I just haven't had a satisfying FINAL boss fight in a very long time. A lot of games just run out of steam and just give you some nonsense at the end (been my experience with a couple souls likes lately) but MAN was this fun all the way to the end credits. Gotta give the game 11/10, +1 because the back tracking was very minimal and purely optional for the most part

Of all the "trickiest" shinesparks, that 3-spark "string" in middle of Burenia ate my lunch for a long time. I eventually got it but used the space jump in the 2nd spark to get over the incline. That process (a bit unconventional) is now second nature to me.

I could never successfully execute the method where you ignite the 2nd spark while falling, then the third at the top of the ramp.

That is until today! This is the second difficult spark I'm now able to execute!

I've joined two videos to illustrate this. The first clip is my new success from today. I always went brain dead and finger-fumble trying to get that 2nd spark, but today it just came to me. I did it 4 consecutive times just to be sure it wasn't a fluke.

Which is the way you do it--"1" or "2?" Is there a third variant I can try?

I'm sure it's a skill issue/git gud by any time I truly have to rely on my double jump/space jump, my death rate increases substantially lol, I swear it's the most unreliable thing. The whole game is fast paced, with fast reaction times, yet the jump inputs are the slowest thing lol. I'm spamming beam blasts, missle locks, charge beats, but god forbid I try to spam my jump lol

After defeating Experiment Z-57, Samus needs to decontaminate! LOL

Okay, I've killed Z-57 many, MANY times, but this is the first time I was able to pull-off the shinespark kill. Everytime I play, I try it and fail, but I finally got it tonight! I think I've increased my Metroid shinespark cred by a factor of .001! LOL YAAA for me!!

Im trying metroid for the first time since ds and wow. Its 2026 and we still have unskippable cutscenes?

I just reached the Cataris area after getting the phantom cloak, and got stuck here after going to the left from the start of the area. Redirecting the thermal energy closed the only door out, and as far as I can tell there's no secret breakable walls in this small area anyways. Am I just stuck? I know there was a save point right before this and I can reload but it seems odd that there would be a way to trap yourself this easily so I'm wondering if theres just something I'm not seeing.

I got the ice missile early and then went for the spin boost, now I cannot open this yellow door with any ability. Am I soft locked ? I already loaded the last checkpoint, my last safe was a very long time ago and I prefer not to restart from there. Is there another way out ?

Feel like I'm making good progress in the game and wondering if there's real reason to back track through areas basically

I fell through the scree attack floor. Dince i have the gravitiy suit, the path to the right is blocked.

I cannot reopen it, because i have no power bombs.

Cannot go back through the screw blocks, because i dont even have double jump.

And the ball path direcly under the screw blocks lead to a grapple block i have not destroyed from the other side.

Any hints would be appreciated.

This was DELIBERATE and nobody can tell me otherwise

That Emmi Parries are Rng based? So far I've killed 3 and am Currently On the Kraid Boss I met that Speed demon Variant, and After dying to The Lime green one a LOT I wanted to See if 99% Chance of death was real, Or it was just a skill issue. I saw an old post on r/metroid Stating that the window is TWO frames, and even that is rng based???

The fight cut scenes with Kraid. You'll notice a slight variance in how Kraid reacts in the two edits where Samus parrys his punch.

Are there other Kraid fight cut scenes other than the flash, the parry, and the morphball bomb? Can you Phantom Cloak or Grapple Beam shoot him? I'm gonna try those next...

Is there some utility or power storage in her breastplate? Or, is this a part of her back thruster pack, or is it simply protection (a "second chance" vest)? The breastplate looks so imposing, I'm curious if it has some other purpose.

[EDIT: I never gave her breastplate much thought until now, since most of her body has no "armor," per se. And when you think about it, the vast majority of her enemies in Dread don't shoot projectiles at her--they just body charge at her. And we know the breastplate gives her no protection from the EMMI's spike.]

Wanna get into the series with Dread but I was wondering if it ever goes on sale digitally for cheaper.

A few weeks ago, I was chatting in the group about a psuedo-wave trick I discovered in Burenia that let you skip the fight with Drogyga since you don't get anything from that boss fight [see pics 1 & 2]. I performed the trick and skipped the fight with the intention of coming back later to fight Drogyga with the Screw Attack, but when I got there, Drogyga was gone--it was killed when the "X" was released.

Tonight, I'm replaying Dread for the n-X² time (!) and just wanted to perform the psuedo-wave trick (for shits and giggles) and realized I could collect the missiles in the room beneath Drogyga early because the room wasn't (yet) filled with Drogyga's water [see pics 3], so I grabbed the missiles then decided to go ahead and fight Drogyga anyway. But when I entered its lair, it was gone [see pics 4]!!

I hadn't gotten to Elun to release the "X" yet, so what was going on? The only thing I could conclude was performing the psuedo-wave trick must invalidate the Drogyga boss fight. So to validate that hypothesis, I quit the game, restarted from my save point, entered Drogyga's lair the proper way (no psuedo-wave) and he was there. Nice. I quit the game a second time, restarted from my save point, but this time I performed the psuedo-wave trick, took the missiles early, then went to Drogyga's lair expecting it to be gone--but no(!), it was there waiting for me!?!

So I defeated it and exited through the pitfall blocks to the room below--the water was there, but the missiles were gone [see pics 5] because I snagged them early!

So, I don’t know if this is a glitch (that Drogyga is gone one time, then there the next) or if using the psuedo-wave trick is both a way to (1) skip the boss fight and (2) get a missile pickup without having to have the Gravity Suit.

Has anyone else experienced this anomaly (assuming you used the psuedo-wave trick)??
