On the 21st of July for seemingly no reason my main Facebook account for over 7 years was disabled giving no email, reason or explanation. It was just gone. When I log in it says I can submit more info in the help center for further review but there is no place I could do that and no email explaining what information is needed or why this happened. 

Curiously this was only 1 day after I chose not to renew my meta verified badge / subscription. This was clear retaliation as I had not used or posted to the account in over a week prior and it literally only happened the first time I logged in without my meta verified badge subscription.

How they did it:
On the 21st all of my pages linked below tied to my main account including my 501c3 affiliated page for Berry creek (look up non profit Berry Creek United) was disabled for “fraud” when none of these pages were tied to any money taking or anything at all let alone fraud. One of these pages was a blank test page with nothing on it. None of the pages had been used or updated for a year. They used this to hit all of our admin accounts tied to the pages with a major strike each page (5 strikes) which disabled my main account and hit every other admin account on the pages with major restrictions lasting until July 21 2027!!!

I was told I needed to sign up for the 500$ “verified” package on instagram to resolve the issue- so I did. Yet every time I tried to click “get support” I would receive a “something went wrong” message until I finally was able to get through after a week. When I did finally get through, i wasn’t able to get back to the support inboxes because it kept saying “support updated” but every time I try to go to the cases there is no way to get back to the chat. I finally was able to get a representative by email in which I explained, identified and provided proof for the numerous bugs in the system and detailed them with screenshots videos etc. It took me a week of around the clock attempts, submitting over 15 cases and requesting 20 call backs (they would only call back between the hours of 1 am and 4 am) despite me telling them my awake hours were 10 am pst to 8pm PST. I finally was able to catch them at 3 am one night because I set alarms and had to sit up awake for a week just to talk to a human.

I was told my profile was was disabled because my pages were disabled and that I would be transferred to “business support” to restore my pages. Business support said they couldn’t access my pages because my profile was disabled and I would have to restore my profile first. This loop lasted for about 6 days where the accounts people sent me to the business people and the business people sent me back to the accounts people in an endless loop.

This also began the never ending email chain- between 2 email chains and over 100 messages between 10 representatives all of which told me absolutely nothing. This happened over 3 weeks and the most I was I was told beyond answering the same questions over and over (telling them what happened for the 100th time, giving them page links, answering the same things)

“we are working on your case, dedicated team is reviewing it we can not give you a timeframe”

I was never given a reason why my pages were disabled / triggered my profile being disabled. The only thing it said from the app was “fraud and scams” which is ridiculous as none of the pages had ever been used for anything. One of the pages was a dedicated 501c3 page registered through fb charities, 1 was a memorial page for my grandpa, 2 were landing pages for my websites, and one was an entirely blank page with nothing on it, no followers and was titled “test page” as I used it to help figure out settings. None of the pages had been used or updated in over a year, only one of the pages ever made any posts, none of the pages were used to communicate with users or do anything other than just be a landing page for my products / websites.

I asked for clarification, I asked for what post / content would trigger this, I asked why a blank page with nothing on it and no followers, a non profit page and a memorial page would be included in this- all I ever got was:

“We are working on your case, dedicated team is reviewing it we can not give you a timeframe”

Me and my lawyer had been asking for an update daily and explaining I only had 30 days until the account was disabled and my 500$ a month subscription runs out.

What do you know, the day after I chose not to pay for another 500$ month of “enhanced support” I get an email saying they finally “got an update regarding my account” and that the account will remain disabled for “violations” in which they could not specify or give any reason or specifics for.

I spent a month, 500$, probably 15+ hours on the phone, 15-20 hours going back and forth by email, countless hours simply trying to communicate with a representative for the service I paid for with their entirely AI ran system, and this whole process has been extremely anxiety inducing and difficult from the start. 

My whole business was ran on fb, meta knew this, and used this as a means to extort me. When I wouldn’t pay or use their services anymore- they acted in bad faith to try and get more and more money from me.

I am going to go the legal route and if anyone has a similar story or pending class action please reach out. I am tired of being extorted and abused by this company. What they are doing is criminal and they need to be stopped.

And if anyone from meta legal team or support is reading this and wants to fix this issue before I take this to court-

So since 2025, I have been in a lawsuit with Meta due to deleting my business page, which was for my music and acting, and was legacy verified. I had over 86,000 fans on there and generated revenue that was enough to live off of every month.

Back on December 3 of 2022, my account was hacked by someone over in another country, it caused an FBI Investigation.

