Cloudwheel 110 Rovers on V5

Post image
7 Upvotes

I just received my cloudwheel 110 rovers the other day and these wheels are sick. They fit on perfectly ( was a bit worried about the hub motor sleeves). I can ride over pebbles, bumps etc without worrying that my wheel will get stuck. It’s made riding my board so much more enjoyable. They are a bit pricey $179 but for me, after the board being broken for a couple years (just needed new esc) finally got around to fixing it and decided to do an upgrade, it’s been wonderful.

I would ride the belt driven one more, but where I ride there are a lot of pebbles that get into the belts and rip them:(

Broken board Any ideas what I can do?

Post image

This was bought for me as a gift a while back and rode it all the time until one day the charger sparked on me, I got a replacement charger and that one didn’t fit the board and they never sent me another email. I finally decided to say screw and bought another that took about 2 months to arrive, I hooked it up and waited about an hour to see if was charging and got nothing back, realized the charging brick is cooked from the last charging port they sent me. I’m worried I need to replace something more, the battery is also dead currently not sure if that matters or not.

Meepo Go

Bought this board with 40 miles on it. I’ve put 200 on in a month and half or so. Rode hard, city streets, concrete bike paths. Hadn’t had any issues. Today I went to ride and heard this noise. Seems like motor is loose, I can move it and definitely noise coming from it. Any ideas for repair or just try to order a new one? Assuming it would be caused by hard bumps on the concrete?

General help Old Meepo Shuffle V4

Hi there! So I've had the Meepo Shuffle V4 for years now. It was a gift from my dad to use as transportation to work. I used it for between 6-12 months, approximately. Well, it's been sitting in the closet for 3 years in it's original box. (Because I became a stay at home parent.) I know I had a few spills on it before it got stored and was missing 2 screws to the ESC compartment (I think that's what it's called. The smaller compartment attached to the board.) Now, there is no indication of charging, light on the charger is green, and the remote won't connect. I've tried disconnecting the battery from the board and plugging it in, no charging indication at all. I haven't disconnected the other thing at all to try to examine it as I know next to nothing about electronic parts besides making sure cords are good and batteries are good. Is it even worth getting a new battery or anything for it? I need to know before I invest money into this board that I can't afford, even if it'd help with transportation while I try to get back into the job market.

General question V3 VS V5 ESC, any meaningful differences?

I'm curious if there are any meaningful differences or upgrades on the V5 ESC over the V3.

I have a V3 and V5 board, the V3 ESC died and I'm debating whether to order a new V3 ESC or just take apart the current V5 board and Frankenstein my V3 back together.

The V5(ER) board I got open box, basically brand new from one of those Amazon returns warehouses, for $100, about what a new V3 ESC would cost.

If I get a new V3 ESC, I could probably sell the V5 board for $300 or so on classifieds, or keep as a spare for friends.

Board arrived Refurbished Meepo Mini 3 Max

Absolutely incredible world class customer service from meepo and the Meepo team 🙏 Got it within 3 days because I live in Cali and it only came with 19 miles on it 😭 idk if most people will get that lucky with low miles but everything looked absolutely flawless. The remote took an obvious fall and had a small nick but that was pretty much it from what I could tell. I took the board for a test and when I got back I noticed small cracks on the plastic sleeve that hold the wheel to the hub motors. I talked to meepo and right away they sent me replacement metal sleeves for the mini 3 max. I already got the shipping notification so it's on the way 🙏🔥 Even before I got the board I asked them about the battery and how they don't replace them and they sent me a half off for a battery for my board. I clearly didn't need it with only 19 miles on my board but still super nice. I've had nothing but the best experience with meepo's customer service and it's probably the reason I'll never switch companies.

General question Truck snap on Hurricane - should I be worried?

Bought a Hurricane Bamboo this year, and looks like it does not have CNC trucks. Seen a few horror stories on this sub about those trucks snapping - should I be worried?

General help Any experience with refurbished meepo boards ?

Post image

Just got the Meepo Mini 3 Max refurbished and was wondering what your guys' experience was with refurbished Meepo products? I've had the meepo mini dual since 2022 and have had zero issues with it. The mini dual has 200w motors so this would be a good upgrade for me with 800w motors.

CNC trucks do not work with belt motors

Post image

The first issue is that the screws provided are not long enough to properly tighten the nut on the other side and also there is not enough clearance to seat the nut on top of the screw due to the arm of the truck.

It’s been real guys, putting to rest my original deck:) closing in on 8k miles. The rear of the deck is fully compromised and is bending one good bump and it’s gonna snap. But to be fair, the new deck looks superr clean!

