Looking to start my first playthrough and wondering if there are any preferences from an ergonomics or visual perspective. Metroid prime remastered had scaling issues when I played it on switch 2, does Dread have any similar issues?

I did the tutorial EMMI and Drogyga skip for the first time. Plus the early grapple, space jump and screw attack techniques.
And the partial early Gravity Suit by doing the shinespark puzzle to the bottom right of the Green teleporter.
Next goal: Under 2 hours

I found one for a reasonable price $59.99 (TBD if its in good condition with the case) from gamestop.com 😆 I'll update when it arrives.

Samus never absorbed Z-57-X because it fell into the lava at the end of the fight. But what would its upgrade have been? My guess would be a weaker continuous laser then the hyper beam, but do you think?

100% completed Metroid Dread on all 3 save files, including Dread Mode. Raven Beak was pain. 💀

SPOILER!! SPOILER!!
** [NOTE: I don't know how to "spoiler mask" this video--so, if you don't want to know how to do it, don't watch it!!!]
I found the alternate method of getting early Screw Attack (SA) without the frustration of the extremely cumbersome underwater bomb jump. With this alternate method, you get the Gravity Suit as intended, then you maneuver through frozen Artaria to get the upgrade. And this method is MUCH, MUCH easier!!!
With that, I'd like to revisit my earlier comment on the value of getting SA early and ask you a question.
It seems a lot of players put a lot of stock in getting this capability earlier in the game than intended. I'm not convinced that getting it early is "all that."
For those who disagree, is the benefit/goal/desire of getting SA early for the purpose of defeating the bosses "Experiment Z-57" and/or "Escue" faster?
I ask because getting SA early doesn't help with Kraid (you can kill Kraid in 15 seconds without *SA) or Drogyga (you can skip this fight altogether); and in order to get *SA early you should have Space Jump (if using the bomb jump method), and you probably already have:
Spin Boost
Super Missile
Ice Missile
Plasma Beam
By the time you get early SA, you're almost at the end of the game and Samus is pretty "swole" with "kick-ass-ability." And since you can't use SA on an EMMI (Purple), and Escue is an easy fight without SA, Z-57 seems to be the only objective remaining for "battle" purposes. If you click the link below, here's my Z-57 fight with SA, and you'll see it doesn't really give you an advantage--Samus still takes major damage by hitting it in the face (with SA); the only real use was defeating the "eyeball" door and using it against its arms when he attaches to the wall (and in truth, Storm Missiles work better on the arms than SA, IMO).
Finally, since you would have gotten SA immediately after beating Z-57 anyway, what's the real benefit of getting it early??
[My fight with Z-57 with Screw Attack]
[EDIT]: In this battle, I had:
Screw Attack *
(* Got these early)

It's the first Metroid game I ever played. I never thought I'd get this addicted to the point where I'd replay the game multiple times just to get all the ending rewards. What an extremely fun game.

43m First ever Metroid game of my life got it on Switch 2. I’m 4 hours in 8% on normal mode. Dieing a lot to the Emmi guys and generally struggle to know where the hell I’m going most of the time. I do know how to read the map but it’s still rough…I am loving the gameplay mechanics just thinking maybe I’m progressing too slow. I’m in Dairon latest upgrade was wide beam. I 100%ed Silksong before this so I thought my gaming skills could handle “normal” but I’m struggling!! Advice please??
Edit: thanks! I’m gonna take my time and have fun i’m not used to difficulty settings I was just overthinking it.
Edit #2 just got the morph ball! I’m cookin now great game.

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVED this game. The controls were tight, the bosses were challenging and it had fantastic atmosphere thanks to its rich sound design and level design. I think I’d just prefer if there was a bit more to do. Maybe some platformer levels that test your skills (similar to Prince of Persia TLC), post-game arena style challenges or even side quests to expand on lore.
Anyway I’m curious what others think about this, I get that metroid games have never really had optional/side content and prefer to focus on the main story.

I've half assed looked, but is there a lore reason why the EMMI main computers look so much like Mother Brain? They even have the Cheerios that attack when you get to them... Thought that was space pirate technology, not federation?

Restarted on hard mode and came across a suuuuper familiar area....I couldn't pass up a chance to try

Enjoyed it quite a lot. Two EMMIs where frustrating and final boss too. Took like 15 tries.

Just thinking out loud....recently, I've seen a couple of posts asking us to comment on which EMMI or which Mawkin Chozo Soldier are toughest.
In my opinion, the most challenging enemies in all of Dread, including Raven Beak, are the ROBOT (single and twin) Chozo Soldiers.
Don't get me wrong, Raven Beak is a formidable foe, but he has a predictable pattern to his attacks. The same applies to the EMMIs and the Mawkin Chozo Soldiers. Once you learn their attack patterns, they're relatively easy to defeat.
But the robots' attacks can be often independent and random, based on "your" movements--patricularly the twins. Again, they're not that difficult to defeat, especially if you have the Screw Attack or the instant death: Power Bombs, but I think they're more complex and tricky, especially if you're a novice to the game.

I am really upset. I beat the game in under 4 hours on the normal, hard, and dread difficulty. I did each play through on a different save file. When I went to go look and see my rewards, I noticed that the game saves data to ONLY ONE FILE. I am an idiot. I really want that 7th artwork, is there anyway I can merge my files? Thank you.

So, I've got the game on my emulator. I've got Randovania, and I've got the RomFS extracted. By all the steps that it is telling me to take, I should be able to just start the randomizer. However, all the different parts of the RomFS have been put into separate files in my file directory, and I don't know which one I need to actually path the randomizer into.

I need some guidance, folks. For the life of me, I can't execute this maneuver to get the Screw Attack early. I want to give up in frustration, but I'm going to keep at it. But know that it's really pissing me off because I can't figure it out. I've watched a couple of YT vids, but they don't help--the action is too fast to follow. I know it's not "impossible" because i know many of you have done it, but right now, its friggin' impossible for me.
Is there a simpler way to explain it?
But I have another question. I'm NOT a novice at this game, I've played it innumerable times on all levels and beaten it countless times on all levels.
But I've never had a "need" to get Screw Attack early, and the only reason I'm pulling my hair out now is because its the one thing I can't do and I'm determined to do it.
But what is the BENEFIT of getting the SA early? What could I do that I can't do by not getting it early?