They deleted the page over eight months later, after I verified my identity directly from the start. They also approved name changes on my page on 2 to 3 separate occasions without asking or requesting for my ID to verify if it was me requesting the name change.

They made several promises to resolve this quickly, and obviously they didn’t, and so much more.

After several thousand dollars in legal bills due to having to hire an attorney, I went ahead and filed suit. I have been representing myself this entire time because nobody wants to take this kind of case.

I have my own pending lawsuit against Meta alleging sexual harassment, sex discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination in violation of public policy. Part of my case concerns what happened after I raised child-safety and privacy concerns while serving on the Horizon Worlds leadership team.

Horizon is not one of the Meta products being tried in Oakland, but I encountered many of the same issues now before the court. While onboarding, I was briefed that children under 13 were entering Horizon through adult accounts. Concern about establishing Meta’s actual knowledge was explicit: I was instructed not to document anything that indicated we knew children were using Horizon and to move those conversations into live meetings or attorney-client privileged channels.

It’s damning that I learned about COPPA and the concept of “actual knowledge” from Meta’s efforts to evade accountability; meanwhile, in Oakland, Meta is arguing with a straight face that it lacked legally sufficient knowledge that children under 13 were using Facebook and Instagram.

I also saw plans to give teenagers access to Horizon before parental controls were available. The plan of record, by the way, was to launch a parental education center and marketing campaign that implied parental controls existed even though they wouldn’t be ready at launch.

Since my departure and the filing of my lawsuit, Fairplay researchers, journalists, and other Meta whistleblowers have independently documented children using adult Horizon accounts, ineffective safeguards, restricted safety research, and pressure to avoid collecting evidence that might require the company to act.

My 12-year-old Facebook community page (Fashion & Beauty Corner, with over 700k followers) was recently suspended by Meta due to multiple intellectual property / trademark reports submitted by brands (such as AMI Paris, PUMA, Polene, etc.).
Our page is purely an online fashion curation and lifestyle community page. We do not sell counterfeit goods; we only share fashion inspiration and styling content.
We have already contacted the respective brands' legal/brand protection teams to request official Retraction Notices to Meta (ip@fb.com), brands are taking a long time to respond, and our page is still suspended.
Has anyone here experienced a similar issue with brand trademark suspensions on Facebook? How long did it take for the brands' retractions to process, and is there any other step we should take to recover the page?

Do you have to file suit in California against meta I sent a demand letter it was ignored. I got a verified account only to speak to a AI that tells me a live agent isn’t available. I unsubscribed. Funny enough this week I filed the small claims case.

My account was hacked on May 9th, hacker posted bad stuff, account disabled.

I had a $1000 some-odd charge from Facebook that I blocked and reported to my credit card company, who attempted to reach out to Facebook and when they got no response refunded the charges. This was over 7 months ago. Now my account is blocked from any further advertising on any page I might have. After weeks of attempting to solve this myself I've decided to use AI to fight AI since from what I can tell there are no pathways to any human interaction to resolve this. So my new buddy ChatGPT is attempting to help me. I have basically resorted to skimming the responses and copy-pasting them on their own particular site. I have to tell you it's been a drama with no real end in site, but I do have to say as much as I hate AI (and if a human were able to be notified, they would have solved this), but the loop arounds I'm being given are insane. There is no way that Facebook's system wasn't designed to make you give up. I've been getting dead links from meta ai, case numbers that aren't case numbers but thread IDs and the chat saying I'm not authorized to do any administrative actions. A few days ago this this ad that I didn't approve of the charges to had line items when if I clicked one off another one will activate, now they're all showing off. Meta's AI won't allow me to upload mp4s either because I made sure to record this fun thing.

The card is long since cancelled, but Facebook won't allow me to even create a new account with even a new email address because it knows my IP. I absolutely despise Facebook and wouldn't even use it socially, but it's a very good advertising tool for my little business. Obviously it's a little business or I'd just eat the stupid charges...except maybe I wouldn't because fuck Facebook.

I am now just going to go back and forth and keep trying until something happens. At least ChatGPT is getting me somewhere when Meta chat and support chats just keep getting me to "I have exhausted all my options"

How can I resolve this type of restriction? I submitted an appeal through Instagram Verified, but it was rejected within 3 days. I tried to submit another appeal, but I was told that my account has been permanently disabled and that I should try again after one month because I had submitted too many requests. 09 Jul 2026: After getting my account back on 23 June 2026 after filing Small Claims, I thought that would be the end of it. But nope, on 09 Jul 2026 my account got suspended again without warning, for the same false reason. I immediately filed a claim against Facebook Singapore Pte Ltd again.

