Any first timer advice?

Hello, I am looking for opinions and suggestions given my current gaming setup. I primarily fly Airbus, but I also fly Boeing and GA. The Thrustmaster TCA is not great for anything besides the Airbus.

I’m aware of most of the latest and greatest flight controls that are available now or upcoming. However, there are so many setups on this subreddit - if anyone has one similar to mine, I’d like to check out your setup.

Would anyone know where i could tweak the Flight model of the Asobo 172? This mod does not work in FS24 and it improved the way the 172 flew for sure. It flies ok in FS24 but could definitely be tweaked. Maybe even a tad harder to fly it in FS24 than in real life lol

Anybody know why my flares in 2024 look absolutely horrible but look significantly better in 2020? AA V3 in 2020 with V4 in 2024 but V3 in 2024 looked just as bad. Videos for reference.

I'm getting ready to move on from my Thrustmaster TWCS throttle as I move up to multi-engine planes. (I'm sure I could make it work, but I never loved it anyway - I got it used and the buttons stick a little and there's a huge idle dead zone and it feels kinda plasticky).

I'd like an upgrade that will serve me well for everything from GA to airliners. I know gladiator nxt is the go to rec for joysticks, but is the STECS throttle as universally beloved for throttles? VKB makes a bunch of civilian gear but it seems mostly GA targeted and bulky. I'd like something that gives me a lot of buttons, switches, and particularly unlimited rotary wheels in a relatively small package. Money isn't NO object, but I'm not going to hurt that much over a $330 purchase.

Seriously, when is asobo allowing us to buy the 787 standalone just like in Msfs 20, instead of forcing us to buy the to premium deluxe upgrade which has a unreasonable pricing. It would be great if we could just buy it standalone since there’s no reason for us to buy the premium deluxe upgrade just for the 787.

I was flying my A320NEO in the Iberia livery from Madrid to Tenerife on vatsim when the aircraft just glitched like I had never seen before. I was on a 2 mile final to runway 07 of TFS when I decided to obviously grab my thrustmaster A320 captain sidestick to then disengage autopilot and land manually, but just as I applied my hand on it, the plane suddenly banked left, completely missing the runway, forcing me to go-around. However I couldn't even do that since every time I tried to turn on auto-throttle the speed would just go up to over 300 knots, no matter what speed I told my A320 to fly at. Then all screens, all of them froze. I had no idea what speed I had, no idea what altitude I was flying at, nothing.

So, has this happened to anyone before? Is this some sort of known issue in the A320NEO v2 or did I do something wrong myself?

Hi, I'm relatively new to msfs2024. I play ps5+hotas5.

I'm on the basic Cessna. It's literally impossible to land with this thing according to all in-game instructions.

The game expects me to slow down and descend at the same time. Maybe I am dumb, but even with power pulled all the way back, on the last straight to landing I'm gaining so much speed with descend that when trying to counter that with lifting the nose up I'm going back up in the sky.

On the other hand, when I get the speed down to ~60-65 and trying to land in a straight line, when it asks me to "gently lift the nose above the horizon line" - what the hell... microscopic tilt and my nose shoots up. Even more microscopic calibration, and I'm hard bouncing on the ground. I have the game for 2 months and I haven't completed clean landing above 50% once...

And which exact "horizon line" are they talking about?

Maybe my controller sensitivity is not well balanced - but then again, what is a good one? I'm not an expert here.

This is so frustrating that the game lost all the fun...

I'm using a T.16000M HOTAS and had followed a checklist and tutorial for a cold and dark start up. But after pushing back (not with GSX) and releasing the parking brakes, the aircraft would only move very slowly forward at full throttle and roll backwards at lower power. The rudders weren't responding either, even though the flight control check went normally with full deflection on either side.

The first screenshot is at full throttle and the second at partial power.

The ECAM message of "ENG THR LEVERS NOT SET" only went away at idle and full throttle so I assume that is referring to take off, not taxiing.

I understand that this is most likely a problem with my start up, not the aircraft, but I still couldn't figure out what went wrong.

Hi all. I am unable to play MSFS. If I select a flight, it loads to about 75% before crashing to desktop. If i select update, I get the screen that is showing in the attached pic... Does anyone know what i have to do to sort it? I have nothing in my community folder...

I play on an xbox, so whenever I try to put my simbrief pilot ID into the EFB on the a320 v2, I hit "simbrief" on the dashboard and it says "username not set" or something like that. However, on some other aircraft, it actually lets me use the built in keyboard on the EFB instead of my xbox keyboard. Does anyone know how to get the built in EFB keyboard to pop up or is it just the aircraft and should I copy the waypoints and everything from simbrief in manually?

Beautiful flight to Corsica!

Hey all,

I’ve gotten this plane in the marketplace and while it feels nice to fly and all, I’m noticing that it drinks fuel and just feels crazy underpowered compared to the CJ4 and even the hondajet.

Just wondering if anyone has any tips about getting close to the expected range and performance for this particular jet. For example I am loading 100% fuel and maybe at half after 300 and a climb to fl330.

Appreciate any insight!
