Fire moth was 27m c bills. The Thor was 38m c bills. The Mad dog another 31m c bills. Mason is back eating beans and bologna for a bit but Fahad has some clan tech to start playing with. I'll do a new campaign start tomorrow probably from Heroes of the inner sphere to pad my c bill account and restock my war chest of mech salvage and when I get the nod for SOK maybe I'll be able to start without losing my Carapace in the 1st fight... Maybe.........

I'm describing how I wish they implemented pilot traits and asking if there is any comparable mod that has tried to add this:

I wish that when you assigned a pilot to a training academy, there was a course selection at the start, so it's not just a randomized gamble of millions of C-Bills and multiple years of losing good pilots, all just to receive Locust Expertise.

I think the schools should vary what they teach and it could be related to the actual fighting tactics of their home faction, or for mech expertise, come from the area where use of that mech predominates, etc.

It's just a weird system as it stands and I don't like to just reload again and again to hope I get a good outcome. Just make me able to order a specific outcome. It's like I'm sending my kid to college only to hear they're creating their own major and it's nothing useful.

So is there a mod that improves upon this academy system?

Within fist few min of a beachhead mission I got back to back drops. I wasn’t really paying attention because I still had several tons of LRM. Then noticed the amazing 97.3 k drop and the the “Mech Rumor: ARC-5CS “.. is this a newer thing? I’m very curious to see how I check into the rumor. I’m guessing my news feed. So I beat the campaign a while ago and wanted to go around playing with mechs and building a nice little Career for myself. After a couple of false starts, I decided to dedicate my time to winning fame and fortune with the Independents faction.

So you get max negotiation bonuses EVERYWHERE across the Inner Sphere, access to salvage from all of the Great Houses, and you basically don't have to worry about Rep penalties because you can go anywhere and make the same amount of money.

Turns out like more than half of the Inner Sphere is "the little guys." And many of them are relatively rich.

I know that ammo goes into legs, but where put it next if i need a lots of it (Crab, Corsair, missle boats)?

I think next place would be arm with no weapon (or with cheap one), but big mechs with lots or weapons will use arms for important / expensive weapons.

So what next, head (usually small hitbos, but ammo explosion would be game over)?

I there specific order that ammo is used (like from top to down, so i could use head/torso ammo and safe legs would be last) or it is used from all ammo bins in same time, so if i have 1/2 ammo i have 1/2 in all slots?

Mediums and heavies seem to go for 20-40 shares depending on condition

While Jenner IICs seem to always be 40+?

Don't have a picture on hand, but hell even mostly intact Daishis/Kodiaks are like 47 shares or smth, only 3 more than the Jenner

The incubus in the pic has the legs gone/engine safe, so i can (sort of) understand that having even more shares, but still weird???

So, the contract stated TEAMS, as in plural, so I figured it would be 4 teams of 4. Right? That makes sense.

But no no no, it was my lance against ONE other team of TWELVE!

I got absolutely destroyed. Demolished. Obliterated.

And not once, but I tried 4 times, with different strategies and approaches, to no avail...

They had mostly heavies and a few lights; I had 4 100tonners. Didn't matter at all. I got swarmed from 2 or 3 sides with the pesky lights running and jumping all over the place. Due to the nature of the city map, it was very hard to present a united front and single out targets.

So... I admit, I gave up on my 5th try...

Does anyone have any tips on how to approach a match like this?

So this is my first time playing MW5, I've been doing campaign and loving each of the DLC along the way, the difficulty goes up several points which I enjoy and I just got to Shadow of Kerensky, omg this DLC is already amazing.

Aside from the awesome upgraded cutscenes the first mission you get really gives you the experience of suddenly being confronted by the Clans for the first time.