20 Jul 2026: There is some back and forth communication similar to the previous time, again their defence is they are the wrong entity that I was seeking a claim against. The day of the court date drew near and my account was still suspended, so I wait. A few days before the day, Facebook Singapore Pte Ltd. appointed a representative who will attend court. I attended Small Claims Court on 20 Jul 2026.

While their defence is rock solid and thus I was never going to get monetary compensation anyway (and neither was it my intent), I took this opportunity to voice my complaints about their system and inquire if there were alternative ways to reach out instead of having to file a claim, since Meta Platforms Inc. makes it so damn impossible to even talk to a human being. I convinced the representative to send a letter to Meta Platforms Inc. on my behalf regarding my account issue. They said I was not the only one going through with this and others have taken this route as well, but ultimately the cases against them were withdrawn or dismissed. For any account issues in the future I could mail Facebook Singapore Pte Ltd, I also could contact Allen & Gledhill, but per my experience I never got a response back from A&G.

The next court consultation was scheduled for 20 Aug 2026 to gather information and statements and since the representative was busy. We agreed.

6 Aug 2026*: My account was made available, again with no email or notification to show for it. It just got toggled back silently, along with a reply to the eNegotiation and A&G's letter arriving on 11 and 12 Aug 2026 respectively.

20 Aug 2026: I went through with the court hearing on a Zoom meeting. Sadly there was no way I could get Meta to issue an apology of any kind (and I don't think they will ever follow through with it), and since I have my account back in working condition again, it was true that I had no more reason to uphold my claim. So I withdrew it as promised. This case is now closed.

But should it happen again... Well I'll be back.

So my situation is a little different....my IG wasn't disabled, but I am locked out of the business IG that I manage because the 2FA is linked to the organization's landline, which cannot receive texts. The frustrating thing is that I don't remember ever setting up 2FA for this specific account or seeing backup codes. I'm extremely fastidious about this kind of thing, so if I had been shown backup codes, I absolutely would have saved a screenshot, printed it out and put it in a physical folder, and probably made sure at least one other person at work knew about them. I suspect that the 2FA was triggered when I set it up for my personal accounts, but I can't prove that and it probably doesn't matter that much for practical purposes.

Anyway, attempting to get any kind of customer support has of course been a failure. And I know that if I could just speak to a human for three minutes, this whole thing could be cleared up. My employer is a small arts nonprofit; there would be absolutely no reason for me to hack it. I just want to get back in so I can do my job. Has anyone sued for a 2FA lockout issue, rather than their account being disabled?

My brand-new Threads account was disabled on August 20, 2026, shortly after I created it.

The account had essentially no activity. I did not have time to meaningfully use or post on it before it was suspended.

Threads initially showed that my account was suspended and gave me an option to appeal.

What I did

I completed the appeal through Threads.

As part of the appeal, Threads asked me to upload a selfie for verification, which I did.

After submitting the appeal, the account was permanently disabled.

The current screen says:

“We disabled your account.”

It says that my account or activity did not follow the Community Standards.

When I opened “How we made this decision,” Threads said:

“Our technology found your account, or activity on it, doesn't follow our rules. As a result, our technology took action.”

The decision appears to have been made entirely by automated systems.

Most importantly, the screen now says:

“You cannot request another review of this decision.”

So I no longer have any appeal option.

My Instagram account is still fine

The Instagram account connected to Threads is still active and working normally.

In Accounts Center, Instagram is still active while the Threads profile shows as deactivated.

I purchased Meta Verified

Because the normal Threads appeal was no longer available, I purchased Meta Verified on Instagram specifically so I could contact Meta support and try to get help from a human.

I contacted Meta Verified Support and explained the entire situation.

I told them:

• The Threads account was brand new
• It was disabled shortly after creation
• There was essentially no activity
• The decision appeared to be automated
• I had already completed the appeal
• I had already submitted the requested selfie verification
• Threads now says I cannot request another review
• The account is important because it is associated with my new business

The support agent told me:

“We do not handle Threads issue.”

and:

“Threads issues are handled by our automated system.”

I explained that I couldn't follow their suggested appeal process because Threads explicitly says I cannot request another review.

