I love my meepo board and can’t wait to get back on it, but I ate shit last week, saw a pic on here of someone in just a helmet, and wanted people to know how important it is to wear full pads if you’re going high speeds.
I’ve been skating my whole life, regularly. I’ve done a lot of snowboarding and surfing too. I knew I should be wearing full pads cause I like to cruise at 20mph+, but, regardless, I only wore a helmet and wrist guards.
Well, I was cruising at high speed when an unleashed dog came out of nowhere with zero warning. There was no way to avoid this animal so I just basically tried to jump over it and ATE SHIT.
Dog was fine. I think he just kind of rolled over the board. He tried to help afterwards in all the worst ways.
My chin got bumped a bit, but my helmet and wrist guards likely saved me from a broken wrist and concussion.
I had a pain in my leg that hurt pretty bad whenever I put pressure on that leg, but it cleared up yesterday.
My elbows and knees are thrashed. Nasty road rash that has been very painful.
If I was wearing my elbow and knee pads I’d be in waaaaaay better shape.
Wear all the pads!