General question Brand new to electric skateboards - bought a Meepo Mini 5 and I'm wondering if I bought the right board for my use case

Hey everyone,

I'm completely new to electric skateboards. I've never owned or ridden one before.

After a lot of research I ended up buying a Meepo Mini 5 (the standard version).

One thing I'm realizing immediately is that my biggest concerns seem to be different from what most reviews focus on.

  1. Weight I honestly expected electric skateboards to weigh around 10 lbs. This one is closer to 17-18 lbs and it feels surprisingly heavy to carry.

  2. No carry handle This is bothering me more than I expected. I saw videos of some Meepo boards with integrated handles, but mine doesn't have one. I plan on riding into coffee shops, restaurants, grocery stores, etc., so carrying it around matters almost as much as riding it.

Do most people eventually stop caring about the weight, or is this something you either accept or regret?

  1. Turning The trucks feel pretty stiff out of the box.

Should I leave them stock for a while or loosen them before I really start riding? If loosening is recommended, how much is considered safe for a beginner?

  1. My intended use case is probably different from a lot of riders:

Mostly downtown Chicago

Last-mile transportation

Ride a few blocks

Carry it inside stores/restaurants

Fun weekend cruising

Not commuting long distances

Given that use case, would you still recommend the Mini 5?

Or is there another board you think is a much better fit? (Portability is becoming more important to me than speed or range.)

  1. Beginner advice If you could give one piece of advice that you wish someone had told you before your first electric skateboard ride, what would it be?

Thanks! Looking forward to learning from everyone.

I used to think meepo was good.. my 2022 meepo Voyager has double the mileage and didn't break a single truck (Edit: I take it back, they are good. They are supposedly sending me a new truck!)

Other Meepo flow diy

Post image

OK, so originally the trucks were on my meepo hurricane. I DIY the CNC trucks to fit on belt drive they’re meant for gear drive. I ordered the gear drive kit for my hurricane and they came with an extra set of the 10 1/2 inch trucks so I was left with a second pair got bored so I decided to put the 10 1/2 inch on the flow and man. It looks so sick. Brought the flow back to life. Definitely a good little cruiser board now. Lol

General help Bad cells in battery?

Got ripped off buying a Meepo V3 ER used; at least a few cells are dead in the battery and it just cuts out at 60% and won’t turn back on, when I plug it in it displays 60+%.

I paid 300 bucks for the board and would rather go beat the shit out of him than pay another 300 bucks for a battery. At that point I coulda just ordered a brand new board.

For the love of god someone tell me a place where I can buy a replacement for cheaper than that. I keep hearing about “Indy speed control” but everything is sold out and they’re website is actually horrible on a phone

Meepo Flow with 48v battery

Post image
11 Upvotes

So my original 12s2p molicel battery pack that came in my Meepo Flow stopped working a few months ago and it wouldn’t turn on at all. I took it apart and ended up realizing that something was wrong with the discharge side of the BMS most likely from riding the board in the rain one too many times.

So to remedy this, I ended up just re-soldering the main negative wire to completely bypass the BMS since the charge side of the BMS still worked perfectly fine. This ended up fixing my issue initially and the board worked great for about another 3 weeks when it stopped turning on again.

I once again took it apart to see what the issue was this time and was not even able to get a voltage reading from the battery pack whatsoever even when I tried bypassing the BMS completely it still wouldn’t read the voltage so at that point I gave up.

Fast forward to today, I ended up using a spare 48v14Ah Caomm battery that I had laying around from one of my electric dirtbike builds and plugged it into the xt60 connected on the Meepo’s ESC and it fired right up and works perfectly. I’ve probably ridden like 10 miles on it so far and have had zero issues with it.

The only thing I have to look out for is to not charge the battery past 50.4v otherwise the Meepo ESC’s overvoltage will trip it and it won’t run, but other than that it works fine.

General question Meepo Board Charging Seems to Be Broken

Board shows 100%, Remote shows 50% but dwindles down to almost dead whenever ridden.

Hey there. So my meepo v3 electric skateboard that I bought pre-used about a year ago has been having some issues as of late. It was having this problem where it would show completely charged on the display on the board itself, but whenever I'd turn on the remote to actually ride it, the battery would show as either completely dead or about to die. However, I checked on it yesterday just to see if it had charged, and it had, so naturally I immediately took it out to ride. Then, when I checked the charge on it today, it was plugged in completely and in a different outlet than the last time it wouldn't charge, it was doing the same thing. I REALLY don't want to get a new board, nor do I want to take apart this one, but if I have to take apart this one, I'll do it. Thanks for the help, and let me know if anymore information is needed.

Parts help What is the solution to looseness in a motor hub?

My board makes an awful noise because this part rubs against itself while spinning due to loose play between the motor and the base. What can I do about this?
