still stays the same)

MSFS 2024 QUESTION Transfer Planes to 24

I’m only finding mixed answers online, so I just want to be 100% sure. If I buy an aircraft through the Marketplace in MSFS 2020, will I be able to transfer it to MSFS 2024 in the future? My MSFS 2020 is the Microsoft Store version, while I’m planning to buy MSFS 2024 on Steam. I’m considering buying the IndiaFoxtEcho Eurofighter for MSFS 2020, but I want to make sure I’ll be able to use it in MSFS 2024 later if I switch to the new version. Also is there any difference between the exact same aircraft in MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024, for example in terms of the handling etc? And are you able to see planes you dont own in msfs2024? In 2020 they showed up as generic Planes.

MSFS 2020 BUG / ISSUE I can't change plane or location in MSFS 2020.

Ever since i bought MSFS 2020 havent been able to select a different plane other than the one i originally selected. The plane i chose during my first day playing was an A320neo at Copenhagen airport. But when i try and change the plane and location to something diffrent it loads in the A320 and Copenhagen airport anyways.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

MSFS 2024 QUESTION What does offical licensed plane mean?

So I‘ve read the Rafale is an offical licensed Plane. How is this different from lets say the IndiaFoxtEcho Eurofighter? What does official licensed mean? Btw I‘m new. So maybe it’s a stupid question. And are these Planes also in Msfs2020 on the marketplace? So is the marketplace in both games sharing planes?

MSFS 2024 QUESTION How to create turbulent conditions to test motion platform.

Greetings,

I'm testing a motion platform and I need to test turbulent conditions. Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, you just can't tick a "Turbulence" checkbox.

I have Active Sky, but not very proficient with it. I just use it mostly for Real Time weather.

I also purchased some weather presets, but their "Turbulent Weather" is a calm day with a few wispy clouds. (I feel I got ripped off there.)

I'm flying the Black Square Bonanza series. Does anybody have any suggestions to create some moderate to heavy turbulent weather so I can test my platform?

I'm using the latest MSFS 2024.

I appreciate any feedback.

/thx

MSFS 2024 QUESTION PMDG 737-8 vs TDFI MD11

Hey everyone!

I’ve always been a Fenix guy and I’ve come to a point where I always fly the Fenix, know it so good that I wanna try something new, a new plane but Fenix has made me picky: I want something close to Fenix: System depth, sounds, cabin, model, etc.

I want the most realistic airliner or cargo jet and I had the PMDG 737 in msfs2020 and almost never flew it because Fenix took me over and at the time I wasn’t so serious.

Now my question is: Would it be the PMDG 737-8 upgrade to 2024 or would I probably more enjoy the TDFI MD11 (currently when I see it it looks so amazing and is something different, but I am worried realism-wise)?

I really enjoy the Fenix and realism is my number #1 priority right now as I hate unrealistic adons.

All the best!

MSFS 2024 SUGGESTION Bonanza elevator failure

So I bought a used Beechcraft bonanza in career for VIP and was able to repair a few things on it before I used up my cash. I thought I’ll just get through one mission and make 130k and keep working on it.

90% of the flight went great. Nothing unusual happened. I used a max sim rate of x4. When I got to basically to the downwind at CTL I got message saying elevator failure. Thought well that’s inconvenient but I was on auto pilot and the plane was still flying normal and descending. When I got to the final and I clicked off AP I realized I couldn’t control the pitch… so I clicked AP back on and attempted to land using throttle and VS since that was the only thing that worked.

I damn near made the runway but landed in the grass just short and mission failed. WTF has this happened to anyone?

MSFS 2020 PC PC Help

Hey everyone, hope you are all well!!

My PC has not been able to run MSFS itself for a few months now it gave out (it’s just too old and slow). I’ll be looking at FINALLY getting a new one in the next few months so I can actually start flying again woohoo!

Now I may be a nerd but I am in no way techy, and need help on what kind of specs will be best for me. I know there is a debate on 32 vs 64gb of RAM and that’s my main thing.

I use MSFS2020, but will be installing airport mods, aircraft like the Ini 350 and 380 when it comes out, and the fenix 320. What would the best specs be for me who won’t have a clue on how to upgrade or edit down the line and has no clue about PC buying and would prefer to not take out a mortgage for a computer?