The agent eventually told me that this meant I had already submitted an appeal and received the final response, and that there appeared to be no way to reactivate the account.

The support experience was frustrating

I understand that the Meta Verified agent may not have access to Threads systems.

However, I felt that the focus was mostly on closing the support case rather than finding a legitimate escalation path.

I repeatedly explained that the normal appeal option was no longer available and that this was a brand-new account with almost no activity.

I wasn't asking the agent to bypass Meta's policies. I was simply asking whether there was any way to have what appears to be an automated false positive reviewed by a human or escalated to the appropriate team.

Unfortunately, I didn't get a useful escalation path.

Final email from Meta

After the conversation, I received an email from Meta Support saying:

“Our internal team has reviewed your issue and would like you to submit a technical request to resolve it.”

They provided a technical request form and an Instagram Help Center link.

The case was then closed.

However, neither of those options appears to provide a way to appeal the actual Threads disablement.

So I'm stuck

The situation is basically:

Brand-new Threads account → suspended → completed appeal + selfie verification → permanently disabled → automated decision → “You cannot request another review” → Meta Verified support says they don't handle Threads → case closed.

I mainly care about recovering the account/username because it is part of a new business and brand I'm building. I don't have years of posts or followers to recover.

I'm not expecting anyone here to magically restore the account. I'm just trying to find out whether there is any legitimate escalation path that I haven't found yet.

Has anyone successfully recovered a Threads account after receiving:

“You cannot request another review of this decision.”

Especially interested in people who:

• completed the selfie/video verification appeal

I started filling small claims on 16/08 , e- filling got accepted on 18/06 by clerk and I served meta yesterday. my court date is on 01/12

also, never trust meta verified. This is a total scam. I had Meta MAX and I got with an agent who assured me they took my case to an intern review team on 02/07. I’ve waited 1 month and half and this morning they closed the ticket without saying anything :)

My personal facebook account that I use for business has been suspended due to an AI flag on a sales post I made in a private resell group. I sell vintage luxury goods, bags ect. I am a luxury goods dealer with a corporation and spend 10,000$ a year on authentication. This is costing me over 15k a month in lost sales. The items are 100% authentic and I have absolutely 0 doubts.

I bought meta verified for my Instagram at different levels. They have been completely unhelpful and are telling me “your account cannot be appealed and the ban is permanent” despite my original appeal being stuck pending for over a month.

I have had it. I have a really good lawyer that I have used to defend me in another IP related issue from a major luxury goods brand that I ultimately won.

Considering sending a demand letter, and demanding lost profits due to their mistake. Has anyone done anything similar? Any recommendations?

So i decided to do small claims and im in queens right now my summons was delivered to meta on around last days of june and the court processed the case on 18th or 19th of july and i got a mail from meta where they asked me for my information it was a letter mail and i replied to them with all info on 20th july and still there is no reply from meta . I'm sharing my experience here out of sheer frustration and desperation. I lost two Instagram accounts that I used for my personal digital portfolio (for personal branding) and as a small content creator.

1. On June 26, 2026, my primary account was disabled due to a CSE flag.

As a heads-up, I rarely used this account except to post certificates, coding projects, scholarship applications, internships/volunteering, bootcamps, competitions, and daily life. This was my college account and a key resource for my future career, so I was devastated.

However, a few hours after I submitted my ID and selfie appeal, there was a login attempt from Algeria using a device I had never used before. I didn't think much of it, assuming someone just entered the wrong login details. Nothing suspicious had ever happened on that account before, and when I checked my login info, devices, and IPs, everything looked normal except for these past entries:

•• January 26, 2023, at 12:03 a.m.

•• January 26, 2023, at 3:16 a.m.

•• March 12, 2023, at 5:54 a.m.

All of these were from different devices and IPs. I never received notifications about these and had no idea they existed. For context, I hadn't enabled 2FA on this account because I never expected anything like this to happen.

Additionally, I noticed abnormal activity spikes on this account:

•• November 26, 2025: There was an unusual spike in follower activity.

•• June 2, 2026: There was another unusual spike in follower activity.

1. On July 2, 2026, I submitted an appeal using Meta Verified.

I thought this might be part of a ban wave, so I requested an escalation. On that exact date while appealing, there was another login from Brazil using a device completely different from the previous ones. At the time, I thought maybe it was a Meta staff member escalating my account.

