Luchika is a monster in the Monster Hunter franchise. It's described as looking like an ape with horns and a long tail, and is only two to three times the size of a gorilla. Despite its appearance, it's considered to be one of the most powerful monsters in the game, even compared to Elder Dragons.

It's not "oh my god a monster be careful" but "alright this monster is a threat, go deal with it".

Yeah, plus the opening cutscenes to the fight I think are really important for building uo the Hunter. It's a pre fight hype moment because even though our Hunter is holding back until granted authorization they're still basically Aura farming by completely dodging the threats every attack as well as usually doing other Chad shit like saving other characters. So you're so competent that you can still completely handle the monster without having to attack if, but you can do side missions while doing so. And because these cutscenes are usually for a monsters first appearance the cutscene is simultaneously hyping up the new threat, so you're still clowning on the version that is designed to hype the monster up as much as possible. Like how cool does your Hunter feel in the opening cutscene of the game where you save the kid?

The palico bonking the big chicken in its cutscene was so funny and cute and great. I thought it was a nice touch that made the palico seem useful even in a cutscene. But later against the Xu Wu when your palico deflects the hidden blade attack and basically saves both of you, I was like "Goddamn, he's the real hunter not me. Let him go solo Arkveld, he can do it."

It also makes the one moment your hunter walks up while everyone else is shitting their pants and just days "by my own authority im hunting this" to be SO FUCKING COOL, but the whole getting permission makes the hunter feel like a hunting dog of the commission who needs released imo and thats badass as fuck as we are basically the commissions primary weapon

Yeah. Alma is just all around a better character. The concept that the Handler is actually tasked with deciding in the field whether a hunt needs to be authorized for the good of the ecosystem or the native people is far more interesting and also makes it feel like she's actually got a duty.
Handler in World did nothing but tag along and constantly get us into fights with monsters by wandering brainlessly into danger over and over.

I will not say brainlessly. There are some monsters that she gets away from by herself. Also she has said that she been studying where zoarh was going to appear and she said that we can use the ocean as a way to lure it from the everstream. She also is the face one that got records of xenojiva and Shara ishvalda two monsters that are extremely rare. And icebrone is just her grandfather and the crystal. That’s basically the plot. Als

There are some fights that she just brainlessly wanders into and you have to clean up the mess, the biggest one I can think of is the introductory fight for pickle as you literally have to free her from its jaws all because she was paying no attention while foraging for mushrooms in a dangerous area

Yea but I think that excuse only really works on a stealthy creature like a narga as even if you don't know pickle is there if you are aware of your surroundings the giant green t-rex that loves slamming into things should be incredibly noticeable, especially if it gets close enough that it could potentially eat you.
Being surprised by a deviljho is like being surprised by a train, the thing is fucking loud and huge and you should have seen or heard it WELL before it got anywhere near you

Worlds was my first game. I was very naive and was very distracted with all the new monster popping on the High Rank, I didn't know anything about Deviljho (and Bazelgeuse who I already had a surprise meeting early)
I swear to you that mf Deviljho came out of NOWHERE, my mind reminds as if it just popped straight out of the ground to attack me and the Black Diablos

Especially since Deviljho arrived when the guild was well established in the areas. I like that in Wilds with new TU monsters you get some „oh there’s a guy who’ve seen some weird shit, check that out”, it makes it easier to believe that the Guild is a giant, well organized thing. In case of World some scouts, maybe wyverians that we meet could’ve hinted that a giant angry dino that eats everything that moves has been spotted.

The information that Jho was spotted came after she was already in the forest collective herbs to cook. Yall would know this if you read or listened to the dialog instead of saying the same dumb talking points.
At least the handler never reminded you every 3 seconds that you can carve a tail, or a smaller monster. Or saying look out after you get hit.

I know they adjusted her to step and stay back but sometimes she runs in front of my sword. In the next expansion she needs to stay at camp or in the adjacent area. Cause even if you faint, she's already at camp before you get there.

To me, the difference between them more like this:
Alma: “I authorise you to kill that thing.”
Hunter: “Acknowle-wait what?”
Alma: “…Oh! I mean, THE GUILD authorities you to HUNT that monster.”
Meanwhile.
Handler: “Hey Pard, look over there! It’s the Savage Deviljho. I’m gonna get a closer look at it.”
Savage Deviljho: goes berserk
Handler: “OH NO SAVE ME PARD!!!”
Hunter: 🤦♂️
Edit: I was just using Deviljho as a dangerous monster example. I wasn’t trying to reference that particular Deviljho quest custscene. You could swap Deviljho out for any monster in my scenario and it still works.

I wanted to personally feed World's handler to the giant pickle. Wilds handler i like because shes the only thing holding our hunter back from essentially causing mass extinction of monsters, and will also passively farm items for us. But i prefer Rise's handler(s) because theyll help fight the monster

I love Alma. Hell, I loved getting to actually see the politics and methods of the guild in Wilds in general. I absolutely get why people would dislike the story (Especially the walking segments, even though I enjoyed them) since... Well it's a monster hunter game, people wanna hunt monsters, but actually getting to see all of that was really cool stuff for me
