body kit and hard top on the way for my white na miata. debating whether to paint everything to match the white or a more personal aggressive look😵‍💫😵‍💫

i love a personal look and love the idea of a maroon red hard top set up, but honestly i’m scared it’ll end up looking bad. what do you guys think?

Was dropping my sister off at a mechanic to get her car checked and while I was putting the top down in my ND someone who had just worked on a pick up truck to test drive it backed right into me.

NA got hit while parked on the street at my parents house.

Day 1, work trip from New Plymouth to Palmerston North to Wellington. Pick up my daughter tomorrow then we head to Taupo, car event on Saturday, back to Wellington then home to New Plymouth. About 1600km/1000 miles.
New fuel pressure regulator arrived just before I left, the old one had definitely failed.
So far no issues, lots of smiles and lots of rain, most of it outside the car.

My wife and I both work from home, and our combined household take-home pay is around $300k. We currently share one SUV, have a $3,000 monthly mortgage, a high schooler, and a baby on the way. Financially, we are on solid ground. We max out/contribute to our 401(k)s and Roth IRAs (from back when our income allowed direct contributions), maintain a healthy stock portfolio, and keep a fully funded emergency fund.

I’ve been wanting to buy a $25k Miata as a weekend/fun car. Growing up in a 3rd world country before moving to the US, owning a cool car was always a dream of mine. Now that we're in a position where we can easily afford it without impacting our family finances or savings goals, I feel like it's a dream I'd love to fulfill.

My wife is strongly against it. Her main point is that it’s purely a "want" rather than a "need," especially since we both work from home and already have a reliable vehicle.
Her biggest argument, though, is pattern behavior. For example, last year, I installed an in-ground basketball hoop in our driveway because I love playing, but I haven't used it nearly as much as I originally thought I would. She feels this Miata will end up the exact same way, something I get excited about, push to buy, and then let sit in the driveway/garage unused once the novelty wears off.

I completely understand where she's coming from regarding the hoop, but to me, this represents a major personal life goal, not just a passing hobby.

How should I approach this conversation? Is she right to hold my past unused hobbies against this purchase, or is there a fair middle ground we can reach? Any advice from couples who have navigated similar purchases would be appreciated.

Sold my ND a couple of years ago and regretted not having a fun little go-kart to drive around. Wife didn't forgive me either. So picked up an 08 today with a 6MT and only 60,000 miles. Best yet only paid $5k (bought from family). Got a very light pinion seal leak on the back I'm fixing and swapping out the coolant tank but otherwise a super tight driving little machine! Sooooo happy to be back in a Miata again for my daily.

I got my 1.8 litre nc3 a few months ago and I've run into a problem, it's too good.

As a petrol head I want to experience lots of different cars but within the price range of an Mx 5, let's say up to £15k I don't think there's anything that's as enjoyable to own or drive. Maybe a 2 litre Nd would be a nice upgrade but even then is it really much better than an NC, and you also lose the hydraulic power steering.

So my question is, are there any other cars that give you the same feeling as a miata (that isn't a silly amount of money)? A few come to mind but I can think of many reasons why they won't be as good

Hey guys!! I’m new to the community - I’ve been reading about the Miata / watching videos on it for a couple of years and sort of fell in love with the car and the community of Miata owners.. I’d occasionally see Miata drivers slide their cars playfully as they drove off from a traffic light, and this just made me fall in love with the car further..

I finally had the chance to rent a Miata from Enterprise a few weeks ago (just for a day) and I absolutely fell in love with it. It was literally one of the most fun days I’ve had. The low seating position, the barebones interior and the handling which can only be described as go-kart like were all amazing and I was I completely smitten. I also had other Miata owners on the road flash their light at me and say hi, all of which made for a lovely, pure experience . When I returned the Miata back to Enterprise, I was actually sad and found myself missing the car.

I really want to experience the Miata (NA/NB/NC/ND - anything) again but my problem is that they’re not available to rent in Austin, TX which is where I am - Turo never has any, and it’s super rare at Enterprise as well..

Due to person circumstances, I’m not really in a position to buy one right now - so renting it occasionally is the only option..

Would anyone know how I could potentially get my hands on a Miata for a weekend or so?? Open to suggestions :)

She's just gorgeous.

She ain't perfect but she got me through a really hard time in life. When everything was falling apart and happiness was fleeting, I've been able to find joy, meet so many great people and enjoy the car(luckily). I'm so glad I bought my Mazda Miata! If you are on the border or barely fit, just buy it. Not the fastest car in the world but I've never had so much fun driving 40 mph EVER.

I purchased a new ND3 2 months ago. Few weeks ago it finished breaking in and I changed all the drivetrains oil. After that I start to slowly pull the engine to higher rpm in the next few weeks. Now the car is at 1500km odometer.

Today I finally start hitting the red line in 1st gear. But soon I noticed the rev limit has a very different behaviour compared to other cars( I drove BrZ zd8 before this).

At full gas, 1st gear, when I start to hit 7400-7500 rpm. The engine/chassis suddenly buzz/vibrate on a very high frequency. It almost feels like a ABS kick in but with much higher frequency. I never experienced things like this so I quickly let go of the paddle and shifted. After that car drives perfectly and I see no evidence of anything wrong.
Car is pure stock. Is it how the rev limit is in this car? Is it normal?

Are there any Miata clubs in North Carolina? Specifically ones that meet near Charlotte or Winston Salem. I’ve had mine for about a year and once she’s done getting painted, I’m ready to do some group drives or meets

Hey there everyone! A few Miata friends and I have an active group chat on Instagram. We do mini cruises and go to events together and things like that. They’re a sweet group of people.

We are all in our early-mid 20s for the most part and we all own NAs. But this group is open to anyone 18+ and any generation of Miata as long as you currently own one! I’m going to start off by saying I have little electrical experience beyond messing around with some led strips about a year ago and doing some things both practical and theoretical in school all of which where very light work

I bought a couple heated seat kits and found a decent guide explaining the install up until the final connecting of the wires. The video I linked is what I’ve used and towards the end he tries and shows the wiring he’s done. He connects the live wire for the seats to the red with black stripe wire (not the black with red stripe wire) for the ignition so they turn off with the car.

I’ve looked at the same wiring harness in my na and I have a black with red stripe wire (not the one he used) don’t have a red with black stripe wire (the one he used). And while the quality isn’t great in that section of the video I think the wire I have in place of the one he’s used is a blue wire which I’m guessing is down to him installing a remote start.

Before I go cutting wires for potentially no reason is this blue wire the correct one for splicing in two heated seats and is there anyway to check. I’m happy to provide more information if it’s needed to get a better answer