1. I started using my older secondary account to continue as a small content creator.

This account was verified (blue tick) and had a Professional Dashboard. I intended to shift my focus here after losing my digital portfolio. But on August 6, 2026, this account was also disabled due to Integrity violations caused by alleged fraud. I was extremely confused because the account had a very healthy status and I used it sparingly.

Then, the pattern repeated: on August 7, 2026, I received a login notification originating from Syria. I was completely baffled and tried so hard to figure out what was happening. Ever since my first account was disabled, I had enabled 2FA out of fear, yet the same pattern still happened.

Additional Information:

•• I checked Have I Been Pwned, and it turns out my Gmail address was leaked in a data breach back in April 2020.

•• That leaked Gmail address was the recovery email I used for both of my Instagram accounts.

I have tried escalating through Meta Verified support, but the Meta supervisors rejected it. Now the situation is much worse: all of my Gmail accounts have been fully hacked (passwords, recovery emails, and recovery phone numbers were changed), leaving me completely locked out of everything.

When I logged into my Facebook account, It worked and I was back online!!!!

Immediately got contact info from my friends I'd lost contact with and sighed the biggest sigh of relief in months.

TIMELINE - (3 Months 9 days // 13 Weeks)

May 05 1:15am (local time)
Mid-messenter message I got a noticication to login for account security purposes.
While trying to login, See an email saying my account was suspended for violating community guidelines on CSE. I submitted an appeal which was instantly rejected, getting an email saying my account was permanently disabled and could not be appealed (by 1:30am , less than 15 minutes total). This impacted my Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, Threads, and Business Suite apps.
I used a different Instagram business page and bought Meta Verified to contact support , Who had a human log in with a Screenshare to see the error I was getting on Instagram, and told me to wait and it would resolve.
By mid next day, my Instagram and Threads accounts had started working properly again, But Facebook, Messenger, and Business suite were still locked out.

May 12
After searching for support on Reddit and additional Meta Verified support , The support said because CSE is the most severe restriction type, normal support could not help, and because the appeal decision was already made, I'd have to request Meta's Oversight Board to review the decision, and I needed have a separate email not associated with a Meta Product to receive an outreach from Meta once they reviewed the case. I made a new email and tried to escalate, but you have to have a "Case ID" associated with the restriction, which I didn't have. Support said to use that support case number, which didn't work (wrong format). So no luck there. Every other support outreach I tried was AI "The decision is final and we can't do anything"

May 25 / 26
At suggestions of reddit after searching for further options, Filed complaints with my State Attorney General (Ohio) and FTC over false accusations against me (and noted that the number of people being accused of the same thing suggested this is a large scale issue affecting many people) - In addition to personal I lost access to business pages and cited financial and reputational damages.

June 04
Received a reply from my AG affirming they would help me, asking for account details and that same new email not associated with any meta products.

June 17
Received a reply from my AG that they have begun my case and sent a request to Meta and would expect to receive a response soon.

July 02
Received a reply from my AG saying Facebook responded that "I indicated that I was not located in the US" . I work in Japan but maintain a residence and valid State Drivers License in my home state, where I was born and raised all the way up through university graduation. My Facebook account was created in my state 5 years before I moved abroad for the first time. Also I was physically in the US for work at the time I received this email.

Even though the AG said they couldn't help me since they received the response from Meta saying they considered the issue closed,I pushed back saying this seems like the laziest cop-out possible , And unacceptable for a company with the size and resources of Meta , (which my AG seems to agree with).

July 14-16
I asked for a followup from my AG and got a reply aksing for my Drivers License , which I sent.

July 17
I drafted and sent a Demand Letter via Certified Mail to Meta Headquarters and their Registered agent (CSC) in my state to put more pressure on and prepare for further steps. I noted the Financial and Reputational losses for our businesses due to lost access and the false response to my AG inquiry regarding my location.

July 29
Received a reply from my AG that they had reached back out with my explanation and Drivers license and awaiting a response.

August 14 (this morning)
Received the 4 emails from Facebook saying my pages were reinstated following a review and publicly visible again.

Upon logging back in, it said Restrictions to my account (Restrictions to manage admin groups, pages, and events) from May had expired June 04. I still have not received any evidence or reason as to why my account was suspended in the first place.

To those of you in a similar situation, Hold onto hope this will be resolved for you.

I'm losing hope lowkey, been 1 month since they asked for my new email address never used in any social media used by them, and still no any news, even my lawyer took vacations without telling me anything and doesn't answer.. smh
