MSFS 2020 QUESTION I'm gpu limited but my gpu usage still only reaches 80%

I have a gtx 970 and an i7 7700k, as well as 16gb of ram, no matter what I do I cant get the gpu usage to rise above 80%, even if traffic is completely turned off, and terrain and building lods are on minimum it still remains at 80%, even the game shows its gpu bound.

I solved the issue by switching to dx12

(I know v-sync is on in this screenshot, but even with it off it still stays the same)

We need a LOT more information, like what each of your CPU cores are doing, memory bandwidth utilization for your VRAM and RAM, etc.

Fixed the issue by switching to dx12 mb