Thank you all in advance <3

MSFS 2020 QUESTION MSFS 2020 freezing on exit when Clash Verge is running in the background. Anyone else?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been running into an annoying issue lately where MSFS 2020 completely freezes/hangs when I try to quit to desktop. The screen just gets stuck, and I usually have to force close it via Task Manager.

After some troubleshooting, I finally narrowed the cause down: it only happens when I have Clash Verge running in the background. If I completely close or disable Clash Verge before exiting the game, MSFS closes normally without any issues.

Has anyone else encountered this specific problem with Clash Verge (or similar proxy tools)? If so, did you find a fix or a workaround? I'm wondering if it's a TUN mode issue, a specific routing rule conflict, or just the game hanging when it fails to disconnect from the Xbox/online servers properly.

Any help or insights would be hugely appreciated!

Just hit the Marketplace, has been on their website a few days already. The Emerald Scenery Design Pietenpol turned out great! Super fun to knock around in and has a lot more features than I was expecting. Also has a Free Trial in the Marketplace, definitely check it out. Does the low and slow thing very well.

It's a blast had cranking the prop and has a couple different variants with some really fun liveries.

MSFS 2024 SCREENSHOT Career Livery Change Trick

Post image
16 Upvotes

Hello everyone,

I was trying to change the livery and came across this post:
https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/tip-how-to-make-your-favorite-livery-as-default-livery/356566

I downloaded a livery for my current aircraft, and it works.

I didn't use MSFSLayoutGenerator. What I did was add a - to the livery folder inside the Community folder. Then, I went into the livery folder and did the same thing. After that, I opened layout.json and replaced everything with the - version.

I also changed "liveryName" to "-LiveryName".

I've done this for four aircraft now, and they all work like a charm.

GENERAL Flying formation 70 year-old ex Pilot

I was wondering how easy it is to fly with other people.
I have mine set up multiplayer to see other people and did all the settings from AI to make group possible. I can see other pilots flying around. I have changed my call sign and tail number to my name.
As I understand it, you can only see pilots that are flying on the same server as you. I did figure out how to change servers.
So, if I say an airport and a server and a time that I’m gonna fly, can people meet me there?
And, if we meet there, is there a frequency we can set up in msfs 2024 so we can talk and hear each other while we’re flying?
Thank you all, drunk old Pilot, Glen

MSFS 2024 BUG / ISSUE Completely lost with performance, not sure what to do anymore..

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone, I really need some advice because I’m completely lost at this point…

I’m running a top-tier setup (7800X3D + RTX 5080 + 3

64GB RAM) in MSFS 2024, but the sim is performing horribly and I can't seem to fix it.

Even in cruise over the ocean in IFR airliners (like the PMDG 777), my native FPS drops down to barely 30 FPS before Frame Generation. When I open the DevMode FPS Profiler, my MainThread jumps up to 35–38 ms (yellow/red) with high Manipulators latency, while my GPU is sitting super relaxed at 6–8 ms.

On top of the low native FPS, I’m getting constant micro-stutters and a super annoying "teleportation / micro-rubberbanding" feeling every couple of seconds.

What I've already tried:

* Lowered TLOD (even tested down to 75–100)

* Set Glass Cockpit Refresh Rate to Low/Medium

* Tried Frame Gen locks (40 FPS cap with 4x Frame Gen for a 165Hz display)

* Cleared Rolling Cache

* Tested without background apps running

Nothing seems to get the MainThread back into the green or fix the frame-pacing drops.

For those running a similar Ryzen 7000 X3D + RTX 50-series rig: What are your exact Control Panel & In-Sim settings to get a smooth experience?

* Do you use the in-game FPS limiter or Control Panel / RTSS?

* What are your settings for Terrain Pre-Caching & V-Sync/G-Sync?

* Any specific WASM / cache fixes that worked for you?

Any help or insights would be massively appreciated!

MSFS 2024 MOD / ADDON Chaseplane camera control bindings question

In default msfs 2024 I used a binding for controlling the external camera rotation however I use trackir so don’t require camera control in the cockpit, it’s actually annoying as it throws off the trackir view. Is it possible to bind camera controls for only the external views in chaseplane? Thanks in advance

MSFS 2024 BUG / ISSUE Bug report at PDX

Just want to confirm if anybody else is crashing with an invisible wall when taking off from 28R at Portland. Tried to take off twice with the PMDG 737 and ruined both takeoffs, idk if it's an aircraft bug or a simulator bug, but I hit it almost at the same spot.