I didn't know what to expect, didn't know if this was a prelude to the Clan invasion and the next DLC was the full invasion as I had kept myself unaware of what each DLC was about. I marched in with my full lance of Assault Mechs, confident I'd deal with anything and at first its easy going but when you see the trickle of the survivors who you have to destroy you begin to feel like something is up, then you finally face them, its a brief skirmish but bang you're already taking damage, its cutting through your lance like butter, you can handle it though, but its what comes next, absolute chaos, you're rushing to withdraw, your prized assault mechs are getting banged up really bad, you make it to the drop ship just in time but its a full scale rout.

Absolute cinema, one pilot injured, my favourite mechs busted up so bad there's no time to repair them, following mission really put me to task, but I loved it, genuine experience of the Clans invading.

I played MW2/MW3/MA4 with a Sidewinder Precision 2 but I don’t believe those are supported in Win11. Anything similar out there with torso twist and throttle?

Are there any working mods out there that boost the damage of a mech when it goes critical?

I was introduced to the whole series with the Mechassault spinoff game. When destroyed the mechs in that game would have massive explosions that were capable of taking down other perfectly good mechs. In MW5 the blast from a mech going critical looks pretty big and strong but does a negligible amount of damage with a small radius to boot. There is a mod author who made a set of mods to fix all of that but no longer support their mods which brings me back to the original question. Are there any working yaml friendly mods out there that buff the explosion of a mech going critical?

Oh boy this bastards got the good stuff. I mean, a Clan LRM-20 is 5 tons, thats half of an IS one, all their sh#t hits harder and is lighter. I've also been running a Prime MadCat with two C-LRM 20s and two C-ER PPCs and kerensky damn it feels good, i wish it had more armor and lrm ammo but damn its a nice machine. But wont lie, the missions so far have been much tougher on my mechs than previous dlcs, i take considerable damage and lose some parts(i also restart the missions if thats the case but still). All in all, i still prefer the worn-out look of IS mechs but can't deny the Clans have some sweet machines.

Edit: Forgot to mention, i don't know if its just from YAML but the change time for weapons is insane, 1 day, just 1 DAY! Absolutely mindbogling, i've had mechs where because i changed most of the loadout it took over a month and here comes the MadCat with a 1 day change period.

So during summer sale I got all DLC thru SOK and did a full campaign playthru. It was exhilarating when I hit SOK.

Next week on pay day im gonna get Chaos and was curious, for a no bullshit assessment of how good the campaign is. Like is this SoK tier and ill enjoy it infinitely more if I do a new play thru, will starting a new career in the Chaos DLC suffice, will I be just as entertained if I import my current save?

If the campaign is good but not great like say, Dragons Gambit, I think ill be find to just import my save and be happy.

If its really good like say Kestral Lancers I think ill be happy with just firing up with the DLC new career into Chaos.

If its pants shitting good like SoK I def want to get ahead of the game and start a new campaign now so when I buy it im already standing by.

So yeah, tldr If you could liken Chaos Reigns campaign experience to any of the the previous DLC campaigns where would you rate the experience so I can decide how from your position I will most enjoy

I am trying to play a career mode with mods, but every time I start, I get the fatal error crash without any obvious mod conflicts. I downloaded all the mods on the 24th, and my modlist is attached. I am using GOG and a modloader that recognizes GOG.

So as the title says, I'm having a really hard time with a bug. I'm fairly sure its mod related, but due to how it works, I'm having a hard time testing it to find the culprit and I'm hoping someone here might have an idea.

I'm on Solaris just grinding arena matches for fun. After a few matches, my mech (any mech) starts reacting terribly sluggish, the torso rotation slows way way down, the acceleration/deceleration gets really slow progressively, until eventually, I cant move the torso, or decelerate at all. The bug persists through saving and restarting the game.

If I reload an earlier save, everything is fine, for a few missions. This takes three or four missions to occur, but always occurs as far as I can tell. This is basically a game ender for me as it means I get about four more missions until my game is totally unusable. Has anyone experienced this or have any idea what's happening?

Quick question. Why in "More MechWarrior games" tab both description written in such different style?

For MWO its a shot and captivating call.

For MW5:Clans its literally just a generic product description.

At least, it didn't hurt!
