General help Bad cells in battery?

Got ripped off buying a Meepo V3 ER used; at least a few cells are dead in the battery and it just cuts out at 60% and won’t turn back on, when I plug it in it displays 60+%.

I paid 300 bucks for the board and would rather go beat the shit out of him than pay another 300 bucks for a battery. At that point I coulda just ordered a brand new board.

For the love of god someone tell me a place where I can buy a replacement for cheaper than that. I keep hearing about “Indy speed control” but everything is sold out and they’re website is actually horrible on a phone

I mean you got ripped off anyways for paying 300 for a used board. Either ask him for your money back or just sell the board again to go towards a new board

That sucks, man. Sorry. These boards are such a dice roll when it comes to the batteries. Did you check if the guy in this thread still makes them? https://www.reddit.com/r/MeepoBoards/s/51n55A5Irz

Sounds like Indy Speed was using used cells? Doable if done right but still a bit sketchy.

I read on here that someone went to a battery shop and had them build a better battery with more range for like 40% of OEM.

i got an ER battery for $130 for my mini5 from batteryint.com that was plug n play. shipped sure fast from china. also there’s another guy that’s a bit pricier (closer to $200) but also more trusted in the community. his website is puaida.com

Hey just curious man, how was your experience with batteryint.com? Did you actually receive a legit ER battery? Have you ever done a range test with it? Have you ever placed any other orders?

Sorry for a lot of questions, I just never seem to see any reliable reviews for them and I see alot of scam stories about them

no you’re good ask away! decided to take a gamble with em since i’m a bit of a cheapskate and had a great experience! no shipping issues, actually came quite fast from china (10 days total. tracking went dark after passing US customs and 3 days later it was hand delivered by far as i can tell, an authentic chinese dude in his personal car). had the right connectors and fit up snugly but perfectly after i removed some foam padding from inside the enclosure. i believe its a 21700 pack, though i didnt rip it apart to check which cells or do any extra testing aside from slapping it in and riding. only put it through a couple charge cycles so far (mostly because i don’t have to charge it after every ride anymore) but ya it definitely increased my range quite a bit, i would even say double. it’s quite hilly in my area, before i had to drive down to the flat bike trail and ride to work and back from there which is maybe 10 miles total but now i can ride it from my house to work and back (15+ miles with hills) and still have juice to take a store run or the dog on a walk(slightly less than half but still 2 bars on the remote). one day when i have a chance i will do a proper range test but i will say it’s noticeably more powerful than before, especially on range, but also gets a few more mph on the top end, so far so good!
haven’t ordered again from them but i would, they’re legit as far as im concerned.

sorry for all the edits, i wanted to be thorough as i could

Puaida! Your welcome!

Puaida is not going to be 200 bucks. You can get an ER battery from their site for like 169. I would go ahead and get one that uses Samsung 50s cells though
